I've just recently in apartment hunting, which means I've had the pleasure of being in nearly every single flipping estate agent's this side of the Lagan! Property Link was one of many estate agents I visited along the Lisburn Road. I had a fairly specific idea of what I wanted and they were brilliant at trying to meet my needs. They didn't try to just shove any old house onto me, they did just try to keep to what I wanted. Whilst I didn't go with any of the houses they offered, it was a pleasant experience dealing with these guys and I wouldn't have a problem going to them again, whenever I need a new place. read more

They took a £1200 deposit, so we "secured the house". 2 weeks later after they were off a week over the bank holiday of July the 12th, they told us we didn't have the house. "Because we aren't 3 doctors", who got the offer. We were 2 doctors and a PHD researcher... Not good enough to live on the Malone road apparently... But good enough to "hold" our deposit for 3 weeks. We only found this information out when we phoned them to move in. They held 2 £1200 deposits for the same house, hardly ethical. Now homeless, starting a new job in 1 week. Although we didn't actually end up getting a house with Property Link, they were the first people we had ever chosen to help us with our house hunting before our friend's offered us a house with them. Property Link first and foremost is a relatively new estate agents located (ironically) at the top of the street which we ended up moving in to. They specialise in making the whole finding a house thing much less painful than it should be. Myself and my friend hadn't really a notion what to expect so we called in and the gentleman sat us down and talked us through just what it was we should be looking for in a house, what our price range should be and any extra costs, as well as what the neighbours are like and so on. They were very helpful and showed us around a few places, none of which we ended up taking but they still told us what was good and strangely enough what wasn't good. They were incredibly polite and answered most of our questions without too much difficulty. Disappointingly, the man was late for one of our viewings by 20 minutes and came up the street with his shirt hanging out, which wasn't totally professional but the property itself wasn't that great so perhaps he was getting into character... Like I said, we didn't end up taking the properties we were shown but it would definately be worth going back to if I was looking for any ones in the future read more

I moved into my new apartment today after being assured it was freshly cleaned and renovated and paying a months rent in cash, to find the bathroom absolutely toxic with mold. The shower was barely functioning and badly cracked, the oven smoked badly and the "freshly painted" walls and ceiling had patches of ancient peeling paint. I feel like I have been totally scammed by this dishonest firm - save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. read more

Absolutely apalling business ethic here, our boiler was broken for more than a month and despite us contacting them 6 times by phone or email it was not fixed until I threatened to take them to small claims. They absolutely refused to provide an adequate explanation for the delay, or to compensate us in any way. The real kicker is, even though we left the place in pristine condition they still charged us £40 of our deposit for 'cleaning'. I don't know what they were cleaning or if this was just an amount they knew we wouldnt bother disputing because we couldn't afford to wait another two months to get the deposit back as we are both students and in debt. Exploitative, careless, terrible business practice, absolutely avoid renting from these jerks if you have any other choice. read more

I rented a house with Property Link for one year and can honestly say that they were impossible to work with, and one of thew worst estate agents I have ever had to deal with. On arrival at the house we found that it had clearly not been cleaned by the previous tenants, and that they had left much of their rubbish in the house as well for us to deal with. Good start. This was then swiftly followed by them promising to provide us with a bigger fridge which after 2 months of calls,visits, endless hassle and excuses, did appear. Then upon reporting a fault with the shower, they promised that an electrician/plumber would come and check it was ok. This never happened, and 3 days later the shower exploded whilst someone was using it (Not a word of a lie). Conveniently this was a saturday so Monday morning after a phone call a plumber arrived within 20 minutes to make the electric shower safe. Good move. This was then swiftly countered by a bad move, as the shower was then only replaced at the end of the week, and with only one shower in the house, it was clear that we were unhappy. The bottom line is that these 'estate agents' will fob you off as much as possible when you have a problem, but if you are 15 minutes late with your rent you can expect to be knee-capped. Nothing but hassle, caused more problems than they fixed and I will certainly not ever use them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone either. read more

If I could give this no stars I would. Do yourself a favour and do not rent from this company. I signed a 2 year lease and paid my rent on time every month. When I moved into the house it needed a little cleaning from the previous tenants but I didn't mind as thay is normal. The back garden was a state but as it was winter I took that into account. The paper was coming off the wall in three rooms and curtains were covered in damp. I used my own money to fix these things laying a new lawn, replacing the curtains with new ones and putting curtains up where there was no pole or curtains. When I moved out I left a lawnmower, the new curtains/poles and fixed the wallpaper situation in the three rooms. The house was in better order than I got it. When askong for my deposit back they told me that the house needed a deep clean and took photos of things I left, one a mop bucket that was in the house when I got it. They charged me for an extractor fan hood for the cooker even though it was working and I believe was not something I should be responsible for. Basically property link have tried to charge me for leaving new curtains, and things that were in a worse state when I moved in. I have pictures and will not be leaving it there so please do yourself a favour and take a picture of everything when you move into a house rented by property link. When it comes to getting your deposit back they will look anyway to keep as much of it as possible. read more

Property Link have in our 18 months of renting with them demonstrated very poor customer service and that's just to begin with. In their dealings it becomes obvious that they will go to some shameful lengths to extract more money from their tenants. To begin with as tenants it it took them three months to repair a hole in our wall after a major leak, making one bedroom unusable for the same period of time yet we had no such compensation for the issue. When they forgot to renew a standing order for our rent come July 2012 the new management charged us the late fee and upon ending our contract we were promised two weeks rent back after paying for the full month (as someone moved into our apartment two weeks into the month), what was once promised was suddenly refused and taken as a re-letting fee which we are heading to our solicitor for (as such a fee was never in our contract). Moral of the story, be very careful when dealing with property link as you will lose money you are rightfully owed and they will take money from you which they are not entitled to have. read more

Property Link is the worst letting agent I could imagine. They did not inspect our house before we moved in, so upon arrival the mattresses were damp and also soiled with what looked like blood. It was absolutely filthy. Also, the small room with a skylight had no blind attached to it so full sunlight shone through every morning. Yet more of a problem was that it was broken so that it didn't close properly thus letting the cold in. After months of pestering property link about this nothing was done and we had to fix it ourselves. It took them 8 weeks to contact our landlord to remind him that part of our conditions to move in were that we received new sofas not stinking of smoke. It took them over half a year and me visiting their office in person every day for a week to get us a new hoover which was not taped together. Let me also note that neither the sofas nor the hoover were actually new when they finally arrived. When we arrived in the house it appeared to be damp-free however throughout it became clear that the damp was just painted over. A housing inspector was called and warned us that it was a serious problem and any worse would affect our health, property link still did nothing about it. Every issue that arose with our house was dealt with dreadfully, and the only way in which anything got done was if we went into their offices everyday. This was also an extremely unpleasant experience due to how rude they were. To the point that they denied having spoken to me on the phone just ten minutes before in order to avoid having to admit they'd done nothing about my issue. I would never rent with property link again, they should be ashamed of the way things are run there. read more
