There are many stands that serve produce, bread, flowers, honey, and much more. I love the flower booth that is comes to this farmers market every weekend. You can buy flowers by the bouquet (anywhere from $7-$30) or you can ask about bulk purchases. I also like that they have performers that play guitar, piano, sing, etc. This farmers market doesn't compare to the midtown farmers market, but a great farmers market if you're looking to simply buy produce and fresh items. There is plenty of parking. There are no food trucks or food stands with already made food. Also, no dogs allowed.

The walk starts at 9:30 AM, and vouchers are handed out at 10:00 AM. Parking: Free and plentiful in the station parking lot. Farmers Market: Smaller than most Sacramento farmers markets, with about 17 vendors selling fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey, Turkish coffee, Hmong food, and more. ****My favorite booth: Sahara Coffee They serve traditional sand coffee, a centuries-old Ottoman brewing method. Finely ground coffee and water are brewed in a copper pot which placed directly in hot sand. The sand provides even heat, creating a rich flavor and thick, velvety foam. If you're not sure what to order, try their most popular drink: saffron coffee. The owner travels to farmers markets throughout the Sacramento area and up to Lake Tahoe, and also caters private events. A free 1-mile walk, a $25 voucher, and a cup of unique Turkish coffee? I was able to snag some wonderful plant starts and the best pound cake from Taste of Pound. That orange pineapple is a show stopper. Who knew pound cakes come in so many flavors. I love that this market has it all, affordable produce, ready to eat food, good drinks, body care items and more. I can't wait to see what the market brings this summer.

One of the items that I find here and nowhere else are the tofu "crusts" that are from tofu-makers…read moretrimming the neat tofu squares. These are a bit drier and denser than the other tofu products. They are wide and thin...almost ribbonlike. They're a byproduct of the tofu-making process. Rather than toss them, there's a vender here that bags these irregular bits and sells them, cheap. I like them because the are a bit chewy and textured. They don't fall apart during cooking. They hold up to being sliced in shorter pieces and stir-fried. One bag is enough for several meals Many bargains can be found here if you're adventurous enough to try new-to-you fruits and veggies. I recommend making a pass-through of the whole market before making purchases. Prices can vary from vender to vender. You can save quite a bit of money getting your produce here rather than at the regular supermarket produce department. That's if you are flexible in which veggies you purchase. This place tends to have all sorts of asian veggies and only a few of the more common ones.

They also shut down multiple streets during the market, so be aware that you may get redirected depending on which way you're driving in or leaving. There are lots of pet dogs everywhere, so consider yourself warned. If you're not a dog person, this might not be your vibe. But if you are, it's such a fun place to see the cutest dogs of all different breeds, or even bring your own along. They have so many vendors, from fresh flowers, produce, and meats to local organizations, museums, live music, and, most importantly, food. I love the variety of food you can try, and there are plenty of samples throughout the market. They also have a small kiddie play area, which is a nice bonus if you're bringing little ones. Just be prepared because it gets hot, there is no seating, and people can sometimes be rude or get a little too close in the crowds. That's pretty typical anywhere with a large gathering, though. Overall, I really like this specific farmers market because there's so much to see and do that it's actually worth making a trip out for. This was my first time here and won't be my last.

There're egg sellers (chicken, duck, and quail), a mushroom vender, and numerous farmers that grow a variety of Asian veggies like bitter melon, Japanese eggplant, as well as the usual cucumber, squashes, onions and tomatoes.
