I applied for a FHA loan and got a locked in quote which includes MPI cost of $6150 due to my low credit score. This is a one time cost and will not be refunded even if you refinance next day. I said ok to it. Just 2 weeks before the closing, I told Ashok that my credit score increased by few points. Ashok put in effort to get me a new loan quote with the new credit score and got a much better quote with a different lender. If we were to go with new lender the closing may not happen on due date. Ashok did fantastic job and convinced the original lender to accept my new credit and got a fantastic offer where I don't have to pay one time cost of 6150 and get extra credit thus saving $7008.
