After some back and forth negotiations we decided to go to John's Cafe. She loves the food served there. I had only one experience dining at John's about five years ago and I didn't remember anything noteworthy about it. Today they had fillets and two sides for their lunch special. At 12.50 USD. each we couldn't resist! The fillets were cooked to order perfectly. They were tender and tasty. We could have spent 10x this much at any steakhouse and would not have received a better couple of steaks! Two sides each came with the special. I had perfect fries and wonderful onion rings. The least they could do is put the lettuce between wet meat and the cheese. They could use enough cheese to cover more than 65% of the bread, and they could spread the meat out so you're not just eating bread. Like so many sandwich shops, the employees do not care how the sandwich looks or tastes, and the sandwiches reflect that. The manner in which you assemble a sandwich, even with the same ingredients, is the difference between good & bad. I could take the same ingredients and make a much better sandwich just by giving a shit. Stop praising this kinda place and set some standards for yourself. There's like 3000 restaurants in Greenville, 65% of them need to go away, I'd say this one is on the list.
