I have no idea where they get their produce, but it has just been horrible for the last 6 months.

Amazing prices!!!! It would of been a 5 star if only they had more of a selection of fruits like exotic or even just farmland in season ones. Plus this place is cash only bummer. They have an atm on premise but its one of those sketchy portable ones even if its in the store i dont know, but i still had to use it. Great selection of pla ts and flowers, also fresh cut flower bouquets sooo cheap!! And vases and big planters. I left with a ton of stuff and still money in my pocket. Tip: look for a shoppong cart in the parking lot because they are hard to come by once in the store. read more

I have been a long time customer of Produce Junction and my experience today may result in finding another place to shop. I visited produce junction today to purchase a few flowers and vegetables. Since today was Father's Day it was a little crowded. I first traveled into the flower area cart in toe to pick up a few items. After I located the items I wanted I then proceeded to the register area. The gentlemen in front of me cracked a few jokes asking why do we have to pay outside? I said I wish I knew because after waiting in this line I have to wait in another line to purchase something else inside...SMH. There were two ladies ringing up items, so the one closest to the register rang up my items. Since I was unsure of some of the prices of my items I requested a receipt. She looked at me as thought I asked for her to cut off her hand or something. Still no response to my request, so I moved on inside to grab some vegetables. After a few minutes my boyfriend came to check on me since it was rather crowed. After paying for the few items we both grabbed we drove the cart to our vehicle. I bagged four out of five of my plants and carried one in my hand as I graciously went to return the cart. As I sat in my boyfriend's truck I notice one of the ladies who was outside ringing up people yelling, arms whaling at me saying I did not pay for my flowers. So I then got out the truck and walked back over to the register. She stated "you didn't pay me". I said I know because I paid the other girl that was up here with you. I told her exactly how much my total was and how much I paid. After a few minutes she didn't say anything so I asked now what? I asked for a receipt for my items from the other woman that was here and nothing. I said lady I don't have to steal I have money to pay for my flowers. A minute ago it appears they could not even speak English and now I am being accused of stealing flowers.....seriously? It was so embarrassing as I noticed the line was even longer as I was leaving. Now I will kindly write a letter to Mr. Albert Gentile president of Produce Junction about my experience because something clearly has to be done about this place. As other customers have asked for receipts and left with no alternatives proving items were in fact purchased. They certain picked the right person to mess with today. read more

Great prices, large selection....but, produce is not that fresh, feels sort of like yesterday's bread...

Crowded on Sundays but great prices! Got potatoes, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, grapes and lemons for $13!

My wife does the shopping here, so I can't comment on the shopping experience itself. I do, however, pay the bills and eat the food. The produce is certainly cheap. Since we started buying fruits and veggies here, our overall monthly grocery bill has decreased significantly. The quality is pretty good. In my opinion the quality is a little bit lower than what we get from Giant, but better than what we get from Acme. Overall, perfectly acceptable. read more

I've been buying from Produce Junction for decades ... It's been a huge help in eating healthier, and not having to take out a loan to do so ... It's also a cool place to take your young kids, and/or grandkids at the beginning of Autumn, and before Christmas, to get things they might like for the holidays, cheaply ... Along with all kinds of produce, they've got seasonal items and novelties, as well as flowers for your lady ... Can't beat that! read more

I love this place! One of the downsides for me is that I don't need "bulk" all the time. The dilemma sometimes though is that the bulk you buy here may cost you less than one item somewhere else. One of the up sides is that in addition to the fruits and veggies one might expect to see, they often have some of the exotic things like Dragon Fruit, Star Fruit and other things you won't see everywhere. It is a bargain shopping here. There are times I might go with another friend so we can split the produce and not have so much extra that we don't need. This place is worth the trip! read more

Excellent selection of Fresh fruit and veggies. My go to place for creating my vitamin enrich smoothies. Fresh eggs and florals too!

I do like this Produce Junction. The selection is large and varied and I have rarely gone wrong with any fruit or veggie I have selected in over a year. The staff can be friendly and it only takes a few visits to build a rapport with them. You cannot beat the price and quality of staple items like spinach, lettuce, mushrooms, garlic, lemons, broccoli and berries. I shop for a family of four at least 3 times a month and i leave with a big box of fruit and a big box of veggies and have never spent more than $40 total. My produce money would never go that far at the Giant. read more

SO DISAPPOINTED I use to go here all the time but they must have changed owners. The quality of the produce is horrible. The life time of the food after you walk out of the door is about a day 1/2. You have to thoroughly check the fruit before you leave because they pack bad fruit in with the good. This location was always convenient to my home but now I literally travel out of my way to another produce junction! Good prices. But if you're operating a business and you need them to pick an order for you, they WILL get it wrong most of the time. I ask for green peppers, I get cucumbers. I ask for a case of romaine, I get iceberg, etc. 99% of the time!! It is so annoying! I wish someone there would just listen instead of trying to rush me of the phone. And pay attention! I really hate going to this place, I hate that it is always busy and the staff is rude. I was standing in line and one of the workers actually bypassed and tried to wait on another customer. I have a huge family so I need to shop in bulk, but what I am finding is that the quality of fruits are substandard, so when I go I just stick to veggies and eggs. read more

Went to produce junction today in Glenside to get a couple of items. The place was packed as it mostly is especially in nice weather. We chose 4 items corn stalks, lemons, celery and strawberries. Buyers should beware and be careful at what they are handing you and when you pick the bags of veggies yourself. It took at least 5 bags of celery to find one that was really fresh. Some were rotted, many were soggy and wet. The stalks were OK. The berries I had to look thru a number of boxes to find fresh ones. The lemons thankfully were ok. But to our greatest disappointment was the eggplant which we did not notice till we go home was rotten thru out! We had to throw it away. 6$ in the trash! Be careful at PJ make sure you check your items closely. read more

First time buyer, I own 2 breakfast-all-day diners, serve 5,000 fruit salads a week, fruits bought daily.......opening a smoothie and diner soon in North Hills, thought I'd give a local vendor the business....Quality of fruits was deplorable, spent $91 and threw away 25% of total purchase...called store 3 hours later, and manager said "oh well" and hung up on me....found the owner 2 days later and got the same result....they lost $1000/week and don't seem to care...those of you who success here, appreciate your good fortune..... read more

Sold me bad pomegranate on more than one occasion. Half the people don't speak English and they don't accept credit cards.

As you select or request your purchases, always add them up in your head to be sure that the total given is correct. The employees seem to be under the impression that it is IMPOSSIBLE for them to make a mistake and when they do so, they are extremely rude. There are a lot of prices for them to remember, no small task, and they are, I assume, human and therefore prone to error at times. Why is it so impossible for them to double check their math and when wrong, issue an apology and a refund in a pleasant manner? I know they must deal with their share of rude customers, but when treated politely, they should respond in kind. Love Produce Junction for the products and prices but even the small amount of customer service I would expect in a store like this is absent a great deal of the time. Many of the employees seem to be under the impression that the customer is the enemy to be tolerated. read more

produce junction on easton rd., outside philly. i've shopped here for yrs w few problems. you want fabulous prices this is the place. you want FAIR CONSUMER PRACTICES, this is not your place. these folks deal in cash only; i can live with that. they don't give receipts and they do creative pricing. that's not good. i got carried away, seeing my favorite (hydrangeas) plant in hot pink, i bought one blue and one pink. i have a blue one that's six ft around that i grew fr a 6" pot, so i know what they like and don't like. the pink one i bought for $6 satur. was dying by sunday. in the past, you return the old plant to a worker and switch out for a new one. today, i was told that i'd have to pay $6 for a new plant. the young woman who should have been helping ran outside, speaking in a thick accent, demanding that i speak to the mgr., who was hiding in the back. this person (i keep typing ugly wds like idiot, and ahole) suggested that the plant died in one day,because i didn't water it. i refused to continue the discussion at that point PISSED as i was leaving he said maybe i shouldn't shop there again. THATPISSEDMEOFF!!! even more than i already was. i said i'd shop there whenever i wished and reminded him that he was doing business in america. here we have consumer protection laws. you may not sell a defective product, and refuse to exchange or refund it. you should also give receipts, so your patrons aren't treated like flower bandits. when my leaf blower died, i took the receipt to home depot and made an exchange w no ques. asked. i've even been offered an upgrade for my inconvenience. i shop here and they attempt to get me to pay for what i've paid for already. they say i shouldn't shop here again. well, aldi's is the best for green plants, but these miscreants are the best for flowers. if i can't find good prices elsewhere, i will shop here WITH CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
