I am the luckiest person on the planet to have met Fred! I was visiting Montreal from out of the…read morecountry and had rented a minivan from the airport. A couple of days before flying out, I sideswiped a hinged barrier on the highway, creating a superficial yet long (5+ meters) scrape from fender to fender on the rental van. Knowing that returning the van with that scrape would be an ongoing insurance nightmare, I took a chance and blindly called Fred, finding his number on iPhone maps. I explained my dilemma, and he immediately put my mind at ease. He took in the van the next day and worked on it while I walked to coffee at the neighboring mall. Less than 2 hours later, he called saying to come back. To my amazement, he'd completely buffed out the scrape and the van was absolutely pristine inside and out. What's more, the price he charged me was unbelievably reasonable. The icing on the cake is that Fred is an absolute gentleman. If I lived in Montreal, I would bring my car there all the time, not only because he provides such a good service but to get to see Fred!

The guys kept my car longer than initially scheduled and the entire process cost a few extra hundred bucks, but when I got my car back it looked brand new. We are talking a 6 year Honda that has criss-crossed the entire continent. They made it look absolutely brand new. For an absolutely pittance, I got a brand new car. Bottom line here is that if you are looking for a fast and dirty service, go somewhere else. But if you want the job to be well done, thorough, and professional, than come to Park Lane Auto Body. It's Friday afternoon and there are no repair shops open on Saturday. We had to return for work on Monday. I thought I was lucky when I called Optimal Vitres D'Autos who promised me that they had the replacement window in stock and would charge me $450 cash. Also, he said the downtown address on Yelp wasn't correct and they are in Laval: (texted address below). We arrive the next morning at 9 AM. But to our chagrin, no one was there to meet us, even though the person on the other end of the phone insisted we not be late. When "Gino" finally arrives, he demands the keys to the car saying " Don't waste my time, I am the doctor and you wait for the doctor. I have the power." When I reminded him he was late, not me, he aggressively yelled again that he was the doctor, and as I was his patient, I wait for him. My husband said,"Dude, relax, let's just move forward." He yelled, "I'm not dude! I'm Gino!!!!" Finally, he took the keys and headed back to the shop. 20 minutes later he came back to tell us that he had the wrong window. He insisted that my husband go to the shop area with him so he could prove that he had the wrong window. He had already taken the door apart before checking if he had the correct part. "Gino" tried to persuade my husband to pay him $100 for the window which was from a different model car. He would then duct tape a piece of cardboard into the 12 inches that the window did not cover. He also stated that the window did not exist in all of Canada. (For a Honda Civic, really?) Clearly, this man has no grasp on reality. We left, went to Canadian Tire, and bought a clear shower curtain and tape and returned to the U.S.
