Not into giving bad reviews, but now that the weather's getting hot again I really wish Paul Porch (owner, tech, etc) had given better service. The tint I got is way lighter than what he replaced, and working out the details with him was such a pain that arguing over the work he did isn't worth it. His office gal (Stephanie, I think) was real nice so she gets the star, but that doesn't really help me now. Here's the break down if you're interested: Dropped the car off an got a quote of $325 to remove tint & re-tint all the windows. The front windows had to be a bit lighter to pass inspection but the rear windows & hatch glass could be as dark as they were, about as dark as they get (not sure the %). Paul, who I never met, calls & says it's an extra $25 because he'd have to prop up the hatch, since the gas shocks were busted. No prob, I pick up the car and go buy & install new shocks & drop it off next day. Then he calls and says the old tint is de-laminated so he'll have to scrape it off which will add $25 to the job & will probably take off the rear defroster. No prob, go ahead with the work. On both of these calls his attitude really sucked. Never did he ask if I wanted the same shade of tint as before, nothing like that. Maybe Stephanie didn't tell him that I wanted the same tint on the rear of the car, but good service includes attention to detail. So I pick up the car and am dismayed to find that the tint is not right, but then it occurs to me, this is just a pain in the ass to Paul. Two shades of tint on the same car? Dream on! If you have some high-end luxury/sports car he'll probably kiss your ass, but don't bring in your modest economy car & have him be pleased to take your money, even if you pay in cash. [I priced out this place & a place called GT Tint in Mandeville. They use a 3M film whereas Pro-tek uses Sun Gard (I think). Prices were comparable & both films have similar warranties. If you need or want window film, I strongly recommend Paul and Protek window films. I just had Suntek CXP film installed on a 2011 Hyundai Genesis and was more than pleased with the quality and service. This by far is the best film and install I ever had on a vehicle. The quality of the film and install was so good that within an hour, someone commented on the install and made an appointment to get their's done! I was unhappy with the window film I chose for my double doors and Paul refuses to come out and change the film out AT MY EXPENSE, NOT HIS. After the film was installed, 2 days later I called him and asked what it would cost me to change out the film. He said he would get back to me and didn't. When I called him back, both phone numbers on my receipt were disconnected numbers. I then had to go on the internet and found other numbers, one had no voicemail left and the other he answered. After discussing my problem he hung up on me. He also cashed my check knowing that I was waiting for a return call from him that I was unhappy with the windows. I also have 2 6 foot windows on the front of my house that he failed to see were 2 different types of glass. I was unaware of the different glass until his technician told me at installation time. After his assistant put the film up who said the film may be slightly different in color from the other window, 'slightly' is the key word he used, one 6 foot window is ocean green and the other is bronze. Paul was recommended to me by someone but if you absolutely can't find someone else, insist that he bring samples of his film so you and he can make a proper decision that will look nice. He appeared to be in a big hurry the day he came and I trusted him to be giving me correct information so that when his technician came I wasn't faced with the true facts about the products and having to re-think my choices. The technician recommended different tint then Paul did which caused my problems. I would also not be impressed with the "lifetime warranty" that he says his company gives which by the way he is the owner I believe. We all know that there is no such thing as a lifetime warranty because as soon as the company no longer exists there goes your warranty. If Paul continues to have customer problems such as myself, well, there goes your lifetime warranty. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND this business. Very poorly run. I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance in May 2013 to have my vehicle's window tinted. I dropped my car off the night before, and returned the following day at 4:30 to pick it up. Guess what ... no one had even touched it. No one at the business knew what had happened, but they were sorry. I was told by Tristen that they would call me back to let me know. A week passed, no one called, so I called them again and spoke with Madison. She apologized and said she would call me back. Two weeks later, no call. Clearly they don't want my business - I had three cars I was planning to get tinted there. I would highly NOT RECOMMEND this business to anyone. Very poorly run. And if you have a chance to speak to Paul, the owner, you can let him know that his employees are not building his business very well. I will be taking my family's business elsewhere. read more

I hired this company to put window film on many windows in my home. During the installation the technician rubbed his tool belt back and forth on my antique furniture and ripped the delicate silk. I called Paul right away and sent him pictures. He ignored my text. I sent him another text which also was ignored. Two weeks later I sent him another text which he responded to with a denial that his technician did this. I asked that the technician and a supervisor come to my home because I was sure that they would take responsibility and want to resolve the issue. He sent the technician only who admitted that he did not have help to move the furniture so he left the antique daybed in the space he was working. I have moved this piece with furniture slides many times. He also checked his tool belt height when on him to confirm that that is what happened. He admitted that this was him although he was not aware at the time. I was understanding as accidents do happen. I then emailed Paul and texted a few times with a quote for replacing the material. These were completely ignored. I ended up going to American Express to file a dispute but Paul told American Express that he did not know who ripped the material and that other contractors were in my home. He won the dispute because he lied and denied that his employee did this even though the employee admitted it. I am now having to hire an attorney out of pure principle to sue him so that the honest technician will be deposed and the truth will come out. Paul is very unproffesional in handling issues and prefers to take no responsibility and will lie without remorse. Would it have been that hard to file an insurance claim? What about an I'm sorry? What can we do to resolve this? Nothing at all. read more
