I hired Proctors to move my family's belongings about 3 months ago. The service I was provided before the move was terrific. The person who visited our home to estimate the cost of the move was very professional and friendly and the people I spoke to on the phone were also. The removal men showed up on time in the morning and worked diligently throughout the day. While unloading the truck, one of the men accidentally broke a piece of furniture and apologised. He told me to contact a staff member in the office to get compensation for the broken furniture. Upon leaving, the men said to call the office after we unpacked all the boxes and someone would be sent round to pick them up.
Unfortunately, after the move, the level of service I received was significantly worse than before I paid Proctors. We had to make numerous attempts to speak to someone about the damaged furniture. We sent a letter explaining what happened and it wasn't until about four weeks later, and quite a few phone calls, that we were sent a form to fill out to provide details of the damaged furniture along with its cost. It's now been approximately two weeks since then and we've still not heard anything. We also contacted Proctors on a few occasions to have the emptied boxes collected, but no one bothered to contact us to arrange a time to collect them.
All in all, the service we received before the move was terrific. The move itself went reasonably well, all things considered. However, the way in which Proctors has treated us since the move is thoroughly disappointing. For the price they charge, I do not recommend their service. read more
