For a testing center, it's well run, organized, and secure…read more Follow the guidance of the staff and you'll have no problems! - no study material allowed in the building at all, so study beforehand - best to wear low maintenance clothes, they make you pay yourself down, roll long sleeves up, unfold cuffs, turn out pockets, to check for cheating material before entering testing room - all your stuff goes in a locker in the waiting room, unless you ONLY bring an ID, you take your ID with you everywhere (if you have an exam with breaks, you need it to get back into the room). - you have your photo taken before your exam for the purposes of identity verification before you enter the testing room, glam up... or not! - read the rules, don't break them or they will be sassy (you'll deserve it), you can get kicked out of the center and exam canceled for breaking them! Inside the testing room: earplugs saved me, but unfortunately if you're sat next to someone coughing incessantly nothing can save you... unless you spend precious minutes of your exam time to make a complaint. And even then they may not be able to fix it because that person is in the middle of their exam, too. You get all the extras your exam allows (whiteboard, calculator, etc). All in all a nice testing experience, only as stressful as the exam itself!

This facility has the full time mission of supporting training of the Dallas Fire and Rescue personnel of the Dallas Fire Department. This facility is exceptionally maintained and has some very interesting and sometimes HOT items used for training. There are buildings for scaling, stairways for climbing, towers for rappelling, buildings for burning, a disaster area and lots of classrooms. There are open fields used for training, search training and obstacles for search dogs. Parking is plentiful but be sure not to block in the many driveways. They recently upgraded the auditorium and made it more friendly for the class room environment with swivel chairs and larger writing surface. If you get the opportunity to come for a DFD graduation or CERT training, you will be impressed!

We came in expecting a supportive and understanding environment, and instead left feeling confused, judged, and honestly a bit shocked. After just a trial day, I was told my child was not invited back -- with very little clear explanation. For a school that specializes in children who may need time to adjust, this felt extremely premature and contradictory to what they advertise. Children with communication challenges don't always show their best on day one -- that's exactly why families seek out schools like this. What was most concerning was the lack of professionalism and communication. When my child was struggling to express something on the playground, I experienced a moment from a staff member that felt dismissive -- including an eye roll -- rather than supportive or patient. As a parent, that is incredibly unsettling, especially in a school that is supposed to be equipped to handle communication challenges with care and understanding. Instead of guidance or collaboration, I was left with more questions than answers. If this school is truly designed to support children with different learning needs, there should be more patience, clearer communication, and a willingness to work with families -- especially on a first visit. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect the inclusive and supportive environment that is promoted. I would not recommend based on our experience.

This School has changed our lives!! For the better. My son started there with no ability to read or…read more comprehend at his age level. We were at a very well known school that unfortunately would not continue to educate my son and less I medicated him. Him only being in kindergarten that was not an option at the time for us. OakHill not only helped my son learn to read but now has made it where reading is one of his favorite past times. The teachers are wonderful and truly care about the students along with the principal and all staff members. We have been at the school for going on six years now and you cannot put a price on the confidence the education and happiness this son has helped and still and my son. If I could give 100 stars I would, there actually is not enough stars to grade how amazing this school is. I read the review above stating that the principal is a bully I'm sorry that that person had an experience in that manner. In the six years I have gone there I have not heard anyone else complain about that problem and frankly feel that it is false. Many many would agree that Oakhill and their staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone involved in your child's education and happiness is on your team. I am a single mother and father is not in the picture. I have not once felt judged or looked down upon. In fact I have never felt more comfortable and confident in my life knowing Oakhill is in our lives. Thank you Oakhill and Staff for helping me educate and raise such a smart sweet boy. We have gone to the best and we have researched it all. Oakhill Is not just a place for education, it is also a place that we call home. If you are so blessed to have a child that would need the type of education Oakhill provides then you would be doing your child and yourself a disservice if you didn't give them a try to see what options are needed for your child. I remember a teacher having us attend a pro-life club meeting in which we were shown a video comparing abortion to the Holocaust (I was only 12 at the time and had just learned what abortion was). Additionally, there was a girl in my class who, still being a big Christian, very openly believed in evolution. Virtually all the other students in my class (and some even from other grades) made fun of her for it, and the teachers never did anything about it.
