I've maintained the relationship with the same office through moves and multiple new home and vehicle purchases, always bundling everything here. I've never missed or been late on one single payment. Over the past two years, we had some appliances leak, in addition to wind damage on our roof. One of the claims was inadvertently a duplicate (never questioned by this office...and for our singular roof), and we were told our entire homeowner policy is now cancelled. I went through the process of an appeal, only to hear today it was declined. With this lag, I only have 3 days (counting the weekend when insurance offices are not open) to find a new policy. Absolutely awful experience, customer service, support and management.

    I was told by my insurance representative that it benefits a customer to be insured with Lakeshore…read moreInsurance vs. going directly to the insurance company because going "direct," you become just be a number in a sea of other customers and hsve to speak to a different representative every time you call...but at this point that seems like the better option because atleast you get things done, your question answered, and your issue resolved right away. With Lakeshore, or having an Advisor at Lakeshore for your insurance needs seems to be a "thing" in name only. Issue is...my rep never gets back to me without me having to badger/hound him for the answer, a solution, or new insurance policy options. I'm wayyyyyyy to busy for the hounding, when I take time out of my day to work on insurance issues I want to resolve them right then or via a follow up task action that requires a review, sign, and done. He (Lakeshore Insurance) makes it hard for me to find value in remaining a customer with Lakeshore Insurance and having the benefit of a personal insurance "Advisor." I don't write reviews that often but, this seems like a case that needs to be shared. *This has been an ongoing experience with my rep, oh excuse me "my personal advisor," who is always: -slow to respond -not consistent with his follow through -offers "genic" quotes (with no real personalization based upon my needs) when I'm just a phone call away to get proper specs for mileage driven, add-ons, road side assistance needs, rental car needs, etc. All of which are things that impact the premium's price. -me always having to do the "follow up" to get an answer to seal the deal. I started this conversation mid September...it's now November and still don't have what i asked for which is updated quotes....for auto insurance...for four vehicles. Been a loyal customer to Lakeshore Insurance Company for almost 10 yrs, you'd think they would value me for bringing business of four cars and home owners insurance. At this point I'm probably better off going with a big box company who doesn't know me by name and forcing me to speak to a different representative every time (which is okay with me....at least I get my issues, inquiries, and needs met instantly)! Vs. Having a "personal advisor insurance representative," who offers NO real customer service or assistance to personalize my requested insurance needs. -a Disappointed customer

    Sadly, I'm being penalized for my trustworthiness and honesty. These character traits are ignored…read moresince dishonest clients make it difficult to support honorable traits by Progressive. I sold my motorcycle 9 months ago and didn't notify Progressive in a timely manner. Taking care of my 92 year old parent, maintaining a full time job along with tending to daily family matters preoccupied my attention and so I completely lost track of the need to remove the motorcycle from my policy. Progressive is requiring me to provide a bill of sale. Proof of registration transfer to the new owner is a Bill of Sale (required by HI DMV) and is more effort and time to acquire from DMV than worth the amount I'm saving. Sadly, that enables retaining premiums for services not provided by Progressive. There are many reasons WHY Progressive must do this. Unfortunately, it's at the expense of those of us who are doing their due diligence in efforts to care-give, work towards retirement, tend to family responsibilities, all the while living a life of honesty and integrity. Sadly, my word is not good enough for Progressive. The service and features of Progressive Casualty are exceptional. Mahalo!

    After paying my insurance premiums for many years to Progressive, I found out my coverage is…read moreworthless. On 2/12/26, Claim# 26-519416008, while driving on I-10 taking my wife to the airport, my vehicle, a Ford Explorer, was hit by a GMC truck insured by Progressive. The driver of the truck ran away. According to the investigating officer, the GMC truck was at fault in this accident. I'm a good driver, no tickets and never had an accident where I was at fault. For almost a month I have had a nightmare dealing with Progressive to pay for my vehicle repair. On 3/10/26, almost one month after the accident, I received a letter from Hunter Wells in the claim department stating that Progressive can't find a valid coverage for the incident and they will not be able to pay for my claim. I'm a retired auto body I-CAR, ASE, certified technician. I had already started to repair my car. This vehicle has steps, a handle, and a place for a wheelchair. My wife must have this vehicle to take her disabled mother to her doctor appointments. This vehicle is very safe to repair. I replaced the front fender and door with used parts and they fit perfectly. (see pictures) On 3/14/26, Hunter sent another letter stating the total settlement amount for my vehicle is $7,299.89. There is a catch: Progressive will salvage and keep my vehicle and sell it at the auction for a high premium. My vehicle, a Ford Explorer, was purchased new by my father-in-law. Three years ago he passed away. He made sure this car was in perfect condition the whole time he owned it. I have all the records to prove it. I have put about $5k in upgrades including a platinum extended warranty for an additional 85,000 miles left. This vehicle has a full warranty, just like owning a new vehicle. Progressive, they know I must have this vehicle, and the only way they will pay me is if they salvage the vehicle and I surrender it to them. I researched Craigslist, Marketplace, and can't find a single similar vehicle Ford Explorer IronMan rare edition for sale by owner. Most of the other available vehicles come with a salvage title, are not safe to drive, and cannot be fully insured. It's been 3+ months and the final decision I will not receive a single penny for the damages caused by a drunk driver insured by Progressive.

For nine months, the oncology team walked beside us through one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. I would be remiss not to recognize the unwavering support, compassion, and expertise of Dr. Matthew Cook, along with his wonderful right hands, Erin and Jessica. They treated Esther with such gentleness and dignity, and they treated us like family. Their kindness and patience meant more than we can ever properly express. The reception team in oncology is equally extraordinary. Jennifer, Michael, Mercedes, Sunny, and so many others at the front desk welcomed us with warmth at every single visit. No matter how heavy our hearts felt walking in, they always greeted us with care and understanding. Each and every one of them is truly worth their weight in gold. It takes very special people to do what they do every day, and they do it with grace and love. We had to make the half-hour drive nearly weekly for Esther's appointments, (with the exception of about few months when she was in remission ) and we were thankful that such expert, compassionate care was within reach. I know many families travel even farther for the level of expertise offered here, and I completely understand why. The oncology and emergency teams are simply exceptional. I have never been through anything like this in my life, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But in the middle of heartbreak, we experienced some of the most amazing, caring human beings we've ever met. That is a gift we will never forget. She consulted with Doctors from other departments to help diagnose our dog's condition and provided us with several options for us to consider for possible testing, treatment and care. She also provided us with a list of resources to help us and summarized the entire visit and available options with a very comprehensive write-up. Our thanks to Dr Lam for her caring demeanor and work ethic.
