I was rear-ended by a Progressive insured driver over 11 months ago. I suffered a severe deck injury requiring 4 months of intensive physical therapy --- which ended with the Dr telling me that PT wasn't correcting the constant pain and I should consider surgery. I am 86 years old and my Cardiologist told me I probably wouldn't survive surgery. The Progressive Agent has already indicated that "Progressive does not believe I have a claim because the property damage (that totaled vehicle) DID NOT SUPPORT my injury claim". Medicare is now demanding the repayment of the medical bills I incurred. I have Medical Payment insurance on my automobile policy which they say is a third party liability. In essence , I've been screwed by Progressive Insurance, my insurance company and Medicare. I was involved in a car accident three months ago with someone who hit me from behind. I immediately report a claim and long story short, progressive did not try to call the other party insurance until 2-3 weeks after the incident. My assigned agent kept saying that they are not picking up the phone so there's nothing he can do. I called the supervisor and managers and non of them got back to me until a month later. My Yearly Insurance Expired in late September 2024. They said click here and "Renew Your Insurance". I clicked on it, it said pay $80.00 to Renew. I paid the $80.00 A couple weeks later I got another email from Progressive Auto Insurance saying to pay another $70.00 I paid it, not knowing why. My catalytic converter was stolen off of my car 17 days ago and it's been a nightmare to deal with both of these representatives. This isnt my last review this is just my experience thus far. I own my own business and it is my start up year, already stressful. Unfortunately I was involved in an accident on the 9th of July. I have never been in an accident before, so I don't know how car insurance claims work. I do however run a business predominately dealing with customer service during peoples most vulnerable time of need. I pride my self on empathy and tonality. My GF has been a loyal Progressive Customer for 14 years with ZERO claims ever on her policy. The claim was denied (that's not really our issue anymore), however the insurance company told us to use the city to tow the vehicle instead of trying to assist us in mitigating our financial response. The agent told us, "it would be better to use the city because it will take too long for us to send someone out." It was a Tuesday night at 530...... It took us 48-72 hours to receive a letter from the insurance company "advising us" to mitigate our financial responsibility as they wouldn't be paying for the tow or storage fees. IT WAS YOUR RECOMMENDATION TO TOW THE VHEICLE TO A TOW YARD!!!!! WE HAVE TRIPLE AAA AND WOULD HAVE UED THAT INSTEAD FOR FREE!!!!! I have called Angelica Ponce the claim adjuster to answer questions and she refuses to. She is rude, has no empathy, and zero ability to defuse any situation which I would argue is the most important part of customer service. I digress, We asked for a different claims adjuster due to her rude comments and behavior, that was never honored after progressive changed the claim adjuster 3 times before that. I contacted Angelica Ponce's boss George over 4 times with no call back. Every time I asked to speak to someone other than the two mentioned I was constantly transferred to Angelica who never identified herself on the phone in an effort to be sneaky. I always had to ask who I was speaking with. I asked her to transfer me to her boss and she stated, "you have the number, but I can dial it for you if you'd like." Why is basic customer service so hard for progressive? Why is transferring me internally with a click of a button so hard? Instead you made it sound like I'm privileged and cant dial a phone number that I already had 3 times. I had to call 4 times in one day get routed to her 2 times in order to speak to someone who was able to get me to an escalations specialist, Lets hope Georges boss can make something right. Im only asking for them to cover the 250 dollars to turn the vehicle over to the tow yard to junk it as it is paid off and totaled. It's now may and we have our truck back and the job on the right side of my truck looks great, looks brand new. So brand new that it doesn't match my drivers side. Progressives stance is fixed it to before accident status. In no way does this truck match from passenger side to drivers side. I then submit a diminished value claim for 3800 dollars which is now what I would be losing if I trade it in now that it's been in an accident and it does t match at all. DV agent told me sorry your claim is denied since it was only a 1000 dollars in parts and 7500 in labor. Liars, Unprofessional and complete lack of communication Google Review can't let me post the full story due to character limits. So I'm putting the highlights: In the beginning of October, on a Friday/Saturday I received a letter in the email from Sasha Alexander (adjuster) dated September 27th. I thought this letter was going to be my check imagine my surprise when I read the contents, and I found that among other things the letter alarmingly said that Progressive had received no contact from me and that if no contact was made they would assume no damage had occurred to my vehicle and that my claim would be closed. I immediately called Sasha and received voicemail yet again. I called the Progressive claim hotline and spoke to a gentleman I believe was named Kevin. I asked Kevin about the letter and why would I be receiving it if I have been in contact with Progressive multiple times. I also asked if my claim could be moved to a new adjuster as Sasha was unreachable. Kevin rushed to the defense of Sasha and told me how she had hundreds of claims to deal with and tons of calls to make every day hence why she wasn't responsive to me. (you would think one of those tons of calls would be to me but no, at this point she had never reached out to me). Kevin also told me after reviewing the notes on the claim that Sasha sent the letter because she had been contacting with Geico to get some information, but Geico was "withholding" that information. I told Kevin "I think I know what this about, it's about the third vehicle isn't it?". I tried to explain what had occurred and how it should been resolved. Kevin cut me off and informed me that "no the information that Sasha was seeking was not about a third vehicle." I asked Kevin what was it about then. Kevin said I would need to talk to Sasha as he didn't have access to it on his end. (Sidenote: How could he know that it wasn't about the third vehicle but also not know what it was about). Kevin further stated that at this point Progressive had done all it could and was waiting for Geico now and in fact Geico should have been in contact with me to resolve the hold-up. I informed Kevin that the letter stated none of that at which point he said, "Well sir what do you want me to do, change the letter?" After getting off the phone with Kevin I called Geico hotline immediately. I didn't inform Geico of anything I learned and just asked the agent to let me know what was in the notes. The Geico agent informed me that the last communication they received was Sasha calling them to get information about the third vehicle and they had informed her that there was no such vehicle. They had tried to reach Sasha but like me were sent to voicemail and on their end Geico was waiting for Progressive to make a determination about liability. Everything Kevin told me was a bold face and easily proven lie. On the following business day I got a call from the supervisor Caroline who informed me that in fact the status of the claim was they were waiting for ME to upload an estimate and she asked me if I had received a link to upload an estimate. I had not. I quickly received the link to upload and as luck would have it I had already scheduled an estimate to be done at a local shop. The estimate from the shop detailed the work that needed to be done and included a multitude of photos. Max then sent back his estimate which was nearly half the estimate of the shop's and most notably didn't include any lines for painting and just listed buffing with no explanation given for the changes/removals. To reiterate the damage to my car had exposed bare metal and plastic. You can't buff that away. Getting my car fixed was constant calling, baby sitting, and headache. Progressive and their staff at every turned dragged out this process. It took me more than TWO MONTHS from the incident to get my car fixed. I'm sure everyone has horror stories with every insurance company. But my two cents skip Progressive get Geico. read more

This morning I attempted to use the roadside assistance coverage of my Progressive Insurance policy after my vehicle developed a fuel leak. After more than 30 minutes waiting beside my vehicle, I was called and notified that no towing service was available and that I could request again tomorrow. Seriously? I explained my predicament and that I couldn't wait until the following day. After more than an hour, I was informed that Progressive and their roadside assistance program could not help me and that needed to arrange towing on my own. I made single call to a local towing company (Dunnivin's), who sent a flatbed truck within 30 minutes, of course at my cost. This was a hugely frustrating and inconvenient experience, and terrible customer service. I couldn't rate or recommend Progressive less after today. read more

Wow, needed a simple tow within a few miles and it literally took 2 tow trucks (they did not send the correct tow truck the 1st time, upon waiting several hours and upon having all the necessary information to make an intelligent decision) and literally 8 hours. This is not an exaggeration. Filed the claim at 9am and was told 60-90 minutes. Took around 2.5 hrs and wrong truck. Was told the right truck would be 30 mins...didn't arrive until past 4pm. I was struck by a vehicle early in the morning. The vehicle that hit me fled the scene. Myself and my passenger were very shook and up. It was a horrible experience. Lawrence Kim and Miguel who are my adjusters helped me through this entire process and made things much easier than they could've been. I highly recommend progressive insurance and both Lawrence Kim and Miguel. My only complaint would be that progressive argued about a dent in my rear driver side truck bed. They claimed that the dent was pre-existing when it was not. My vehicle was struck On two occasions within seconds that morning. I have progressive auto insurance and I just got screwed by them from a accident that wasn't even my fault.. when I got my policy it was for two vehicles one being my work truck and they had asked me if I was to sell it what do I think I would sell it for said I don't know gave a rough estimate. A month ago I was in an accident that was not my fault called progressive they told me that they were going to tow my truck to their storage yard about an hour away.. I was told it was totaled and that I had a limit on my policy that was that guesstimate that I had given the woman on the phone.. turns out that estimate that I had given was $9,000 shy of what actual market value is. They said they would review it because the woman doing my policy wasn't very clear on how the limitations work on a payout if I was to get in an accident.. they told me there's nothing they can do about it which doesn't make sense because they're not paying out on my vehicle the woman who caused the accident her insurance is the one that's going to be paying for my vehicle so basically progressive is helping out her insurance by short-changing me as a customer on the value of my truck.. now I have to spend an additional $9,000.. to get a truck like the one I had before the accident.. I can honestly say that progressive does not take care of their members. it's been extremely difficult to get payouts on my insurance claim. they have also denied my uninsured motorist claim, simply due to wording of their policy which ironically falls in their favor. I tried to get a new quote for my insurance at which point they kicked me off of my old policy and escalated my quote review to an ominous under writing team that no one has a point of contact for other than email that they take "2 or more business days to respond to." In the meantime, I have no insurance, and while all i want to do is pay them the $300 plus i have been paying them for the past 6 years, they tried to renew me at $580 a month. No one can tell me why their under writing team needs to review my documentation that i must submit (even though they already have full access to everything they've asked for) just that there is nothing they can do and maybe I should find somewhere else for a quote.
