Had Progressive for around a year. I had it with my first car, no problems. Second car I slid off the road and made a claim. The picture showed it needed maybe 4 things, they said my car had a 95% chance of totalling. Struggled to make then bring it to the shop I wanted to have my car brought to, then the shop said it was nowhere near totalling. THEN!! My policy was cancelled on 12/25/25 and I had to go through 17 calls to find out why. They did not send me the paperwork I was supposed to fill out, nor did they tell me I had something to fill out, so they cancelled my policy for an underwriting issue. I always check the app to see if my insurance rate went up since my accident, and not ONE pop up came up saying I had an issue I needed to fix. Beware Progressive Insurance will Betray YOU My name is Michael von Krenner and my policy claim number is #19-1257631 My car was vandalized by someone ,who keyed my entire car. I drive a classic 1987 Mercedes 560SEC in excellent condition the car has only 140k miles on it. The previous owner put a $10,000 paint job on the car and it looked super, until it was vandalized. I filed my claim. I discovered that I have to pay $999 deductible even for vandalism, which is wrong in itself. The first estimate they gave at THEIR recommended body shop was $3400 to repaint my entire car. It was a joke. I went the local Mercedes dealership and asked who they recommend to paint a car. They gave me a couple options. The cheaper option is $11,500. Progressive did not like that so they sent their adjuster and he came up with $7500. Which is totally crazy because the body shop requires $11,500 so how are they supposed to take a $,4,000 loss??? Several other body shops have refused to touch the car with out getting paid in full up front. They are all tired of being ripped off by insurance companies. So I have written a letter to the CEO of Progressive,Tricia Griffith she did not respond but merely had a secretary forward my complaint to another adjuster named Michael Macpherson. I explained everything to Mr. Macpherson and told him this was unacceptable and that they were breaching their contract with me and effectively preventing me from getting my car restored to its pre loss condition. Mr. Macpherson did nothing to help me but merely forwarded me to another agent or in house lawyer; who stated that now I must spend my own money to pay for appraisals and time to fight my own insurance company. I think this is ludicrous and entirely unacceptable that I should pay my premiums, my huge deductible and now appraisal fees and legal fees plus all my time involved for something that I pay progressive insurance to take care of. So Mr.Macpherson had the chance to amicably solve this situation and he refused to pay what the body shop requires to fix my car. Now a Miss Danielle DuJardin is the new adjuster who is refusing to allow me to restore my car to its pre loss condition. This has been going on for several months now. So that is why I am writing this cautionary notice. Hopefully enough of you- the public; potential or existing customers will take up this case and forward this to everybody you know.
