Okay, so let me say when I first started wedding planning I thought The Trivium was "not for me"…read morebut I went on a tour anyway and fell in love. Like, 100% changed my mind and needed to have the wedding there. From day one Victoria was AMAZING in helping us budget, plan, and coordinate the wedding. Their list of recommended vendors was a literal lifesaver in picking out the key people in the wedding. Victoria was checking in and keeping me on track throughout the whole planning process. The space is gorgeous. The house has a bridal, groom, and family suites upstairs to get ready in. Downstairs is a nice area for cocktail hour. The ballroom was large and beautiful for our reception. There are also many places outside to have a ceremony! They were so flexible in allowing me to use the space in a way that made sense for us. Everything is so personalized and unique to your wedding. Now, if that wasn't a 5 star review in itself the day of coordination might as well bump it up to a 10 star. On the wedding day Victoria made sure I was 100% stress free by organizing my vendors, keeping the bridal room calm, and doing every behind the scene thing you can imagine. The wedding was outdoors overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and it was a cold November day, so Victoria set up a hot chocolate station with blankets to keep our guests comfortable. During the reception she made sure my husband and I were eating, drinking, and having a great time. They were even flexible enough to extend the reception for an hour because everyone was having so much fun! I couldn't ask for a better wedding. Thank you to The Trivium and Victoria for a day I will never forget!

Biggest Mistake of My Life…read more My fiancé and I were scheduled to be married November 7, 2020 at the venue. However, due to the global pandemic and steady rise of cases across the nation, we would like to postpone our event to the fall of 2021. We both are honest, hard-working individuals (healthcare professionals in fact). We do not want to (and will not) put the safety of our friends and family in jeopardy to host our special day (both of us are blessed to have all grandparents still living). We certainly could not live with ourselves if our wedding was the cause of an isolated outbreak of COVID-19, causing significant morbidity and mortality to our guests. Therefore, we contacted the trivium last week to explore our alternatives. However, we shortly discovered the venue is scheduled to be sold in 2021 and not booking future weddings. It is undetermined at this time as to whether the estate will reopen as a wedding venue. After admitting the venue could not accommodate our needs, the owner (Heidi Baker) refused to return our initial deposit. The owner proposed she could reschedule our wedding to January of 2021 and delay the closing of the venue. However, this did not accommodate our needs. In my professional opinion, postponing a wedding scheduled outdoors to January is nonsensical. On a further note, annual influenza season peaks between December and February which would increase the risk of severe health complications among our guests. We are simply seeking the refund of our initial deposit so we may secure future wedding arrangements. The initial deposit would certainly go a LONG way on future preparations! If you are looking to book a venue for your wedding this year DO NOT consider this venue.

We drove an hour to visit on a Monday morning with no expectations. I was WOWed by this place…read more Whoever came up with this idea was a genius and executed it flawlessly. Moms sip coffee while kids play in an enclosed play area. As a single mother I can't explain how much I appreciate this-only $22 for 2 children. The kids meals were $5.50, drinks $3. I got the best white chocolate matcha I've ever had for like $5. Every detail was thought about in the operation of this business. From the diaper vending machine to the thoughtfulness of the play area to the decor, the menu, the snacks. All you had to do was put a card on file and hold up the things you wanted to buy, viola! No swiping a card or anything. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was laid back and chill. There was staff keeping an eye on the kids. It was clean, bathrooms included. Despite the busyness there was no wait for food or drink items. Bravo. Please open one in Roanoke.

The staff was accommodating throughout the entire process, even going so far as to try and set up the picnic in the shade next to trees because it was so hot and sunny the day we came. I ended up opting for the umbrella, which was huge and worked well. The staff kept our charcuterie board refrigerated until we arrived, had cold water, and even freezing wet towels for us to stay cool. They stayed cold the entire two hours as well! The entire time was very memorable and worth every penny. Check them out and support local!

Stephanie and the C'ville picnic team brought a picturesque proposal to life for my fiancée and me!…read more Stephanie spent around a month working with me on the phone and over email to hash out our ideas, and even visited and contacted several properties for me to help pick the location! She offered a highly customizable picnic package and worked directly with the photographer who was also a joy to work with. She also sent a labeled map to help me visualize where to pop the question when we arrived. We even had two staff on location to tend to us during the picnic (I didn't even know this would be part of it!). Every detail was beautifully curated and the charcuterie board served as at least a meal's worth of food for two. The fire pit + tent combo helped us weather the cold as well. Would highly recommend C'Ville picnic to prepare for your special event.
