It's a very small, quaint spot, but it's really nice and well stocked for the size. The staff is wonderful. the young people working the register are always polite, kind, and engaging, which makes the experience even better. They have fresh salads ready to purchase, along with a seafood counter and a meat counter, and everything always looks fresh and well prepared. The store itself is small and can get pretty busy, but that's part of the charm of a neighborhood market. You can also find flowers, mums depending on the season, fresh herbs, cheeses, bottled sauces, and other specialty items. They really have a little bit of everything. Prices are moderate. Of course, they may be a little higher than bigger places like Produce Junction, but that's expected for a small local market where you can walk in and get fresh items quickly. Overall, it's a great local produce spot if you like supporting neighborhood businesses and want fresh ingredients without going to a big store. If you go, I'd love to hear about your experience.

Still, at this point, the health of these plants are probably fully in my hands. What I like about Dekalb? Solid selection at low prices when it comes to produce and gardening supplies. I like their $1/$2 fruit/veggie bucket deals, especially for veggies I might be using that day. Beyond those "specials", they offer fresh produce cheaper than any local supermarket. They also have plants, soil, and other odds and ends for your garden as well. They aren't Lowes/Home Depot in the selection department, but again they beat their low prices. I'm sure the staff is willing to share advice. Honestly, I've only asked a handful of questions, but have always gotten answers. This orchard was one of the last ones to still have apple picking available in the first week of November which we were super grateful for. Since most of the remaining apples were on the top of the trees they were thoughtful enough to provide ladders across the orchard which was support useful and made our experience fun and enjoyable. The instructions were very simple and were had the best time enjoying ourselves in the orchard. The apples were absolutely delicious and we also bought other stuff in their store. The apple cider was delicious and so were the Donuts. The donuts were not too greasy and fried perfectly unlike a lot of other places which I absolutely loved. I grabbed a bag for my friend who also loved the donuts so much!! One thing I would love to see here is maybe some sort of savory or fresh food options, like a crepe station or panini situation. I would have loved to sit outside in the picnic tables and have a sandwich. After a whole day of apple picking that is probably the only thing that will push this 5 star experience over the top.
