The material itself is incredibly useful for self defense and learning traditional Taekwondo and Hapkido forms if you're interested in that as well. Another review here is rather angered at the black belt testing and how it is formatted, however as a second degree black belt I'll speak truthfully. Yes, the black belt test is hard. It's to show that you have learned over the years and what you are capable of. The private classes on Saturday mornings are one of the best things I'd recommend since the grandmaster or main instructor at the time would teach you accordingly to your level and help you improve at a higher rate almost. Taking the private classes does not guarantee you will pass the test, it is up to your hard work and efforts to learn. The location and class itself is well organized, the instructors know how to explain things, and it's well kept. As a whole I would recommend you bring your kids here as it teaches self defense and the kids, parents, and instructors are incredibly kind.

I chose this studio because of a referral from my best friend who's kids compete in tournaments. While my son is slower and less athletic than the other kids his motivation is to keep getting the next level up. I like how the coaches know the kids by name and take the time to instruct with demonstrations and watching them closely while they grapple. I tell my son he doesn't need to win, just keep trying. After a year and a half we are still here twice a week trying our best. He's about to earn his grey and white belt and I'm proud so of him. Johnny was a great instructor and the entire gym had a friendly and welcoming vibe. The Taekwondo classes for my daughter are four times a week which makes my daughter very disciplined and we are really happy about it. She also loves the class and can't wait till the next one.
