Stripling's selection is better than any grocery in Brunswick, and beats Harris Teeter for meats selection and price. Stripling's has a great selection of specialty foods, as well. Prices seemed a little high, but nothing like the specialty shops on SSI. Overall, Stripling's is a good stop in a pinch if you can't get down to Jax for diverse shopping options. They are conveniently located central to SSI, JI, and Brunswick, which is very handy.

We were admiring a green resin bowl and decided we didn't need to spend $30 on a bowl at the gas station. At the last minute, we said, what the hell, we're on vacation, let's get it. As I scanned it at the self checkout, I saw that it came up as $130... which had to be a mistake RIght?!? When we double checked we noticed that the 1 in the 130 was written in by hand. I walked over near the fresh baked items and everything had signs of condensation inside the bags and everything looked sticky. The bathrooms were also closed. I picked up a small basket of peaches from Georgia Peach World on August 19th before lunchtime…read more The peaches were still very firm and a few days from ripeness. By the time I arrived in Pennsylvania on August 20 in the late afternoon, half the basket had large brown, mushy spots on them and the peaches were not even ripe. I cut away the "good" parts to eat, but they had no flavor, as the peaches weren't ripe yet. The other half of the basket of peaches now have large mushy brown spots and still not ripe or flavorful. The entire basket of peaches had bruising that was not visible when I purchased them. I paid almost $20 for that small basket and they were all inedible. The main shop with assorted preserved peach food products was fairly nice and I was able to taste test several products. I got a cute mug and some raw pecans there. That part of the business was worth a quick stop. But, the peaches that were available in late August were terrible.
