ProSchools - Test Preparation Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Pro-Schools course and material were average. The site is not entirely clear to navigate. The biggest issue is they seem to have a hard time reporting to NMLS. I've taken 3 states and 2 out of the 3 have had significant delays. In fact it's day 6 on one and I am still waiting. This is costing me money! My experience has been very disappointing so far. The content is hard to follow due to consistent grammatical errors and overall poorly written content. For example, a quiz questions asks "Who holds the title to real property when a mortgage is given?" The correct answer depends on if the state is a "title theory" or "lien theory" state, which the question does not specify. Additionally, I just read through a section that was talking about "new and upcoming" rule changes that will go into effect on October 3rd, 2015. It's 2018 now...time for an update! Overall, I'm very disappointed with ProSchools and wish I would have spent my money elsewhere. read more

I took the online NMLS course through them. Overall, I was impressed. The layout and lessons were clean and efficient. The only thing is that I couldn't do a search within the lesson for specific words, rather I had to download the PDF and search within that. Nonetheless, it was worth it. Please note that I recently took the national SAFE test with UST component and got 88%. Some questions on proschools were IDENTICAL to the ones used on the test. Lastly, I was averaging 85% - 95% on the quizzes and final exam. If you get those results you should also be able to get around 88% on the state exam. good luck. read more

This review is for the OLD Pro-Schools classroom Insurance course. The teacher was fantastic and almost all students ended up passing their license exam. Teacher taught exactly what needed to be learned to pass the test, and no fluff! Note to Pro schools: The in class training is where Pro-Schools built a name here in Oregon. paid for licensing course online. First couldn't get into the course, then they came back and said that there is a little plus sign, which you can barely see to expand modules. Great. Started my course, then submitted an assignment Saturday which wasn't looked at until Tuesday Morning. Well the deadline for the entire course is Tuesday. went in at work to quickly complete two modules only to find that all the sudden my assignments are now not accepted as passing. All the sudden my answers are too short. So they locked me out of my exam. Fine. So I submit longer answers for them and then they disappear. Now when I log in it says ..sorry you didn't pass . You will have to contact customer service to retake the exam. What a JOKE. Please Please don't use the company. Use Training PRO. Never had one issue using them. I even asked them today to extend my course and they said no way. Girl was very rude on the phone. read more

I used this for my Principal Brokers exam. The information is jumbled together in an unorganized fashion that makes it difficult to comprehend and even more difficult to remember. There are plenty of typos and pictures that have nothing to do with the lesson. Overall, this looks like it was put together in a hurry to meet minimal guidelines that do not prioritize ease of understanding and clarity. read more

Apparently proschools was bought this last year by another company and its appears that they've gone to hell in a handbasket. They recently changed their online curriculum format to what they are calling "the new learning system". It was likely intended to be an upgrade but it's anything but. The software lacks intuition and is nearly unnavigable. I feel like I need to take a class to learn how to take the online course. It reads like a Microsoft excel spreadsheet circa 1992. Each section feels as if you're blindly being pushed through a dark maze in search of the exit. Just awful. I have left many messages and written several emails requesting assistance but I have yet to hear back from pro-schools. Many of the support email addresses they had listed were no longer active. I should have read the reviews before I started taking the class online. I've notice it was a little different this time but had no idea they recently bought by someone else. The new system is horrible and tough to navigate. I have been taking classes from them for over 15 years in the real estate business. I think this will be the last. I will be looking to get my classes done with another company. Also, you can't call the office on Barns Rd directly for help. It's being answer in another state. All I got was a message that the "office is closed due to weather". It's nice and sunny in Oregon today. read more

Very disappointed with ProSchools. I am shocked that both the 20-hr pre course and exam prep course were so terrible that I decided to go to another training school to help me pass the exam. i would NEVER refer Proschools to a friend. Althrough I did get through the 20-hr prelicensing course and passed, it was so dry and extremely boring. The exam prep course on the other hand was a complete waste of my money and time. I do not recommend this school for any courses, especially Online. Very poorly designed, small font writing, hard to follow. The text is not updated and they don't offer an audio option while you reading. You have to pay extra for hard copies/books. I am currently TRYING to take the Oregon Real Estate course, which consists of 150 hours of MIND NUMBING material that even a language arts genius would have trouble reading through. The material is VERY poorly written! I am trying to pass the quizzes without reading the MIND-NUMBING poorly written material, but it times me out and will NOT save my progress! I was just in the middle of a 65 question final exam and I got a "time out" message on my screen. I went back it is making me start the exam from the beginning, all of my time wasted. My plan is to get through this bull shit course and get the Real Estate for dummies book to pass the state exam! All the questions are purposely meant to trick you and most of the answers have nothing to do with the question at hand. Run from this online training program just as fast as you can. I needed my 20 training program my broker choose ProSchools. I had been out of the industry for 9 years I took the online training program and felt brain damaged. I knew if this program was all I had to prepare for the test I would not pass. This school is awful let me repeat get your 20 hours but train at another program. They provide volumes upon volume of information but none of it is on the exam. I just took the exam today and passed my first time with a 93 percent. Take this class zone out get the credit this sing up for Affinity online NMLS training. Articia will teach you how to pass the exam she was dead on.. I took Proschool and their pre test scored a 45 each time awful they are in it for they money not for teaching you how to past the test. I was extremely sceptical about Proschools after reading all negative reviews online. However, after 2 people in the mortgage industry highly recommended them I decided to give them a shot. Prons - all your required PE National and State content is bundled up in one comprehensive course so you don't have to buy state training separately. You can do online classes at your own pace as long as you finish your assignments before estimated finish date you are good. A lot of online programs had limit to do it only during daytime hours and if you have 8am-8pm current job it might be extremely challenging to try to fit education after you are coming back home. I was very happy with my learning schedule freedom. If you finish a section and can not move to another one it gives you a time to review content so you can actually REMEMBER what it was about. Cons - reading plain text for hours may be sometimes boring, I would add more videos and some interactive content to keep people engaged. My instructor Bonnie Paris was awesome, she always reviewed my assignments in timely manner even when I submitted them during late hours, her comments helped me to correct some mistakes in assignments and understand content better. I passed my NMLS test from first attempt - that's what matters. Overall I give Proschools 5 stars. read more

I've been working with this astonishingly crappy site... I'm not saying I'm smarter, faster, or stronger, however: EVERY TIME, I LOG OFF OR NOT... they restart the fucking time on each module... Each MODULE IS LIKE 150 MINUTES... If I get done with the module in 20 minutes, I still have to wait out the other 130 minutes... Ok, I can go through that same module and learn some more shit... But, if my computer shuts down, or takes a nap, it reverts back to the 130 minutes AGAIN!!! So, I have to wait, another 3 fucking hours, again, because their stupid system can't recognize that I've already been on the same module for 3 fucking hours...This has happened over numerous modules, and is very, very, very fucking frustrating... I've talked to the retards in charge and they have not answers to my questions, and just say I have to deal with the time constraint.... I have much better time to deal with life than your stupid fucking shit ass time constraint and making me wait for 2 to 3 hours to get through a module. And I can't get a pass cuz they only work til 7PM ET. So if I want to study after I get home at 6PM, I only have an hour to bitch about the time they are wasting of my life... I purchased the $400 Real Estate Broker package. It took a week and several calls to get a return call only after I threatened to stop payment. Once they fixed the problem I was able to get through the online system, I thought. I took two tests that I thought were the 'final' only to receive a call today saying they forgot to add a whole section to my training which will include five chapters and another final but they are truly sorry. They are the most sorry experience I have had in this process. There was no outline to go by: maybe if they wrote out the outline and expectations it would be clear to the student and the people sending out the study materials. This was recommended by two friends but I just don't see how it can be that good unless things have changed drastically since they got their licenses. Pro Schools need some education and training on how to package and market training programs. read more

I used their online program for Oregon Real Estate and it was horrible. The interface and platform navigation are so antiquated they should be embarrassed to sell this product. I can safely say that I learned absolutely nothing in the six weeks of three-five hours per day that I put into the course. It was like reading someones lecture notes. As a former educator and ed tech professional I was appalled. I resorted to skimming and taking the quizzes and section exams several times just to get through it. A waste of time, money and effort. I bought the PSI Real Estate Exam Prep and PSI Real Estate Exam Practice by Jim Bainbridge from Amazon, studied and self-taught myself for a month and took the exams, which I passed on the first try. This is the worst program for learning that I have ever encountered. The program is hard to navigate and they provide no clear understanding of how the system works. The material itself is not explained well (especially if you've never done real estate before) and there are definitely not enough examples given. I've resorted reading the Real Estate License Exams for Dummies book as an understandable reference. They also provide little info on how the whole licensing process even works. Upon calling the ProSchools office on a few occasions with questions, I am repeatedly told this is a new program and yes there are kinks they need to work through. That's it. Well I've been fumbling through this nightmare for months now and nothing at all has changed so they don't seem to be working through the kinks very well. I have also emailed the company with my concerns and have never heard back from anyone. Do yourself a favor and look for an alternative program for real estate. Looks all good while starting the online course. Don't be deceived. Misspellings on numerous exams within the course. The exams are also written poorly. Classes don't live up to par when it comes to state exam requirements as well. Also, I went to take my proctored final exam (This happened at both of their locations when I took proctored exams, as they had recently moved locations) and they put me with a bunch of customer service employees that were answering phone calls! I never was never able to concentrate! Thought things would change as they moved locations to a nicer looking location but needless to say it did not! But I did give it 2 stars instead of 1 for ONE reason alone. The in class professor Gary Sternberg is the real deal. I took the in class health and life from him and he really knows his stuff. He is a very good educator and very successful in the business as well from what I hear. Only reason I took online for p&c was employer did not pay for in class price. read more
