I LOVE THIS PLACE. As a DIY enthusiast but also a bad crafter and a working parent with absolutely…read morezero extra time on my hands, Projects in Person is a dream. First off, Jill is a goddess. She has super fun energy, is intensely creative and inspired, and - like any good mom and small business owner - rolls with the punches like nobody's business. The selection of projects PIP offers is great - from smaller accent/decor pieces to larger furniture and yard items - meaning they have the right project for any audience. And the whole concept is brilliant! They do the hard part of ideating, planning, measuring, cutting, prepping, and cleanup. You just show up to use some fun power tools and walk out with a stunning custom addition to your home or yard!! And as an activity, this is as multi-functional as it gets. Girl's night out? Yes. Self care solo adventure? Totally. Date night? Already scheduled (we'll be making clocks!). Next time I need to plan a team building experience for work? Donezo. You can also hire them to do private workshops, and they've recently expanded their offerings to include an on-site option where they come to you. Brilliant. I've done two projects with PIP in the last year, and have another on the books for next month. I could continue to wax poetic about how great this place is, but instead I'll just encourage you to check it out yourself. Seriously. Like now.

The staff was thorough in following procedures to ensure I wasn't cheating, and extremely polite & nice to chat with. As a test taker, the environment and provided amenities were also lovely - I was offered noise protecting headphones and an erasable note board plus an extra mouse pad to protect my water bottle from making noises that might distract other testers, which I appreciated. The lockers are secure and easy to use, so I felt good about my items being safe while I was testing. There was a nice, quiet break space with tea and coffee plus water and a few snacks. Today I happened to be taking quite a short exam but my experience was so comfortable that I am actually looking forward to returning in a few weeks for a second, longer exam. Also the entire office smelled vaguely of chocolate chip cookies. Extremely comforting and home-y without being overwhelming. It was also fairly easy to find by following signs on the second floor but they are at the very far end of the hallway from the elevators which made me a little concerned I'd missed it, but this location choice definitely contributes to the very quiet atmosphere they promote for exam takers. Truly the best experience I've had taking an exam of this sort.

Ahhh this place makes me want to have kids JUST to be able to send them here!…read more Leonardo's Basement is a crazy amazing workspace with after school programs and summer classes for kids (mostly, some for adults too). It's pretty much a hands on learning space where children get to explore the extents of their creativity! Walking in you feel like you've stumbled into your crazy inventor uncle's basement: filled to the brim with contraptions the students and staff have built, the tools for building, and all the junk you'd need to build more contraptions. They have classes for every kind of interest, from building functioning robots to learning how to fix a bike, to making costumes, to cooking. They take things that children only dream of (like building a giant maze out of 30+ cardboard refrigerator boxes) and turn them into realities. They have such a variety of classes that you just have to check out the schedule to figure out the specifics. If I had to summarize it in one sentence it would be: This is a place that focuses on the joys of creating through building, experimenting, and learning how to take ideas out of your brain, put them on paper, and then make them physical objects. For the grown-ups they also offer some classes on making things, through the affiliated Studio Bricolage (linked on their website). We were told to check this place out by many members of the design/tinker community here and after seeing it for myself this afternoon I'm really happy to know a place like this exists.

This place is a business more than a school. There's a time and a place for recommending…read more Here's the recommendation. If you are an LPN or a Paramedic looking for an accelerated shortcut to get your RN. Cool. Make sure you have background knowledge as a CNA/LPN (if you're a medic ). If you're an LPN hopefully your nurse theory was strong and can carry you through the emergent sections. I watched a lot of people that came in as CNA and Med techs/assistants really REALLY struggle in this program. While you have guidance it's more about getting you to pass their bench mark tests over understand philosophy. Medics start understanding what other risks you have rather than directly treating the issue at hand. This is the way you need to think rather than being the fix-it on the spot person. Cost. HUGE. More than just money. Hope your company has an agreement for a discount.... And soon that won't even matter they care A LOT about money from admin through student support advisors. Instructors are about the only one who aren't focused on how is it going to cost Rasmussen and batting for their best interest (refreshing and exhausting feeling at the same time) OMG the drama. I won't bore you with specifics but watch out for the assistant deans..... make sure you save emails with you being told one thing because another persons answer WILL be different. And taking the bull by the horns is really the only way to get anything to change. Using their 48 hour return email policy against them is great because while It's expected of you it should be as well for them .... This will most definitely be broken time and time again. Don't expect phone calls to be returned if you're having a problem. I'm glad my experience there is done and over. I could have stayed for a bachelors but nope I wanted out. The shear chaos that ensues is enough to get your blood pressure spiking as you walk in the building. One thing I'm glad about is that I did my RN in MN and not FL. You do have to put in your work and complete your classes to earn your degree here.
