Trexis Insurance

Got home and called my insurance company. Then I Google "Trexis insurance reviews" and my stomach sank. Gotta admit, its very sketchy for an insurance company to have no social media presence in this day and age. I braced myself for a hassle, and accepted that I might have to file through my own insurance. But honestly, things with Trexis went fairly smooth. They sent me a link to a website through which to send photos of the damage. Within a week, the vehicle was declared a total loss, and the claim was forwarded to their total loss department. Made me a very fair offer. Minus one star because things were kinda drug out at this point, and I had to act as a go-between between Trexis and my loan company more than once to get things moving. Not sure on which end the miscommunication was happening, but somebody definitely dropped the ball more than once. But in the end, all was resolved. Finance company received the payoff on May 25th, and I received a check for the balance two days later. Not the smoothest of procedures, but far, far better than I'd feared. Calling it a win. Edit - I feel I should point out that I have a family member with a spare vehicle that I was able to borrow, so I didn't bother with trying to get a rental. That may have played into my positive experience. Not changing my star rating, because thats based upon my own experience, but in the name of full disclosure, I thought I should clarify this point.

My Experience with Trexis and Perla Ruiz -- Proceed with Caution…read moreMy family's experience with Trexis has been incredibly frustrating, and I would strongly encourage anyone dealing with this company, particularly Perla Ruiz, to consider consulting an attorney. One of Trexis's insured drivers was involved in a T-bone collision with my mother that could have cost her life. According to the police report and statements from all six witnesses, the other driver ran a red light. Despite this evidence, it took Trexis two weeks to respond. The handling of the rental vehicle was another major point of contention. My mother drove an SUV, yet Trexis attempted to place her in a much smaller rental vehicle. When we challenged this decision and raised concerns about its legality, we felt that Trexis doubled down rather than meaningfully addressing our concerns. What makes this situation especially painful is my mother's history. Thirty-four years ago, she was involved in a similar accident that killed three people who were in the car with her. She endured three years of rehabilitation following that crash. Given this history, the stress and uncertainty surrounding another serious collision have been particularly difficult for our family. Throughout this experience, we felt that Trexis showed little regard for my mother's circumstances or the seriousness of what she had been through. We expected timely communication, reasonable consideration of her needs, and a fair handling of the claim. Our experience fell far short of those expectations. My advice to anyone dealing with Trexis, especially if Perla Ruiz is handling your claim: document every interaction, keep all correspondence, save your evidence, and seriously consider seeking independent legal advice. Do not assume that the insurance company's decisions are necessarily in your best interest
