I am a regular customer at this Johnstone location. This store is tucked away off of St. Johns Pkwy…read morein an commercial warehouse area of Sanford. Most would not know it's here unless they are specifically looking for the store or just happen to be at another business in the general area. Staff here are very friendly and personable. The store is stocked with just about anything an HVAC professional needs, what they don't have they can usually get it next day via one of their other locations. This store also carries a good supply of Klein hand tools which I prefer. The store is kept immaculatly clean, their inventory is organized, and shelves are stocked. Pricing is competitive with items I can find online but many times I come to Johnstone versus purchasing online because staff does a great job cross referencing my old parts with new stock. On my most recent visit here I needed several replacement heater restring kits for a HUV unit that supply's fresh air to our kitchen. I needed three to complete the job and bought their last one as a backup should one fail in the future. I also ordered 10 more that should arrive mid April since we use these restring kits on other equipment in the building. The heater is back in service and working as it should, hopefully we will get another 30+ years with the newer kits, only time will tell. Johnstone doesn't sell HVAC equipment or parts to the general public but I believe they will sell hand tools, mastic, Panduit straps, and other miscellaneous items non-accout holders (you might want to call to check before heading over there though). All-in all, I've always received great service from Johnstone and recommend them for all your HVAC needs.

He was very knowledgeable and patient with us. Then it was duplicate-a-key time. I was unfamiliar with how the machine worked and another wonderful associate came to my rescue. It used to be my go-to store as a contractor, but I now find myself frequently avoiding it--especially since Steve's departure from customer service. This week, I placed a large lumber order. When I arrived Friday to pick it up, I discovered that it had not been placed on skids or strapped together so it could be loaded by forklift. Instead, they expected to load more than 1000 pounds of lumber onto my trailer by hand. In over 10 years of shopping at Home Depot, I have never seen a large lumber order prepared this way. I spoke with Sean on the floor, and he assured me that he would have the lumber properly bundled that night so I could return Saturday morning and have it loaded by forklift. When I called Saturday morning, it still had not been done. I continued with my workday and planned to return Sunday. As I was getting ready to leave, I received a notification that Home Depot had canceled my entire order. I called the supervisor and they said they only will strap and bind a lumber order if called in advance. Keep in mind it now takes sometimes 10 to 15 minutes to get a hold of anyone when calling in. How does this make any sense as a policy? Sounds like lazy management not wanting to reissue the order even after their own error. Absolutely ridiculous. This is just one of many recent examples of poor customer service, broken commitments, and a complete lack of support at this location. I'll be taking my business to the Orange City store in hopes of receiving better service. It is disappointing to see what was once a great Home Depot fall apart because of terrible upper management.
