There was a large (25ish) group of Georgians celebrating something, with toasts we did not understand (but happy to join in) and live Georgian musicians playing (no, we did not understand a word, but happy to join in). On arrival we received a free shot of vodka to set the tone. The Hachapuri and Beetroot puree appetizers were excellent. We ordered each of the three vegetarian dishes on the menu and enjoyed them all. You may not have the good fortune to be on the sidelines of a Georgian party, but the restaurant is well worth going out of your way to visit.

When I first sat down I had my doubts about this place. The upstairs tenant above them were very…read morenoisy and a strange mix of throwback 70s American and Foreign songs was played to cover up the noise. This all changed when the first of the my order arrived, the Borscht (a cabbage/beetroot soup with herbs and sour cream). The soup was seasoned perfectly, ingredients cooked evenly, and simply delicious. The Khinkali (dumpling of sorts that resembled an enlarged steamed Chinese dish called Xiaolongbao) was well seasoned and had a good balance of parsley and meat flavor. The only part that made it rather difficult to eat was a lack of a spoon. Eating the dish with a fork+knife proved to be a challenge and watching the juicy dribble away onto the plate pained me. Overall the food was well prepared and tasted delicious. Aside from the fore mentioned issues, this restaurant deserves a solid 4/5. Edit:5/5 the noise factor was out of the restaurants control and the spoon problem could have been solved by me simply requesting one.

The space is small and it's really filled up with tables to a point where waiters have to navigate gingerly but it IS London and space is $$$$ but they could easily offset it with great food but alas, that wasn't the case. Perhaps, an unsuspecting non Russian tourist might enjoy the experience, but as a native, if I had to use one polite word and not a lot of Russian expletives - dreadful would be it. If you own this place or work there you will know that all pickles came from a jar. You'd know that pastries were not made by you and weren't made today but you don't charge yesterday's prices. Even the bread was ehh. Not going to list the dishes but they all were not that tasty and possibly not made by a Russian cook. Notice, I didn't even use the word "chef" which is what this type of restaurant ought to have. A MAJOR disappointment and an expensive one at that. Don't do this. If you happen to travel to LA, I will make Russian food for you or at least tell you where to go

Stellar. Simply stellar. A delicious take on ( largely) Polish food; a lovely dining space (…read morealthough tbh the seating arrangements for tables for two could be better). Staff are both delightful and attentive. The menu changes with fair regularity, but the 'go to' mainstays of Polish cuisine are all there, for example pierogi. You'd be a fool to miss out on the vodka, especially the flavoured variations done in house ( you'll walk past vats of it as you go through the bar). If your picture of Polish food is centred solely around lumpy plates of cabbage, pork, potato, and beetroot, you may be disappointed; all these ingredients definitely feature, but everything is presented in a classy , eminently presentable, and indeed refined manner, bringing in all the "Modern European" artistry you might expect from a London restaurant with a well known chef. To top it all off, it's very reasonably priced - think £50/head to have a couple of courses and drinks in the evening. In short, don't come- I want this place all to myself, although I fear the loyal regulars will frustrate my aim.

The vodka drink was a little sweet and topped with black olive oil. Very unique and I really enjoyed this. 3/5 Spicy martini - this was served with black pepper and was a bit dry, wasn't my favorite. 4/5 dirty martini - a standard drink but the olives were very juicy and tasted really good 2/5 Oysters - 3 for 15 was a bit pricey. It was a little fishy smelling which added to the taste. I didn't like it. Was only served with lemon and tobasco 3/5 Steak tar tar - my partner loved this but I just thought it was ok. 4/5 Shepherd pie - my favorite dish we ordered. Great presentation and tasted really good with fluffy potatoes on top with nice flavored meat. Would love to try the others on the menu. Overall was a fun experience and although I only gave 3 stars I would come back because the shepherds lie was so good.
