If you are an LPN or a Paramedic looking for an accelerated shortcut to get your RN. Cool. Make sure you have background knowledge as a CNA/LPN (if you're a medic ). If you're an LPN hopefully your nurse theory was strong and can carry you through the emergent sections. I watched a lot of people that came in as CNA and Med techs/assistants really REALLY struggle in this program. While you have guidance it's more about getting you to pass their bench mark tests over understand philosophy. Medics start understanding what other risks you have rather than directly treating the issue at hand. This is the way you need to think rather than being the fix-it on the spot person. Cost. HUGE. More than just money. Hope your company has an agreement for a discount.... And soon that won't even matter they care A LOT about money from admin through student support advisors. Instructors are about the only one who aren't focused on how is it going to cost Rasmussen and batting for their best interest (refreshing and exhausting feeling at the same time) OMG the drama. I won't bore you with specifics but watch out for the assistant deans..... make sure you save emails with you being told one thing because another persons answer WILL be different. And taking the bull by the horns is really the only way to get anything to change. Using their 48 hour return email policy against them is great because while It's expected of you it should be as well for them .... This will most definitely be broken time and time again. Don't expect phone calls to be returned if you're having a problem. I'm glad my experience there is done and over. I could have stayed for a bachelors but nope I wanted out. The shear chaos that ensues is enough to get your blood pressure spiking as you walk in the building. One thing I'm glad about is that I did my RN in MN and not FL. You do have to put in your work and complete your classes to earn your degree here.

One big irk- the program often feels like an extended discipleship program, not necessarily a biblical higher education program. Compared to my husband's education at Bethlehem College, the education here is not as in depth. Much of it is spiritual, which is not a bad thing, just a thing that can work for you or not work for you! I appreciate the leadership here (while I was a student at least, I'm not sure of any new leaders). My experience as a ministry intern was great! I grew so much in prayer ministry and got to live with some really good friends and grow in my love for minneapolis. As for claims of sexism, as a woman I'm not sure what they are referring to. It is quite a homogenous school in terms of race, which hopefully will change gradually with time. I also think they've gotten much better over the years with handling mental health situations with more delicacy and grace. I docked one star because no experience or organization is perfect. There are things any student will discover that will make them disappointed, because that's the nature of humans. However, I do believe they are doing their best with stewarding their students and seeking to bring God's kingdom on this earth. I'm thankful for them!

I had various experiences with the staff, but I would say the majority are professional and nice people to interact with. So I would give 4 stars from a secular perspective. However, regarding the biblical/theological/missionary aspect, I should be grieved to report that the school fundamentally misunderstands both the gospel and the great commission. I hope to enlarge this review at some point for the benefit of others but to succinctly state this, the basic truths such as who is the LORD, what is sin, how can a sinner be saved, the need of the new birth, how can a person know if he has been truly converted, etc. are not only lacking in emphasis, but when they are touched on at all, are handled carelessly and are full of many soul-destroying errors. There is much emphasis on a kind of "Christian experience" which one cannot find taught in the Scriptures, and the students are generally assumed to be converted because they have some kind of zeal for missions. Much of the teaching on missions, evangelism, the bible, etc. is very misguided because the foundation of the house is built on sand. Much is said about the Holy Spirit, but His primary work applying the redemption purchased by Christ is scarcely mentioned. I was a student in 2019 who was very zealous for "evangelism" and "missions", reading the Bible, etc. and only several years later discovered that I was headed to a lost eternity unless I came to a saving knowledge of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. But Susan at HTC has been so welcoming and encouraging that he has high hopes (or in his words, "cautious optimism" which is the most excitement you'll get! :D) about again pursuing a degree. I was really pleased to learn that some, if not many, of his credits from MSB will transfer. We await the admissions office decision on that, but many students have successfully made the switch. Everything has been smooth during enrollment for fall, so I'll update this review in a few months. I'm very happy with the admissions process and helpfulness of the staff.

Racism, homophobia, and religious manipulation are three issues that are common social issues & themes throughout the student body and chapel services. Many students, including myself, came to NCU eager to grow in their faith, yet after a year of observing the "God" and the meaning of "being a Christian", many student lose their faith. I am awarding two stars, because there are a few professors that stand out & invest in their students, regardless of whether they fit the NCU mold. However, these staff members are few. Education is mediocre. Rules are controlling. I have never taken a course at the University of Minnesota (UMN). I used to hang out in this area…read moremainly because I like Dinkytown, which is the heart of UMN student life. I like the stores and good eats in this neighbourhood. I've always felt comfortable visiting universities and checking out campuses. It's no different here. I had a friend who got his master and doctorate degrees from this university, so I got to hear about his experiences when we both lived in Minnesota. I am a hockey fan. The UMN has a decent hockey program, both men's and women's. You often see local talent make it to the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Frost rosters, respectively. Alex Goligoski, who recently retired from the NHL, played for the Minnesota Golden Gophers at UMN before he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He won the Stanley Cup with this team, but spent his last three years with the Wild as a defenseman. During his 1,000th NHL game, he scored the game-winning goal, which was quite the storybook ending. As of late, Brock Faber is a solid defenseman on the Wild. He is starting his second full season with the team and was captain of the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He is young, but exceptionally skilled and mature beyond his years. Taylor Heise, who is a forward for the PWHL's Minnesota Frost, played for the Minnesota women's hockey team. The Frost won the Walter Cup and she won the Ilana Kloss Playoff MVP award. If I were looking into academics, UMN has both computer science and mathematics departments that would have appealed to me. It is similar to York University in that you can choose to do either a Bachelor of Arts or Science in either field. Only a Master of Science is available in both. You can also study towards a PhD in either domain. UMN has a Bachelor of Science in Technical Writing and Communication. Many universities start off offering Technical Writing degrees as an Arts degree. I like the shift with universities going with a Bachelor of Science. Technical writers are needed more than ever to explain technical, complex details as clearly and concisely in engineering, medical, and more. It's makes more sense that it's a Science degree. This university does not offer graduate degrees in Technical Writing. It's one reason why I didn't do my Master's here. I don't have any inclination to get a doctorate. If UMN offered one in my chosen field, I'd consider it if the price is affordable and I could do it remotely. It was nice being back in the area. (394)
