Mike was super friendly and kind and he took a look at my engine check the transmission fluid ran a scan on the engine and found two ignition coils misfiring. He opened up the cap and there were two dead mice in there. He found the problem in less than 10 minutes. Results may vary! Lol! Mind you this same SUV had been gone over for safety prior to the school year exactly 1 month earlier on 12/23/24 by a friend and owner of a well respected auto shop in Excelsior MN outside of MPLS and was given a clean bill of health. The only complaints for the SUV was a known nail in the passenger front tire of which they charged an acceptable $26.99. What was "found" during the visit was the need to Remove and Replace both front lower Control Arms $986.32, Computerized 4 wheel alignment $159.95 and Remove and replace Valve Cover Gasket $757.88 for a total of $2093.27. We drove to Duluth and took the SUV to another auto shop and that shop was given the estimate sheet from 4th Street Auto as kind of a "cheat sheet" to guide them on what possibly needed to be repaired. After a full day of driving to and from Duluth and the expense of another car exam the final diagnosis was.....none of those suggested repairs were needed. I would personally suggest using caution if you are a young female student or anyone with no car knowledge taking your car in for repairs to this establishment.
