April 2025 virtual class with John D Great class, John is a true expert in his field and gives excellent insights into Project Management and the PMP exam. I followed his recommendation and guidance and passed the first time using the PMA and PMI study tools. Strongly endorse. read more

Wayne was an incredible instructor! He clearly loves his job and genuinely wants to see us all succeed and gives us all the information we need to do so. He was very engaging and kept me attentive (even being that we were all virtual) with his style of teaching and resources he provided. I have zero items for him to improve on, he's clearly an expert! Would recommend taking the course with him time and time again. I feel confident that I'll pass the exam on my first try! read more

I took the December 2024 virtual class with John D. The class and the resources from PMA helped me pass my PMP exam.

To achieve the PMP certification, one must have experience as a project manager, must receive 35 hours of approved education, and pass an exam. I used Project Management Academy's class to fulfill the education requirement. I opted to take the one week course. And I'm glad I did; I didn't want to drag it out. During the course, our instructor Sean Coyle, hit all of the right highlights of the PMBOK that one needs to know to be a competent project manager and to pass the exam. We were aptly socially distanced in the room for safety and required to wear masks. (This was before widespread vaccinations so rules may have changed.) Materials were well taught and I passed the exam on my first try, scoring Above Target on all three sections. I recommend the course if you're considering getting a PMP. I suggest ensuring that your work experience will be sufficient to get the certification before enrolling. In conclusion, I recommend this program. read more

In February 2024 I took John Dokos PMA class and in August I passed the PMP. I highly recommend this class and John Dokos as an instructor.

I took the PMP Bootcamp course January 3-6 with David Smyth, and it was a great experience. I went into the course with some trepidation, but David did a great job of guiding the class through the exam material. He was very patient as he introduced us to new concepts, and he answered our questions. I also appreciated how the PMA provided ample resources for studying once the course was over. I took advantage of the mock exam review, the quizzes, and two practice exams. Thanks to the PMA, I passed my exam on my first attempt, with two out of three of the subject areas above target. Now that I have the PMP credential, I'm excited for the professional opportunities ahead of me. Thanks, David! read more

I am so happy with my Project Management Academy experience. I attended the Feb 2021 virtual PMP Bootcamp with John Dokos. I chose the 8 day - half day lessons, because it would have felt like too much information to learn each day. John was extremely helpful and taught us all he knew about Project Management using his real life experience examples. PMA & John also provided me with many study tools that truly helped me prep for the test. I ended up passing the PMP on my first try, above target in all domains. I couldn't have done this without John's instruction! read more

Mike Strachan was my instructor for the PMP 35 hour class I attended through PMA. He was extremely knowledgable with not only the content and how to present the material; his ability to demonstrate real life application of the concepts was invaluable to better understand the different topics and their relationships. I left the course with a solid plan of what steps were next in the process and the tools provided by PMA have been a great source of support. My experience with PMA has been great and I would recommend them to anyone looking into an education provider. read more

Just took the PMP Exam Prep with Mike Strachan and was highly impressed! Mike is an excellent teacher that pairs up real world knowledge with thorough understanding of the content. Mike is an amazing story teller that helps break down any topic into something relatable and understandable. I came away confident, prepared and a better man, something Miguel will never achieve. If you take the exam prep with Mike, you will understand that last line. read more

I have a great strategy as a result of this course to best prepare myself for PMP testing. Mike Strachan was extremely knowledgeable, professional, funny, relatable, and respectable. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for real life examples to help remember information, and bullet proof strategy and technique tips to confidently prepare for exam day. read more

I highly recommend the PMP course with the Project Management Academy (PMA) to anyone interested in taking the PMP exam. I took the 4-day course provided by PMA in Denver, CO. My instructor was Mr. David Smyth. David was an excellent instructor that provided great insight and real-world examples of the material being covered. He presented the material at a good pace and clarified any questions we had. PMA also included very helpful online study resources such as practice exams, Q&As, and flashcards. After taking the course and about 4 weeks of solid studying, I was able to pass the exam on my first attempt. I can genuinely say this would not have been possible without attending the course and utilizing the extra study resources. Thanks again PMA and David for your help! read more

This training is so helpful - I highly recommend! Mike Strachan is engaging, and brings to life the black and white text. You can tell he has immersed himself in the material and can teach to multiple styles of learning. I feel so much more prepared and armed with tools to succeed, not only with the PMP, but with real-life applications of the material. Thank you! read more

I took Project Management Academy's PMP Boot Camp December 17-20. It was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in the Denver Tech Center. Jim Stewart was the instructor. The class and Jim did a great job helping me prepare for the PMP Exam. I passed the exam on my first attempt with an overall rating of high proficiency. The class was well organized and Jim was a top notch instructor. He is very knowledgeable. The materials and resources might be the biggest advantage of the class. The binder, study guide, and laminated reference (cheat) sheets make learning and studying so much easier. Additionally, students have access to an online resource center, including videos and practice tests. This was the key to my success. The videos basically go through the entire four day course again, section by section. You follow along in your three ring binder from class, pausing the videos and making additional notes, or referencing things in the PMBOK. There is a timed test of 40-60 questions after each section (there are also full 200 question practice exams). I'm convinced using the online study aids is how I passed the exam on my first try. The strategy guide was also very helpful in learning the 'tricks' PMI uses when writing their questions. Project Management Academy was not the cheapest option but I'm very glad I spent the extra money and chose them. It seems there are a ton of fly-by-night outfits offering bargain PMP boot camps. Project Management Academy provides top notch instruction, materials, customer service (real people who speak English), and a nice classroom setting. The included breakfast, snacks, and lunch were great too. read more

I just wanted to drop a note for Mike Strachan as being a fantastic instructor for the PMP Course. The material can be dry and he was able to turn it into an enjoyable often entertaining week of learning. I really appreciate not only his ability to keep us entertained but how in control of the class he was the whole time. We stayed on track and covered a lot of material. It was well worth the money. I would highly recommend taking his class before attempting the exam. He covered so many unknowns I would have never thought about. Thank you Mike! read more

I took the PMP bootcamp from PMA and passed the PMP test on the first attempt. The class was indispensable in passing the exam. I studied very hard beforehand but study alone is insufficient. Jim Stewart, the instructor, did an excellent job focusing on the most important portions of the test. The materials which were provided were also excellent. I had one friend who joined me for the class and he passed the exam as well. I don't know what the success rate is for other classes, but I do know that the PMA boot camp will significantly increase your chances for success! read more

I was in the November 6-9 class for veterans. I found it extremely useful. I have been taking PM courses through Drexel University and i felt that this course really put things in perspective for me; I ended up understanding the process a lot better. My instructors were Mike Strachan and Chris (I am forgetting his last name), which were both fantastic instructors. Mike being a vet definitely aided him in articulating and give examples that we could relate to and understand easier. I would highly recommend this course to anybody that is trying to take the PMP exam. read more

If you are planning to take the PMP Exam, then I highly recommend taking the PMP Boot Camp with the Project Management Academy. Taking this course made the process of learning the material, studying, and taking the exam MUCH less stressful. I also have a good feeling that PMA will continue to be a useful resource throughout my career. More importantly the instructor was great. He was knowledgable on the material, gave us easy tips for remembering key information, had great insight on the exam, and made time for students after the class to assist with studying. He was also very encouraging to all students, and had such a great attitude about life, which made the class enjoyable. The PMA also has great online resources and webinars for students to utilize in preparation for the exam. I found both the online tools and the webinars were incredibly helpful, particularly the practice exams, which made me feel comfortable with the test itself. I had a great experience and highly recommended signing up with the PMA. read more

I took the PMP Boot Camp offered by Project Management Academy in Dec 2014. The instructor was Gregg Ritchie. Both Gregg's instruction and the Project Management Academy (PMA) curriculum are excellent. PMA structures the material in a more chronological (and as a result more realistic and understandable order) than the PMBOK, which simply structures it by Knowledge Areas. Gregg has 100% expert knowledge of the material and provides helpful examples from his own extensive experience in the field. Not only can he quote a definition or an equation, but he can give you the exact page number from the 580+ page PMBOK. In addition to the in-class instruction, PMA also offers access to incredible online resources- video lectures, e-flash cards, practice tests, and live, weekly Office Hours with PM experts who can address any of your questions. The Academy's PMP Strategy Guide is also a great resource and gives excellent suggestions and tools for studying for the exam- examples of trick questions, commonly confused concepts, as well as "what to expect on exam day" information to help you prepare. At the conclusion of the course, Gregg personally provided practice calculations and recommendation for further reading. But most impressive of all, Gregg gave the class a life-long offer to provide assistance in any way he could. He demonstrates a true commitment to the Project Management community. read more

I would highly recommend this course for anyone interested in developing the foundational principles of project management . I attended the August 2017 boot camp taught by Greg Ritchie. This was one of the best boot camps I have ever attended and the knowledge of the instructor and his presentation was priceless. I came to the boot camp with limited prior project experience ,and left confident that I had a solid foundation to build on and could apply the project mgt skills to new employment opportunities.I easily passes the CAPM and plan to take the PMP next year. Thanks Greg! read more

If you're looking for a PMP bootcamp experience that will prepare you the right way for the PMP exam, then look no further than the Project Management Academy for your training! They hit all the high notes that a bootcamp experience needs to hit to set you on the path to not only pass one of the hardest certification exams out there (which I did on the first attempt), but also to actually understand that material fully. This includes: Good venue choice for the training (easy to get to, quiet, comfortable, with coffee, food and lodging nearby) Outstanding classroom materials and study aids that you will need as you study for the exam Truly outstanding follow-up support via their online student portal to help you assemble your application and prepare for the exam (including practice exams), and a guarantee that if you follow their program, you will pass the exam (see their site, that's a paraphrase of their actual promise). http://projectmanagementacademy.net. Most outstanding of all: Gregg D. Richie, PMP, who is without a doubt one of the best classroom instructors I've ever worked with. He has extensive real-world project management experience to back up his instructional skills. Gregg is also a great story teller. :) The material is extremely challenging, and getting through that much information in 3.5 days is like drinking from a fire hose, but Gregg kept a room full of brain-saturated people with him for the entire time. 5+ STARS!!! read more

If you are planning to take the PMP Exam you'll appreciate the preparation and knowledge that the Project Management Academy (PMA) provides with the PMP Boot Camp. I took this course in Denver March 14-17. The instructor, Martin Payne, was professional and personable. He made learning the material interesting and was great at keeping us engaged for the duration of the course. The PMA's curriculum, additional learning tools, and sample test are an excellent resource to learn the PMBOK material in a more logical and chronological order (and as a result more realistic and understandable) than the PMBOK. Where the PMBOK structures the information by Knowledge Areas, PMA provides the information in real world, process order - Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor & Control, and Close. Martin not only knew the material but also had experience putting into practice. He provided constant tips to help us remember key information along with helpful insights on the exam. In addition, the PMA also has great online resources and webinars for students to utilize in preparation for the exam. After the course finished on Thursday, using the online resources all weekend, I took the exam the following Tuesday and passed. I had a great experience and highly recommended signing up with the PMA. read more

I took the 4-day course held Jun 22-25, 2015 in Greenwood Village with Martin Payne as the instructor. I've been managing projects for years but I had no idea how best to complete the credentialing process or prepare for the exam. The PMBOK manual is now 580 pages - where do you even start? Marty solved all that. I was in a class of about 15 people -- experienced, sharp people but we didn't know much about passing the PMP exam when we started. Over the 4 days Marty took us through the PMP Process Groups and Knowledge Areas, with an emphasis on 1) what the 47 processes are, 2) how they link together, 3) how to recall them and use use his teaching as a basis for 4) what the PMP would actually test! We were pretty clueless at the start, and we all hoped we wouldn't get called on for Marty's first practice questions the morning of the first day. By the time we took the practice exam on Day 4 we all had a solid grounding in PMP, and we could reasonably argue about the questions. You still need to plan more study after the course, but that was 3 weeks ago and I took and passed the PMP exam this morning on my first try! I can't say enough about Marty -- he was sharp, engaged and entertaining throughout the 4-day class, and his training made organizing the material and passing the exam possible. Whatever expectations I had before the class began, Marty exceeded them! The Project Management Academy materials are wonderfully thought-out (and a great help) as well. If you want the PMP credential you can't do better than Marty Payne and Project Management Academy. He couldn't have done more to earn my respect and my thanks...! read more

I took the virtual class 6/22/15-6/26/15 with Gary Lind. While I obviously have an extensive PM background, I have never been part of a PMO or used the formal PMBOK method. I do not know how long it would have taken me to pass the PMP test without the class and Gary. (With PMA and Gary-1st time!) The resources provided were exactly what I needed to supplement the PMBOK. Gary was equally essential in highlighting test-relevant items, recommending an effective test prep approach, and providing critical information and resources not contained in the PMBOK. His feedback and recommendations were also critical for me to successfully complete my PMP application. I know of others who have taken other courses and were far less prepared to take the exam. PMA is well worth the money. read more

I attended the PMP Prep course offered by the Project Management Academy. The course did a very good job of covering the PMBOK guide as well as illustrating the different concepts throughout the book. Additionally, the access PMA provides you to test questions, flash cards, course reviews, etc. was fantastic. I passed the PMP certification three weeks after completing their course and am confident I would not have done so without attending the course and utilizing the resources they provided. read more

Took the PMP Boot Camp at the end of September with Gregg Richie as the instructor. The class was amazing. Jam packed with info, but laid out in an easy to understand, easy to digest way. The materials alone were worth the cost of the class. I used all of them in the two months I studied for the PMP. AND, I passed the exam! If you are looking for the best prep course for the PMP exam, Project Management Academy has you covered. The company also has phenomenal customer service. read more

Marty Payne conducted a relatively pain free training session, and I was successful in passing the PMI/PMP examination.

I took the Project Management Academy bootcamp in April, 2014 in Denver, CO and was very impressed. My instructor Gregg Richie was an incredible instructor, able to distinguish different learning styles and adjust class interaction to elicit creative thinking and positive response. Unfortunately, I encountered a bit of a learning curve and was not successful with my first exam experience, but after additional study time, which included the project management academy study materials, on-line portal quizzing and one-on-one instruction from Gregg, I just took the exam again on Jan 11, 2016 and passed! I have recommended Project Management Academy to others pursuing this certification and especially recommended Gregg's instruction! read more

This is a very intense course but very well put together. Mike Strachan made the course very interesting by using real examples and humor. I had to chuckle a few times. I recently attended (July 2014) the PMA boot camp in the Denver Tech Center. Gaining PMP certification is critical to my current job and I needed to pass the exam as quickly as possible. This course was very well organized and taught by a recognized expert (Gregg Richie) in the field of program management. The course and associated training materials, and access to the PMA website allowed me to quickly and effectively learn a vast amount of material in a short time. The course especially helped in my preparation for taking the exam and also provided me with a lot of confidence going into the exam, which I successfully passed within five days of finishing the training. If you are thinking of taking the PMP exam, I HIGHLY recommend taking the PMA boot camp course - especially if you can get in one taught by Gregg Richie. read more

Took the PMP Boot Camp in June 2015 with Martin Payne as the instructor. He was very helpful during breaks and after class too, really went above and beyond. The class was great, full of a variety of information. Like others have said, the materials alone were worth the cost of the class. The online resources along with the class are great too. I passed the exam! The customer service is also great if you ever need to call and ask questions. Good luck! read more

The 4-day PMA boot camp was a terrific way to bring my previous PMP education together and prepare me for the exam. The PMA instructor, curriculum and delivery were excellent, I found the combination of long-term studying with online material and a different instructor, and then a boot camp to be very effective. It was great to have the curriculum delivered by a different source as to get a broader perspective of key points and concepts. read more

I was really pleased with my experience with the Project Management Academy. I participated in the virtual two-weekend Boot Camp. It was like drinking from a firehouse- but my instructor, Lenora, did a great job of really breaking down the material and giving us helpful hints to remember the concepts. After the class concluded, I spent about 2 months studying (the holidays pushed my test date back) and passed on my first try. I feel very strongly that I could not have passed without the online training modules and quizzes, practice exams, and flash cards. I am thrilled to have joined the PMP community and I'm grateful for the support obtained through the Project Management Academy. read more
