The most ridiculous office I ever worked with. They don't even deserve a one star. They are quick to take your money but give you a royal run around when time comes to get your deposit back. First they tell you that by law they don't have to refund your depo for 21 days. Then, they tell you they mailed the check but it got lost in the mail even though you get every other mail perfectly fine. They don't tell you they will be deducting huge amount of money (almost $400 in my case) for their remodeling, shampooing carpets, and additional cleaning fees even though the apartments was left in a perfect condition and I was the 1st tenant in that brand new apartment. During the final walk through the manager was not able to find one item to fix. In addition, they don't even give you the breakdown to make you aware of the amount of the final check they will be mailing to you...that is if they mail it at all. It's been 26 days now since I left the apartment where I was living on temporary basis due to a flood in my own home, and I still don't have my deposit check. I have been calling this office for the past 3 weeks and their excuse is that the person you need to talk to is out sick, the manager just left to lunch at 3:30 and when the receptionist calls you back she cannot give you any concrete info because she doesn't know what's going on. Finally, when you get to talk to the right person, she tells you that your file is in the manager's office who is not there and the door is locked, so even though you finally got to talk to the right person, she still cannot help you. I just called this morning asking to speak with Darylene (the person I dealt with in the beginning). The receptionist told me she is all by herself and cannot help me because she has too many lines ringing. When I asked her if she mailed out the check that they promised to mail last Friday, she said she doesn't know and put me on a 20 min hold. When I got frustrated and demanded answers, she put me back on hold and then someone by name Sonya answered wanting to take a message because Theresa has too many lines to answer. I said no, because obviously now she is not alone in the office any more and maybe Sonya can answer their mounting phone calls while Theresa can finally talk to me after 20 min of making me hold. Sonya didn't know what to say and put me on hold. This time Darylene came on the line saying that Theresa got so upset from talking with me that she left her desk in tears. I was stunned at the fact that Darylene was actually in the office that entire time while they keep telling me that she is out sick and no one else knows what's going on. When I confronted Darylene she gave me the same answer as Sonya, that she just walked in even though the time was this odd 9:38 a.m. Aparately, both Sonya and Daryleen walked in in at the time I got upset on the phone at 9:38?? Then she conveniently refused talking to me or provide any answers saying that I was screaming at Theresa when in fact I didn't even get a chance to speak normally with her due to a 20 min hold. I did however lose my temper a little bit with Sonya when she told me that Theresa is busy answering other incoming calls. In short, Darylene hung up on me. 25 days since I left this apartment and have a hard time making ends meet since I was counting to pay my bills with this money. And now I'm finding out that they deducted almost $400. I don't even want to mention all the issues I've had with their plumbing, vertical blinds, screen doors not sliding, dish washer not working, and the only elevator going to the 6th floor breaking down every week. Their carpenter doesn't speak English and you cannot explain to him what's wrong when he finally shows up after 2 weeks the filled out maintenance form has been submitted for repairs. In addition, numerous tenants were knocking on my door asking to team up with them to complaint against the management for various reasons, the biggest of all is the constant shaking of the building (every 5 minutes) that feels like an earthquake. Divorced parents were afraid to bring their kids to the apartment not to scare them. While I lived their for 8 months on temporary housing, I watched people move out who had just moved in or in the middle of breaking their lease contract. The saddest part is that the manager living on site was so unhappy and depressed that he was taking medication due to the stress this management company was causing him even though he was working so hard every day.
The building is in a prime location, no question about it...but there are so many draw backs that make it not worth the money and your health do deal with such unprofessional team of property management employees and their manager.
