Jeff was recommended to me by another contractor. He is the nicest guy, friendly, professional,…read moreand reasonable. He replaced the back stoop, tore out and fixed the rotted wood at the landing of my (indoor) back stairs, and while he was at it...when he went for supplies he picked up the screen door that I'd been unable to get. He replaced that as well. He also made me a gorgeous cover for my steam radiator. I'd asked for both front and top venting as the radiator was low and partially blocked by a large chair. He made sure the vents at the top had small holes so my dogs nails would not get stuck if she climbed on top (which she has!) I wish it were possible to post a picture, it really is beautiful.

After having an unexpected roofing issue on a 20 year old roof, I gathered 6 estimates from local…read morecompanies. Ray was very responsive to communication from day 1 and was flexible with my roof needs and concerns. Their estimate was not only the cheapest, but it also contained the most product for the money. Ray fit me in earlier than expected knowing I had an ongoing issue that could cause more damage the longer we waited. The crew was prompt and worked hard through the day. They were professional and cleaned up as they went, multiple times. The next day a different crew came to finish up a few loose ends they didn't get to the day before. They were just as professional and cleaned up as thoroughly as they did the day before. Ray and his son stopped by throughout the project both days to ensure all was going smoothly. I highly recommend them for your roofing needs.

This company was recommended by a good friend that had their roof replaced by Fournier. We…read morescheduled a roof inspection with them. My wife rearranged her schedule to be there. No one showed up or called. Ray and Nathan showed up the following day and apologized for not calling . Ray then climbed on to the roof and did a thorough examination with photos. They submitted an excellent proposal. The price was reasonable. I requested one change and it was immediately added to the estimate and emailed to me. Several more issues developed before I signed the contract. I called Nathan. He told me he was driving and he would get back to me. He never did. I called Ray and suggested that the entire roof may need replacing. He promised to come out the following day. He never showed and never called. This company may do excellent work but the poor scheduling and lack of communication is a major problem for me. I won't be hiring them.

Joe was extremely responsive and came out that day to take a look at the issue. After assessing the extent of the damage, Joe presented a few different options to fix the damage. I was pleased to be able to provide some input on the process; most contractors I have dealt with in the past were not willing to discuss other options. Upon commencing the work, Joe discovered that many of the pieces of suspect wood were in fine shape so they did not replaced. This ended up saving time and money for the project. Split Rock was able to finish the project much quicker than I expected and were extremely reasonable for the quality of the finished product that they delivered. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an affordable and high quality general contractor.
