I attended the August 2016 class in Nashville. John D did a great job providing PMP test tips and study tips. The material was well presented and helped us (of all experience levels) learn the foundational items to help put us on the path to pass the PMP. To level-set, I have been managing projects in a variety of roles for the past 15 years, not the least of which was as a VP of Operations. I never used learned project management techniques, just logic. The PMP seemed out of reach. I earned certifications such as Six Sigma, Scrum Master, Change Management but still had to face the fact that I had not earned my PMP. A week after the Project Management Academy boot camp, I went on vacation for 3 weeks. I picked up the study materials twice during that period and only for a short time. I scheduled my test as soon as I got home in hopes of putting pressure on myself to study more. Ten days after coming back from vacation, I was in the testing center. Three and a half hours later, the results showed I had passed the PMP exam. Luck? Nah. Lots of study? Maybe a little. The boot camp? YES. I 100% suggest taking the PMP Bootcamp class with Project Management Academy. The training materials that were provided by PMA were so helpful and the instructor was absolutely fantastic. Gary Lind's class was the best investment I could have made. He gave us such great guidance on how to remember certain things and broke the material down to where it was easier to understand. He made himself available for questions after class and was really invested in our success. After taking Gary's class in December of 2020 I felt way more confident in my study plan and felt great walking into the test in January 2021. I booked the first available test date of 2021 and took the revised exam with five weeks to study. I passed with all above targets in each area. He and Project Management Academy did a masterful job of navigating and presenting the information in such a way that made the information easier to remember. In addition, his real-world examples really served to help lock in the multitude of concepts needed to pass the exam. I once was given free virtual training on the PMBOK through an employer; however, I just couldn't stay engaged or alert. I knew that if I were to ever need the training again, I would HAVE to go to an in-class setting. Fast forward 8 years or so, and I'm given the opportunity to take boot camp training and take the PMP exam. Due to my work schedule, I was forced to settle with virtual training yet again. That said, Wayne Brantley was our instructor for the course, and he did an AWESOME job at keeping the class interactive and engaged. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject matter was unmatched. I attended the virtual PMP Bootcamp October 2020 with John Dokos for 2 weeks of 4 half-days. John did an exceptional job sharing relevant examples of projects that brought the material to life and enabled me to learn the concepts well. John provided ample guidance on how to apply, prepare, and pass the PMP exam during the class. John also was very responsive after the course to my questions as I prepared for the exam. Studying for the PMP can be overwhelming to say the least. I tried to tackle this on my own for over a year but felt like a bootcamp would hold me more accountable for studying and passing the exam. I signed up for the bootcamp one week before it started (Nov 16 - Nov. 19, 2020) and had a great experience. All information presented was organized and well thought out. Crystal provided our class tips and tricks throughout the week that stayed with me even while taking the exam - I couldn't have asked for a better instructor! PMA gives you all of the resources you need in order to be successful (study slides, practice questions/exams etc.) I studied for 1.5 weeks after the bootcamp and passed the exam on the first try! I had the PMP prep class in August 2022 class with John D. The class was on line afternoons Monday - Thursday for two weeks. He ran the class excellent. There is a lot of material to cover and I would recommend the two week class instead of a one week class. John gave great material and study guides. His examples were real world and helped me remember. He also prepped for the exam which was great. He covered concepts to remember when taking the exam. He also showed how to attack the questions and guidelines when choosing answers. I passed the PMP exam on my first attempt with minimal studying. I walked into the bootcamp with the required experience to take the PMP and walked out with a holistic understanding of the exam and a great study plan. I was in the January 2017 section, and successfully completed my PMP exam 3 weeks later. The class covered all of the material, and required a 4 hour mock exam at the end.
