I called Pro Line Appliance Repair because my dishwasher was not draining properly. It was giving me a code. I thought it might be the filter so I cleaned out the filter to the best of my ability but was still getting a code. I called Pro Line and told them that the diswhasher wouldn't drain properly and gave them the error code. They said they would send someone out the next day. The service call would be $49.95 and it would be applied to the repair if I chose to do it. The tech came the next day, thinking that he was here to work on a clothes washing machine. This was likely due to a language barrier on the part of the woman who booked the appointment as our address had to be repeated over and over also due to a language barrier. When the tech got to the dishwasher he looked at it a long time, then tried to run a cycle, got the error code, looked up some stuff on his phone and called someone, then looked at the connection under the sink. Then just looked at the dishwasher some more. He did not pull it out. He did not empty the water to check the filter. Basically no hands on work was done. Then he told me that the pump was bad and that it would be $388 to replace the pump--parts, labor, tax, etc. I told him I would have to think about it and so he charged me $49.95 for the service call which I unfortunately paid. I asked him how he knew the pump was bad and he said the fact that the dishwasher was not draining indicated the pump was bad. After he left, we talked to my brother in law who lives out of town and he asked some good questions. I called Pro-Line back and talked to the man in charge. I asked again how they KNEW the pump was bad and needed to be replaced instead of a clogged filter or kinked line or something else. The boss told me that when the dishwasher will not drain they always replace the pump and that fixes it. I asked why there was a need for a service call then since I had already told them it was not draining and gave them the code and they could have given me the quote over the phone. I asked why they didn't check the filter or anything else. He said the 49.95 was just the service call. If they actually did anything to the dishwasher, it would be a $200 labor charge. He continued to justify the tech who had checked nothing and done nothing so as were getting no where and I finally hung up on him and did a little YouTube research. It turns out with my dishwasher that if the filter is clogged, it shuts down and gives an error code. After the filter is cleaned (which I did) the code has to be cleared. I found a video that showed how to do that and cleared the code and now the dishwasher, including the pump that "needed" to be replaced for almost $400, is working perfectly. I honestly don't know if these guys are incompetent or fraudsters (likely both), but they charged me $49.95 for nothing and recommended a repair that was not necessary. I would have gladly paid the $49.95 if he had come out, checked the filter and cleared the code--at least he would have done something. I assume if they always replace the pump, that will also involve clearing the filter and resetting the codes--so replacing the pump always "works"--just like if your car was out of gas and the mechanic put in a new gas tank which he then filled with gas and the car ran again. "Every time we put in a new tank and fill it with gas, that seems to solve the problem." But this guy didn't seem to know anything or he likely would have reset the code in the least. read more

( Prolinerepair.com ), 980-982-2424 Robert, the owner, works on all types of appliances, washer, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, etc. Our five-year-old LG refrigerator started losing its coldness and within a few hours it lost its power to keep our foods frozen or cold. Our store warranty had provided a new compressor only two years ago and already it had failed to work any longer. We called the store, but because we had not bought the extended warranty, we had no options. They told us they could not send a technician for another two weeks! ===========Frantic that we would lose all our products, we looked online for a local repair person, this was at 8 PM! - Robert answered right away! He assured us that he would be there the very next morning. Not only was he prompt in coming to our home, but he did a thorough examination of the problem and gave us two options. The cost was high but his quote was accurate and fair when we saw the work he had to do! We decided to go with the full purchase of a brand-new upgraded compressor. Anyway, ((the next morning)) he came right on time and spent a good three and 1/2 hours putting in the new compressor. He is highly knowledgeable & skilled technician! He came very well equipped, did a very thorough job, [placed special plastic] under the wheels of the refrigerator to ensure floors would not be scratched. He was very efficient and everything was cleaned up in a timely manner. Then, he gave us clear instructions as to how long to keep it running before adding food back into freezer and said he would be available to come anytime if we had any further issues (1 year parts and labor). He was very professional, and you could see that he had excellent training. Thank you, Robert, for your fine work. We will be very happy to recommend you to our neighbors in our retirement community. I call Pro Line to come and check my refrigerator because it wasn't getting cold my freezer works fine just the refrigerator not working. so the repair man came out his name was Tim he came with no tools just look at the refrigerator and said it's the fan and I don't have the part I will have to order it so he said he needed $150 for service fee and ordered the part I wrote him a check for that about and he said after he fix it I will owe him $269.88 cents three days later he said the part was in and he came out to fix it but the refrigerator never did get cold so I called him back he pretend like he was put on a sensor but he didn't I ask to see the old sensor and he said he threw it in my trash can I look in my trash can because I knew it was empty and wasn't anything in there so he knew I had caught him in a lie so he said " OH well " and grab his tool box and slammed my door so hard I was afraid . I called the company and told them the refrigerator was still not working and I wanted my money back so I could get another one they said they would give my money back except for the service fee she said it would take 3to 5 days to receive it I agreed. then one hour later the guy came to my house wanted to remove the part he put on there and I said no if he didn't have my old part to put back on he couldn't remove it because my freezer may stop working and that part is mines until I get my money in my hand . they called and texted me 12 time wanting to get that part they sent me a picture of a check that I would receive in the mail and it looked like a fake check . this is the worst company I'm warning everybody to be careful in dealing with this company the repair guy doesn't know how to fix nothing I don't think he can fix a toy refrigerator please be careful read more
