I'm impressed. This vet office might be a little out of the way, but it's well worth it. They are SO affordable, they didn't try to sell me anything, they gave me a free sample of an expensive flea/heart worm medicine, and a free blood test! The blood test showed my new puppy's protein levels were down and the vet discussed dog food and additions I could make to improve protein levels. At least two of the vets have degrees from the University of California!! Amazing! The office has a lot of staff too which was surprising. The older vet was a complete piece of garbage and was extremely rude and insulting. There are many many other vets in the area and I would only use these people as a last resort. They love their jobs & the animals brought to them. They saved my baby. Other vets told me to put her down & were careless with her. This was during covid and they weren't accepting new clients but made an exception for my furry baby. i will never forget the kindness of these vets everything about them. You can trust them with your pets they'll love them the way you do. Tuby underwent a surgery that was rarely performed and had low chances of surviving and they never gave up on her. She had her entire bottom half of her body twisted her legs were shattered. This was in 2020 it's now 2022 and she is so healthy she jumps everywhere in our house! We have been using Lone Oak for well over 30years. Their Vets are AMAZING. Until Covid they had a satellite Office in Three Rivers saving us from a pretty long drive to the Vet. WONDERFUL people. Great small town attitude and COMPLETE compassion towards both our pets and our Family. Cannot imagine using anyone else. GREAT Veterinarian. We've used the m so long they have become friends. The last time Gertie Lou our Mini Bull Terrier had her Checkup, Doctor Humassen senior Got down on the floor and was examining her. And she just revels in the attention. He stopped, looked up at me with the most sincere look and said to me, "This is why people become Veterinarians". That was one of those great moments. read more

My now neutered dog is asleep in my lap as I write this. His surgery seems to have gone well and I can finally stop worrying about him. We dropped him off this morning and were able to stay with him until the initial sedation injection kicked in. My fiance and I were pleased that the staff allowed us to stay so long. Only criticism is they should have given his promethazine prior to the hydromorphone and it would have done better to prevent the ensuing vomit. I watched my drug-drunk dog wobble down the hallway in the safe hands of a vet tech and imagined all the horrible things that could go wrong. Lone Oak Veterinary Clinic can be trusted though :) Dog was happy to see me when I picked him up this afternoon. Clear instructions for post-surgical care, pain meds... cone of shame... when to eat, help to the car. I give the staff an A. And the procedure cost less than the written estimate! Win! We tried two other vet clinics in the Visalia area and were most pleased with Lone Oak after our initial visit. A friend with a miniature pinscher recommended it. There wasn't an excessive wait time, the doctor and techs took time with us and our animals and our numerous questions, and the office is nice (front office staff is lovely, too!) I love the James Herriot feel of driving past the steer and horses on the way into the clinic. read more

I have been going to lone oak for several years in fact they removed my granddaughters dogs leg after being attacked by a pit bull. They are great doctors but way to busy! I called a couple days ago when my whippet hurt her back and they told me I would have to wait four days for an appointment even though she was in extreme pain! Are you kidding! I called Caldwell Veterinary Hospital and was in there in an hour! Super nice and doctor told me he will ALWAYS see an animal in pain immediately! I will NEVER take my animals anywhere else. This place has a family atmosphere and makes you feel welcomed as soon as you walk through their stain glass door. Their prices are extremely reasonable compared to the other vets in the town. Their staff is absolutely amazing...Melinda especially! She is always so friendly and welcoming no matter who you are! The doctors there are so thorough and usually find out the issue instantly! They constantly make you feel as if you are apart of their family! The clinic was also very clean and sanitary...which is extremely important these days! It smells fresh and clean. Im extremely thankful i found this clinic! I recently moved to Visalia and decided to switch vets for one closer... 1.) I work third shift and after a long shift at the hospital I showed up 10 minutes early to my 8am appointment. The vet arrived into the room I was in about 8:35. Not sure why so late as I was the first appointment, other than he was late for work. 2.) I was asked to muzzle my dog that has NEVER been aggressive in any way towards anyone. (I wish I would have walked out then). 3.) I asked about the dogs weight because my previous vet had me taking a few pounds off him and what I thought was a pretty straight forward question kind of got a very condescending answer. This is when I started to feel a bit awkward. 4.) The vet then asked me about flea medications. I told him I don't give my dogs medications unless necessary. (I'm a medical professional for the largest hospital in the area and i wouldn't ask a patient to use lice medication if they had no lice...why would i do the opposite with my dog?)They don't have fleas. He proceeded to pull out a flea comb and brush my now cowering dog who's feeling awkward and muzzled... I don't know who felt more awkward my dog or me. 5.) Vet then gives a bordetella vaccine (which is the only reason we are there) He shoves the syringe into the dog's mouth and squirts it in through the muzzle. I've always seen this given via nasal but don't really question that part because hey I'm not a vet. 6.) I'm given my total 119 bucks for a bordetella my last vet charges 19 and waives the office visit when its the 6 month mid vaccine since its a quick in and out 3 minutes...which is how long i spent with this vet! ... After pushing why it's so much I realize they are selling me the flea med Brevecto... 50 bucks. I decline and they go in for another hard sell. *Would you take any medication with symptoms of kidney failure, seizures, heart failure and the list goes on. Since hitting the market the EU has done extensive studies on the drug and after my own research it's been contributed to 2,100 pet deaths in the EU alone. As a health professional I would think this a LAST RESORT to prescribe to dogs that have severe flea allergies or issues like that...NOT nonchalantly to dogs with no flea issues at all... ever. The vet is gone already thank god and after another hard NO from me the vet tech litteraly just walked away and closed an employees only door in my face as I walked out... So... I pay upfront I guess? I go upfront and am told 119 is my total. I can see the Brevecto sitting on the counter! I again tell them I do not want the medication. The lady huffs loudly and says "I have to change this billing then". I agree with her. 10 minutes later she has it done and I walk out the door 69 bucks for what would have been 50 bucks cheaper had i drove to Hanford...also the time would have figured out about the same because my old vet was never 35 minutes late or spent 15 minutes of my time arguing about meds my dog didn't need 3 TIMES and then 10 minutes to correct it off the bill as if I would just say okay i'll take it! 7.) In the 10 minutes i was waiting for the bill to be adjusted a gentleman walked in with a cat in a carrier. It made and huge angry long meow that cats do when he set it down. My dog spun around and huffed a quick blowing air out his jowls... ps... he's an 86 pound German Shepherd Hound Mix his best friends are his F1 Goldendoodle Brother we've had since he was 6 pounds, an 8 year old shih tzu that stops by for 4 months in the winter when my parents visit and a 7 pound pound yorkie that resembles a squirrel. He also for the first 2 years of his life lived with 2 cats. MAN: "Thats why I'm not a dog person!" (I'm mildly offended but you cant blame the business for this) LADY BEHIND COUNTER: "I know he's scary isn't he!" NOW I AM ANGRY! I pay, I leave. 8.) I managed to get to the end of the driveway skirted by beautiful pastures, orchards and at the end of the drive parked between the lovely brick wall accents sporting the Lone Oak name. It's really picturesque...almost country club like and reminds me of several places I go to golf...a shame the people are so rude and financially focused. From the end of the driveway I called and immediately cancelled my F1 Goldendoodles neuter for the following month and both of there next 6 next 6 month appointments. I then called my old vet and reschedule everything with Dr. Singh and I'm HAPPY to drive all the way to Hanford to get quality veterinary service from a vet who is focused on whats best for the animals and not making the most money possible off every visit. Conclusion: Vet was 35 minutes late to 1st appointment of day, disrespectful rude staff, tried to upsell unnecessary pharmaceutical meds and rudeness escalated after my 3rd refusal, Price is very high for subpar service, Reported their upsell pharma tactics to the state licensing board. HIGHLY recommend you find another vet! read more

Brought my DOMESTIC cat to get his teeth cleaned. When I brought him back home, he came back with ringworm. I'm sure contaminated tools and/or environment were the culprit as my INDOOR cat doesn't ever come in contact with any other animals. Also, another animals pee was on the floor. The vet didn't really give me an answer as to if it was ringworm, yet had me purchase anti-fungal drops for him ‍ idk what changed but I had such a good experience before but now I'm thinking of changing vets!!! read more

This clinic treats your family members like a used car dealership. Their only concern is for the upsale. Be prepared for a $300.00 bill every time you walk through the doors for basic visits, because they keep finding things to tack on to the bill and charge for. The last straw for me was to be quoted one price for a minor procedure only to have the price more than double when the time came to do it. (Into the Thousands $$$) (Price gouging in the middle of Covid.) If your pets are your family members, I strongly recommend anyone else. read more

I brought my rabbit in because she was pulling her fur. This was my first time ever visiting this vet, I had to make a lengthy commute to make it to our appointment since most vets don't take exotics. Since the moment I walked in, the staff was very kind and welcoming, I was treated with respect and they were very helpful in understanding what was going on with my Mo. They gave her medicine and a topical for such a low cost, and also gave her a free nail trim. I couldn't be happier with the way our visit went. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive. read more

I can't say how grateful I am to have found this Vet enough. Every doctor my dogs have seen there have been nothing less than amazing. My new puppy got his last sets of shots this morning, and had a bad reaction a few hours later. Lone Oak stayed late after their close time so I could bring him back in. Dr. Konrad took his time examining him, and was super reassuring. He treated him with an anti inflammatory and benadryl, and they didn't even charge me for the 2nd visit (or meds)! You can tell this place is not just in it for the money. They truly care about your pet. Even though it was past closing time, the front office encouraged me to stay a bit to make sure my pup was improving before we left. Dr. Konrad has even called in the past personally to check up on my dog's after a visit, and make sure they were doing well. This place is super shady. I will say the place is clean and they did a good job on my cat but I am beyond upset with their tactics. My cat needed her tail docked because the skin was falling off after a fight. They scheduled me for the next morning and when I asked how much it would cost I was told $200 plus the cost of the medicine. Ok fine. More than my last vet but I wanted to switch. My husband drops her off, they take her back and then he is given an estimate of $494 (I would have demanded for them to bring her back out but my husband didn't know what to do). When I go to pick her up my bill is now $600. Nothing extra was needed, there were no complications, apparently they they just left off the needed items from the original quote. When I complained the woman at the desk obviously could care less about their deceit and basically told me I should have known they would have all the extras fees that they never mentioned, and I was forced to pay to get my cat back. This isn't about the cost but the fact that they kept hiding charges until it was too late to back out. If you don't know how much a procedure is then don't give me a quote. Stay away from here. Mine isn't the first complaint about this same issue I've seen (I really should have listened but thought because they had more positive reviews they were just isolated cases). I hope they enjoy their conned money because they just lost a potential customer and a few relatives who were already customers. read more

I was referred to Lone Oaks Veterinary Clinic by my groomer. Twice they came to my rescue giving me advice once when my dog ate rat killed on the weekend after hours. Now when Selma Pet Clinic told me the results of my cat's blood work that she had cat leukemia by one of their uninformed employees that couldn't give me any advice other then give her vitamin B and treat with flea control. He did give me the number of the other clinic but they couldn't help me they either and said the doctor would get back to me after being on hold, but he never did. After days of trying to find out more, I had to go in but when I complained to Selma staff they said what do you want me to do were a small clinic and I'm getting it to you now. But they were not as informative as when I called Lone Oaks Clinic, they were so helpful polite and full of advice of what I needed to do: How she got it if she was an indoor cat to a cat enclosure? Is she contagious to my other cats? I'm not a regular patient... Lone Oaks gave more compassionate advice of how to prolong my cat's life and keep my other cats safe not having to put her down. Where Selma Clinic advice was to put my cat down. They might be more expensive, but your animal is in good compassionate hands. Hands down they are the best in the Valley!!!!! read more
