Full transparency, we did pick a color that is not always stocked and you have to search for. I felt there were many misfires of communication that would have changed how I felt. Joel, however, is the show stealer. He went above and beyond to make himself available when he promised to be. Not so much on days he did not commit to but he did follow up and was a pleasure to work with. He made sure the project closed as I wanted it to. He promised to be done by today. Sure enough the crew was even when the downpour started. They really were the best price especially for a non traditional color when it came to siding.

I needed a switch replaced and a couple of bathroom cabinets and light fixtures installed. First, on the day they were supposed to come give me an estimate, they forgot about my appointment. Okay. Fine. A few days later the same guy comes to do the work. I don't really look too closely, but I say it's fine. Later, I realize there's paint peeled off the wall where he replaced the switch. And he didn't plaster over the old holes from the old light fixtures. The old hole and wire were full exposed in each bathroom. I show the owner who says he'll come over and fix it. Three times we had to reschedule. Three times. I work a full time job and then some. It's not easy for me to be at home waiting. Finally someone comes. It's not the owner. It's the same guy I complained about. How awkward. He plasters up the wall and seems ready to go. He said it was 5 minute plaster and would be dry soon. I asked if he needed the paint. The paint? Yeah, for the bathroom to paint over the plaster when it's dry. He looked at me like I had two heads. He eventually did it and hung the mirrors back up (yes, even with the wet paint). How could he not realize what was expect of him in this simple job? This company kind of just left me scratching my head. Maybe my jobs were just too small for this supposed handyman company.

This was our first time using this company for the staircase landing leading up to the main entrance and pavers. It has been nearly 2 years since we moved into this home and needed renovation to the outside of our home, so we was excited when Melvin and his crew came on board to help us accomplish that especially during covid. Melvin and his crew worked so hard to be done within the time frame promised which was 5 days and I was very optimistic from the start. Upon completion we hired them again to do the basement because we had to fire the guys who was doing our basement which was at the same time melvin was refacing the front of our home. We asked melvin if he wanted to take on in sealing the floor and painting the basement and so he did. Their work was done in such a timely and professional manner we acted fast and had him look at our backyard where we wanted to add a floating deck by extending it another 15×16 feet. He replied by saying that "He specializes in Decks which was his favorite area of work. We actually had to let another guy go because he was going to be done in 14weeks and he didn't even start yet, and Melvin and his crew was going to take 7 days. At this point it's business and nothing personal. The crew couldn't have been more courteous and conscientious to detail also very patient with my vision in how I needed it to look. When he began, I have to admit that I was skeptical. I just did not see what I was invisioning and describing but that's because it was just all a mess back there (see Photos) Again I'm so pleased to report that the crew worked tirelessly and pretty silently throughout the week onsite and demonstrated respect during their brief encounters with us. Overall the jobs involved waiting for permits, digging, scraping, cementing, building, cutting & painting. Once finished, the cleanup could've been better and that's the only Con I have. I am partial to supporting and maintaining a relationship with a true contractor. M&N has demonstrated the same quality of work from our first project to the current ones. Before the project began, I requested/checked references provided. I also spotted their ongoing work throughout yelp, so I made it a point to privately embark on my own personal inspection as I do with everything. I have already determined that I will be using M&N Construction for our next project around Spring 2021 for now our In-Home renovation and I would be happy to offer a more detailed recommendation and referral if/when needed. Thanks so much Melvin and Crew!!!!!!!!!!.

The biggest job I've hired him for so far was to brace/strengthen and refinish my deck. I had the decking replaced last year, but didn't get around to finishing it after it had seasoned. A year passed and the wood was starting to look dry and cracked. My little daughter couldn't go out barefoot anymore because she would get splinters every time. Kris gave me a competitive quote and made an excellent recommendation on a material to refinish and protect the decking. Now the deck looks brand new, it has a little bit of texture to provide traction if it's wet, no more splinters, and it's super easy to clean. It was an all-day job for Kris and two helpers, and I couldn't be happier. I appreciate that Kris is willing to do some little jobs too. I hired him to clean my gutters, and another time I hired him to do some repair work and repainting to part of the exterior of my house. It's good to have a business like KAR that you can always call on to do good work for anything related to home improvement or home repair.

And in two decades none of them have come close to the professionalism, price, trust and expertise KAR brings to job everyday. Kris and his crew essentially rebuilt my entire home over a 3 month period. Spanning from wall removal, bathroom renovation, rerouting electrical, custom sink installs,, adjusting floor deflections, baseboard customization, door installs, crown molding and painting. Literally everything I could throw at him was not only done on time, but it was done right and at the price quoted with no surprises and there was zero worry about leaving him and his team to work without me home or around my dog. Even the most mundane jobs, like silencing every creak in every floorboard and hot water pipe in the house was done and Kris refused to leave the job site until it was completed. You're not getting a guy that does contracting as his job. You're getting a contractor that DOES his job, period. No matter what you're looking to do, I highly suggest calling Kris first for a quote or second opinion. I'll wager the only problem you'll have is being forced to put out an extra plate on Thanksgiving because a new family member will be getting invited over.
