First, I had them install anti-UV film on my office windows (16 foot ceilings) which face south and west. The glare had been horrible. Now no glare, and a significant reduction in summer heat. So we just had them cover the south facing windows at home, which was complicated in a 1920's house with windows having many small panes. The work was flawless. The installer was on time, pleasant, and when he left, there was no mess left. The office staff was also terrific - helpful and knowledgable, and also pleasant. read more

The Pro-Tection people are highly skilled at installing film on windows. When I first looked at my windows I couldn't believe they actually had film over them. The only tell-tale sign is the slightly different color, compared to the windows without film. Yet, I find the film-covered windows more appealing. Especially, my skylight which now allows a nice light, without harsh glare. Having Pro-Tection install window film on my windows is one of the best things I've done for my home. The film keeps my home warmer on cold days and cooler on hot days. Plus, it protects my carpet and furniture from the damaging rays of the sun. I was also concerned about sitting at my desk, which faces a window, so the film also protects my skin from damage. I would highly recommend Pro-Tection! Their customer service, knowledge and professional install is superb! I had Pro-Tection install window film on several of our commercial properties. We experienced break-ins; and the film helps in that the windows will not just break easily with the film, but takes a lot of effort to gain access. We had to replace a large front window at our Cat Adoption Center that had been broken by someone throwing a rock and Pro-Tection Seattle installed the graffiti shield. They did a fantastic job on the installation and we couldn't be more pleased. They had actually handled the previous installation as well and the original shield provided extra tension preventing the window from shattering. Pro-Tection Seattle installed film on all of our west and south facing very large windows in 2008. Our primary goal was to prevent furniture and floor fading as much as possible, and the film has performed amazingly well. We almost never close our blinds, even during the hot summers, and the only fading I have noticed after ten years is on a couple of bedroom throw pillows. We recently did some remodeling in our basement, and decided to add film to those windows as well. Over the last 5 years I've had a series of solar roller shades installed by Pro-Tection. A couple of months ago I was painting and had trouble getting a couple of the shades down. Ron came out within 2 days and showed me how to remove them. Then last week I broke a chain on one of the roller shades (after 5 years of almost daily use). I called to see what my options were. Ron was out the next day, picked up the shade, had it repaired and reinstalled in less than a week, all at no extra charge. The shades are great quality, reduce glare/fading are look as good as the day they were installed. The price was more than fair for the quality and service. What is most valuable is the follow-up when an issue arises. They are timely, friendly and willing to make it right! I would defiantly use them again! read more

I had my sunroom in the house we bought here in Kenmore done by Protection about a year ago approx. In all honestly to all other home owners I would do more research before using this company. I had just had surgery on both shoulders and back surgery in the previous year before retiring or I would have done it myself. It was severely overpriced "Buyer beware" but I had to have it done. I asked them to leave me a piece 3 1/2' X 5 1/2' when they were leaving and they wouldn't without charging me $342.00 for the small piece and insisted they had to install it in the small window I was thinking of trying it in. This was after I just paid them $2000.00 plus tax for about three hours work.I'm sure the two fellows that did the windows were just following instructions. All other work I have had done over the years roofing, materials and excess from any work all contractors I have dealt with were more than happy to leave leftovers with me. When I checked the prices for what I asked them to leave it really upset me to put it mildly. Check it out. After that when they were leaving one of the workmen made a comment about the new car in my driveway like "You have money" well it was my brothers who was asleep downstairs. I highly recommend if you are getting windows done in your home for sun protection you do some serious research. For what they did and the time it took them it was severely overpriced. It was my fault being in a rush before the summer heat. The material doesn't even keep that much heat out. I don't recommend. read more
