My home was hit by Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024. Their initial offer was so low that several contractors laughed at us and said it would come nowhere close to what we needed. So, we have been out of our home since that date. We have to pay the house payment, rent, and utilities, and we are essentially financially ruined at this point. In addition, we have had to move our stuff to storage buildings, which were broken into and looted. We have an attorney and are going through legal means; however, their attorneys have constantly filed extensions. Since creditors have no interest in our situation, we are now at the point of foreclosure. I am 60 years old, and essentially, I am as broke as I was when I left college. I strongly blame Progressive, especially since they filed successfully to be dropped from the case. They are grifters and crooks. Buyer beware!! Meanwhile, I have to find a way to put my life back together because when the time came for them to protect me, it was revealed that they only want my money. Switched from GEICO to Progressive to save money. When I finished my online quote and tried to check out the price doubled saying that we were at fault for an accident which we weren't. Spent months getting it cleared with this Lexus Nexus company, and in the end, progressive weaseled their way out of it saying it never happened. I had a pipe burst in my kitchen at the end of January, it is now the end of MARCH and no progress has been made on my claim, I have been without walls, floors, cabinets, etc extensive kitchen damage for going on 2 months and progressive has done nothing to help. I was involved in a car accident three months ago with someone who hit me from behind. I immediately report a claim and long story short, progressive did not try to call the other party insurance until 2-3 weeks after the incident. My assigned agent kept saying that they are not picking up the phone so there's nothing he can do. I called the supervisor and managers and non of them got back to me until a month later. Everyone that I have spoken to seems really lazy about their job and kept passing me to someone else. So basically I just paid monthly for years and when I really needed them, they do not advocate for their clients and abandon me with the damages to my car that I have to deal with on my own even though it wasn't my fault. Progressive is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with . Their customer hit me , my car was parked legally. Tore up the front bumper after a week of calling and leaving messages I got a little acknowledgment. T Now they say they what to repair the bumper , this is a pristine Mercedes-Benz S 550 never been in any kind of accident. We are talking a 1000 dollars different . I payed for the tow and still no rental car . Bottom line if your considering progressive not do it . I know they don't get a shit about anything except money . I just switched over to progressive and I am regretting my decision. I was asked if I would like progressive to cancel my old insurance for me. I said yes. But was billed this month as my old insurance was never canceled. Progressive says they sent a letter. My old insurance never received it and even if they did they would not accept it as a cancellation as they expect the policy holder to call to cancel. Progressive takes no responsibility for this mistake and are putting the blame on my old insurance company. Terrible customer service, no accountability, and misinformation. I don't normally do posts like this and complain on social media.... But maybe this will help someone. I have home owners insurance through progressive. Last year I received notification that before they would renew the policy the roof needed replaced due to granulation. I was told after it was done I would need to submit pictures and receipts. Which both were done. I received a call this week from progressive asking me to submit an invoice from the contractor. I said we did it ourselves I did not have a contractor. She said we needed a contractor to do it. I said that is not what the letter said and are you guys going to pay for the contractor? (On a side note they said the pictures were all good) Long story short after a lot of debate with 2 different employees of progressive they are not renewing. We asked them okay if we were new customers would you approve the roof? Hello.... would you approve the roof if we were new customers? No answer was given. Long story short I have auto and homeowners through a different company. So just beware progressive is not such a great company. read more

The reason given because we are away from the country so no one can use the car except to start the engine to ensure engine will not get stuck and from time to time run the car to ensure the wheel will not get stuck. Now the Agent gave me 12,000 miles as estimated mileage for one year and my question to the Agent how is going to happen when we are away from the country. her reason that is the estimated mileage and how is that possible? it seems that is the policy of the Progressive Car Insurance to justify higher monthly payment. this is totally wrong because when the owners are outside the country who is going to use the car except for the required attention the car needed to ensure is working. read more

Progressive insurance is a nightmare. My claim rep's name is Giana Malone who is impossible to deal with. I missed her first phone call about my claim, then the nightmare began. I called her and left a voicemail every day for 3 weeks and texted her every day in the same period of time, no response. I know she's not on vacation because I did get lucky and she answered the phone once during these 3 weeks instead of going to her voicemail, and she said she would call, still, nothing. I was almost driven to crazy by this kind of treatment. I even thought about setting up an alarm and continue calling every day for the another month, then I realized how crazy this sounds. Then I called progressive and asked for changing my rep to another person. I was told my request will be given to the supervisor named Billy Trejo, and I was also told since it was Thursday afternoon, Billy will call me the next day. I waited and Friday no phone call. I call Billy on Monday, left a Voicemail and the voicemail said all phone call would be replied by the next business day. I waited and Tuesday no phone call. So one month of the nightmare later, I am still waiting for that first phone call of my claim. I am helpless and turning into yelp. If anyone in progress sees this, please ask either Giana Malone or Billy Trejo to call me. If this review is still here after days or months or years, that means I never got that phone call from progressive and no one in progress even care about their reputation and treat customs like dust. read more

First and foremost, I want to say that they're doing good to at least get one star from me. They are the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I have been with progressive since 2018 I believe is when I first signed up with them. And they were very somewhat cooperative after my car accident. I kept them on longer. But, as of March 3rd 2025, I canceled with them/my policy. I think I saw craziness happened when I moved. I moved from the city of Mesa to the City of Gilbert and was charged just for moving from one city to another city but in the same state. When I called and had my policy cancelled, they charged me for having my policy active for one day. However, for my older vehicle, the rate went up to close to $200 a month. So, I canceled my policy. The representative I spoke to assured me that I would be getting my refund by Friday and no later and that if it was later than Friday I would need to contact my bank to find out why. But of course Friday was March 7th, a day that has come and gone. I called them back. The representative I spoke to, who of course was oh so sorry to hear about what I was going through and understood my frustration, she must have said that about like a dozen times and of course I kept telling her to shut up I didn't want to hear her say it anymore, but needless to say she tells me I have to wait till March 14th in order for me to get my refund back. Now, I'm trying to figure out how is it when it's time to get your money you have no problem going up in there taking in, when it's time for you to cancel the policy you had no problem canceling that out either. But please make it make sense. Why do I have to wait an additional two weeks before I get my money back? Because I'm not getting anywhere with the woman that I'm speaking to earlier today, I hung up on her. That was such a frustrating call. So, progressive may start out kind of reasonable which is why I got them originally, and they may gradually start going up. But, buyer beware. I have never met such a crooked organization like that. I've never had problems with any insurance company before. DON'T DO IT, THEY AIN'T WORTH IT. read more

Things were fine until my partner and I consolidated our insurance policies and switched to State Farm. Up until then, I'd been a happy Progressive customer. When you cancel your policy, they hit you with a $50 "Cancellation Fee" -- not cool. Be sure to read the fine print so that you don't get effed in the a by them when you leave. read more

After I filed a claim 2.5 months ago, they didn't bother to tell me what the next steps were or what kinds of timeframes would be involved.
