We've been coming here for years and I would have rated this place as average, or maybe a little…read moreabove average. But all that has changed. I can no longer recommend this place to anyone. And after recent events and talking to others animal owners, I will not keep quiet about this vet office. I will not take my living pets here. My advice to you, if you chose to go here, is that you take advantage of the fact we live in a day and age where A.I./ChatGPT/Gemini that can explain things to you, and explain new medications to you, along with the safety protocols/procedures (including additional blood work) that veterinarians should be following when prescribing new meds. When those protocols are not followed, you are the one that will have to live with the outcome. Additionally any help you might want with follow up questions for the vet, you will be routed to the front desk girls that may or may not get around to asking the vet and then the vet may or may not get around to answering them to which they may or may not remember to call you back. If you do manage to get a hold of a vet after the run around, there seems to be a level of annoyance and lack of bedside manner. We will be finding a new vet.

We placed our complete trust in Dr. Peterson and her incredible team, and they did not disappoint. They saved our Kirby, and we will be forever grateful. They kept us informed every step of the way, giving us peace of mind during one of the most stressful moments we've experienced. Thank you, Dr. Peterson and your amazing team, for giving our sweet boy a second chance. Your kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.

This was quite possibly the worst, most disappointing experience I have ever had. We took our long…read morehaired dachshund in because she was consistently pooping blood. We were told there would be a wait, which was expected as it is a first priority based place. What was not expected was to be told either pay $165 to wait for hours in a room and then pay an additional $2000 for bloodwork, X-rays, etc. or to just pay the $2000 up front to "skip the line". No vet looked at her, there was no exam, there was not even an idea of what could be causing this or what they would be testing for. After discussing with my husband, we thought we would try to keep her comfortable at home until our vet opened in the morning. We were home for an hour and then our dog began throwing up blood as well as pooping it. I decided to take her back because I was so worried she was getting dehydrated. Her gums were looking pale at this point and the diarrhea and vomit was constant. I took her back in and paid the $165 for the room. They knew why I was there because I had already come in. They had me wait two hours before anyone came in. At this point, my dog had been having bloody diarrhea and bloody vomit for 8 hours NONSTOP. I had to go to the receptionist and ask for dog pads because my dog was getting blood all over myself and all over their floors. I also went to the receptionist after two hours had past and asked if anyone was coming to see my dog. She seemed surprised no one had yet. She went to the back room to ask and that's when I got really upset. Their walls are thin and I heard every word and someone back there had the audacity to say, "Well if she hadn't left we would have seen her already!" This made me extremely upset. I was already heartbroken that I could do nothing for my dog and feeling helpless and sobbing and to hear that was like a slap in the face. So when the vet tech came into the room I was really upset after he told me that two hours later all they would do is the $2000 blood work. I asked if they could get her fluids, anti nausea, ANYTHING TO MAKE HER COMFORTABLE while we were waiting. He refused and repeated what I heard through the walls. That it was my fault I didn't stay earlier. I was even told that I would have to leave her overnight...the place closed at 7 am and it was already 3:30 am at this point. By the time they did all of this testing and got me results and a treatment plan, I could have taken her into her vet that opened at 7:00 am and that's exactly what I did. And that's when I made the decision that I would rather have my dog of 7 years die in my arms at home then give one cent to these people. I got ahold of her amazing vet and they got her in right away, knew immediately that she had HGE based on her symptoms and giving her a BASIC physical examination, and started treating her immediately. I paid $2,800 for EVERYTHING: bloodwork, xray, medications, treatment, hospitalization for three days, etc. When I was being asked to pay $2000 up front at this place with no ideas of what it could be and refusal to start anything that could possibly make her feel any better. My problem was not the wait. Or the order of priority. My problem is that they will not do anything to help your dog when it is clearly in distress and dying without intervention. Fluids are a BASIC essential to vomiting to help with dehydration. So is an anti nausea. Anything to stop the vomiting or diarrhea and then they could have ran every test in the world. On top of that, I was basically shamed into trying to make the best decision for the dog that I love and consider family. I'm so disturbed by this place and how they so clearly prey on vulnerable people in the Central Valley who have no where else to go in an emergency. I will never go here again and I hope you read the reviews on here and make the same decision.

It's difficult to give a great review for such a sad occasion, but it is deserved. Our girl was 15…read moreyears old, and a larger dog so we were amazed she was with us as long as she was. Over the last year or so Chessie became nervous with new people, and she was also with Dr. Farmer. But it all happened as Dr. Farmer had explained over the phone and at the visit, and she performed her services thoroughly, quickly, and with no unexpected events. Dr. Farmer is open to talking about this experience and how it may affect other pets and children, and willing to offer her opinion if asked. We chose to not have my 9 year old child present, and we did allow our remaining dog (Chessie's ever-present companion for the past decade or so) to sniff and inspect the area and Chessie briefly after her death. Chessie's death happened in the comfort of our home, on our terms and without the sights and smells and severe stress that is present at a cold and clinical vet office visit. Looking back, the only thing I would've done differently is perhaps a couple of "routine" house visits prior so Chessie would've possibly been more at ease with a "stranger" in our home. Dr. Farmer brought Chessie's remains back a week or so later. Personally, if possible, I will never bring a pet to a vet's office again to be euthanized. I will pay the extra expense of having Dr. Farmer come over. I look at it this way: the comfort, the laughs, the cuddles, the silliness over the past 14+ years that Chessie provided to me and my family is not able to be converted into a monetary value. She helped our heads, our hearts, and our souls. To pay a bit extra to make her more comfortable in her final moments is the very least I could do for her. I'm just glad I found someone as caring and competent as Dr. Farmer to perform this service for us, for Chessie. I'm still so sad about missing my big old girl. I've been home from work for the past many months, so her absence now leaves a huge hole in my heart and wherever she decided to lay. I miss her huge hound ears, her big soulfull hound eyes, that loud bark when I disappeared and all of those glorious spots. Miss you, Jazzy Girl. Thanks to Dr. Farmer.

Everyone that I interacted with at the appointment was incompetent. The tech was incredibly rude. She didn't even perform the exam on my pet that I paid for before talking -- incorrectly -- about how my pet only had a few months left. When I checked out, the receptionist double charged me for the tests. Then, when I told her about the techs behavior she said 'say no more, but she has bad days and good days'. After she said this, the receptionist then threatened to put a 'note' on my families account because I spoke up about the visit.
