He's no longer doing inspections because he's not certified, since Ohio changed their laws a year or so ago. So he was just doing a walk thru to let me know if the house was worth what it was selling for, for $75, but was he getting paid to find his next project? Did he tell me the truth, no pictures? He said he told the neighbors he was working for the bank? Was he it for himself?

When the return calls started to come in I "being in customer service" paid close attention to how I was being treated and how I felt about the person talking to me. I decided to go with Buckeye Home Inspections. I was spoken to in a professional manner and they went out of their way to meet my needs schedule wise. Curtis was our inspector and I was BLOWN away with how detail oriented he was and how willing he was to explain every detail as well as answer any question we had. The company and Curtis are simply amazing. 30 days after the inspection we happen to be in a situation with the seller and I needed more to go on from the inspection day. I called on a Sunday thinking I would get the office voicemail, I did get voicemail but within 30 min Curtis called me back.. I was blown away since it was a Sunday. I explained I needed all pictures of a specific part of the inspection and I told him I was not expecting him to give up his weekend for this.. 30 minutes later the pictures were in my inbox.. Early in my customer service career "I am now 42" I held a position overseeing 16 people. My mission statement then was "I can go anywhere in the state of Ohio and get bad service, Lets be someone different!!!" Curtis and Buckeye Home Inspections obviously live by that standard as well!!! Hired this inspection company last fall for a home purchase. Discovered 2 weeks after closing $20k…read morein structural damage clearly visible in the crawlspace. Will cost another $20k to fix the drainage issues that caused the damage, also not caught by our inspector. Every professional we've had in our crawlspace is shocked the inspector missed this. We filed a claim with their error and omission insurance, which denied everything and said all the wood must have rotted within the month between inspection and our discovery.. the wood is not even sitting on parts of the sill it's so rotted. It's clearly long term damage. They also include a clause in the inspection contract that says if they do miss anything, they are only liable for the cost of the inspection! They have no incentive to do a thorough job.
