I don't think Michael is inexpensive, but I do think he is fair. To give you an idea, he estimated to repad and recover an antique rocker bottom (his leather) would cost $150, but when I went to write the check, he said it would be $85. He said it didn't take as much time as he thought it would. How is that for fair?! Michael is extremely nice and will tell you upfront if he can do the job and what it will cost. He gets it back as fast as he can. I used to go to Dixie, which Charlie owned. After that wonderful shop closed, I had no one. I am so glad I found Thompson's Upholstery.

I was also pleasantly surprised that they brought me the left over fabric, from my re-upholstery job. It is not too much, but it is enough for me to take right back to them, and order a few small accent pillows to match the daybed. (Which I plan to do soon.) They could have discarded the fabric or made pillows to sell in their shop, and I would never have known the difference. The honesty meant a lot to me. And speaking of fabric ... they have zillions of beautiful choices, in all price ranges. They were very patient with me and I am a person who does thorough research and takes her time, before I finally make a decision. I will admit a lot of places would have likely become annoyed or frustrated with me, for taking so much time and visiting the showroom to look through samples, over and over and over again, requesting pricing. But they were very kind and pleasant and willing to check pricing for me on many fabrics, many times. I also felt they charged a very fair price, especially considering the craftsmanship and turn around time and their willingness to do the pick up and drop off. The turn around time was so much faster than I expected. It was the holidays and I had to request they hold the daybed a few extra weeks for me, due to my extra traveling and holiday activities. True to form, they were very accommodating and understanding. I bought the cushion from Amazon and the fabric online from a site called Spoonflower and took it to Metro Upholstery to put it together and they did! My patio seat cushions came out gorgeous! And affordable. Also the customer service is impeccable. Hire this company! You cannot go wrong! Cooper's Furniture Repair exceeded our expectations for…read morerepairing our mahogany rice bed. One of the 4 posters snapped on the foot board about 1/3 of the way up and then again at the top, as well as having small pieces splinter off, so you could see into the unstained wood. John gave us a reasonable estimate, completed the work diligently, and took care of moving the footboard in and out. He even helped us set up temporarily bracing for the bed while the footboard was being repaired. When we got our footboard back, I was SHOCKED at how good it looked. I had low expectations because of the severity of the breaks and splintered pieces, not because of John's ability. IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS NEVER DAMAGED AND YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW! The stain is well-matched, holes are filled in, and we had to even get down and stare for a couple seconds to find where the wood originally snapped. My grandparents gave us this bed, so I was devastated when it broke, but now I'm so happy to have it fixed!
