They pulled up the floor and dried everything out, damaging the custom cabinet trim in the process. It has now been 8 months, and the work still isn't finished. Their team is terrible at returning phone calls or emails. They set up with subcontractors who did not call or show, and there was no follow-up from them unless I reached out. The floor has been partially re-installed with a temporary section that does not match the existing floor. After WEEKS of trying to get the repair finished, and no movement dealing with Kirstie Shy (who runs the local office), I was put in touch with Dennis Shy, who owns said office. I was told he was sorry for the problems, and he would personally oversee getting the repair done. Two weeks later, finally had a subcontractor come to the house to look at colors and sanding. He told me he couldn't do the work until the floor was put back in, but that if I would give him a deposit, he would put me on the schedule. I waiting a few days, hoping I would hear back from Dennis. I did not, so I called him to get an update. He then let me know he thought it would be easier to just let us handle the repairs on our own. He seemed offended when I said I needed someone to come out and finish the job they started, and repair the damage his team had done. Despite having talked through the damage with pictures in the previous call, he claimed he had "no idea" what damage I was talking about. I asked him to come by and look at it. He told me he had taken the day off to "go to the lake," he wasn't going to just drop everything and come running because I said so. He then told me that he decided he would just walk away from the job rather than handle it. I asked for their franchise number, he laughed and said "I'm not about to give you that." He then said he was done talking to me and hung up. I've since contacted the corporate office, and have engaged them in trying to get this handled. It is not a major amount of work, and I'm shocked by the lack of follow-up, follow-through, ownership, and professionalism from everyone involved from this office. At this point, we just want to get the repair for the damage they did and the half-finished job done. I cannot imagine a worse experience to have with a repair company and an owner than I've had with the Shys.
