Originally I was supposed to get a smog test at a station off country club tires and muffler, but when I showed up the clerk said they're tech is occupied doing work for the city I think or port of Stockton? and that I'd have to wait 2 days later on a Wednesday night (I went Monday last week, and don't worry I won't review them but I'm sure they're a good station, just bad timing with # of techs working this past week). But nonetheless she referred me to this station here off El dorado nearby the miracle mile area. The owner owns both these stations, but I wanted to use the coupon offer. I called and spoke with believe Steve. I asked about the coupon, he worked out a deal close to it based on the model of my car. So of course my 2011 corolla passed, quick 20 minutes, and was all set. Steve is a great guy and though I passed, he was helpful to advise on this other customer ahead of me of their smog problem with their older car I think (don't mean to eavesdrop), what brand spark plugs to recommend, what to do to prevent engine knocking, etc., like really helping them out. I am extremely pleased with my services today. I came in for a test only, not knowing if my car was even passable. The friendly gentleman at the counter reassured me and let me know if it didn't, my retest would be free. Not only that, but he was quite personable and didn't give off that sleezy-auto-shop-creeper vibe at all. In fact I felt right at ease and it was almost enjoyable, as far as spending my money on vehicle paperwork goes. I will DEFINITELY come here again for a smog check. I was trying to register my car because it was from Minnesota, and I was impressed with the owner right away. He asked if I my check engine light was one (which it was), and said that he wouldn't even test my car because it would be an automatic fail. I appreciated his honesty and the fact that he didn't just want my money. I got that fixed and came back. It was cheaper than other places, I got in right away, and the owner was especially nice. We chatted about airplanes and motorcycles and he even gave me a place for me to go to find a good deal on motorcycles (since I expressed to him that I'm always trying to avoid getting ripped off because I'm a girl). Great, fast service! I came here for the first time to get a smog check on my 'stang and was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes! The owner was a really nice/funny guy, who even stayed open a little later to accommodate me because I was running late. I was able to get a smog check here for under $50 because I used a coupon from the YellowPages. BUT, if you happen to be employed by Stockton Unified (like myself), you instantly get $10 off. This is a great place to bring your vehicles. Price is very reasonable and once your vehicle is being tested it doesn't take long. Why not 5 stars? There is no public restroom available. I am in my 70s, I had a heart transplant 3 years ago and part of my lung was removed at the same time. I take meds 8 times a day to weaken my immune system so I don't reject the new heart. One of the side effects of the meds is increased urination beyond control. Other Seniors know what I mean. I asked to use the bathroom and was refused. I was told to cross the street and use the Shell station. I can't walk that far without sitting down and gasping for air. So I tried to hold it but couldn't. I had no choice but to use a bush beside the business. The owner saw me and got mad. I tried to explain the situation to him but he said he didn't care to hear it and cut me off. He asked how I would like it if he came to my house and did that, if the situation was reversed I would have let him use my toilet. If he had let me use the bathroom none of this would have happened. I have 2 pick-ups and 3 cars so I guess I will call and find a smog shop that has a public restroom. Sorry Steve to have pissed on your dirt, but I didn't have any good choices. I hope when you are my age you don't have the physical problems I do, but if so, I hope you are shown a bit more compassion and understanding. read more

Pro tech Smog Center opens at 8 am, which is pretty handy. Their location was easy to find, being very close to the intersection of El Dorado and Alpine. Alan helped me this morning. He was very polite and personable. The waiting area was clean, with lots of seating, a television and magazines. It cost me 48$ for a smog test, certificate, and transmission to the DMV. I will definitely be coming back next month when my other car comes up for registration. read more

I found this place here in Yelp and skimmed over the review. The consensus was good so I decided to give them a call. They were very friendly and helpful. I was glad to know that I could just walk in and they would perform the smog check on my car in 15 minutes. They definitely delivered! Yelp helped me find this smog check station. Luckily there was no wait (came on a Monday late morning) and the smog check was done in just under 20 minutes. I didn't have a hard time finding it. I give this place 5 stars I got my Tahoe smog this morning at 7:30 12/20/16! He was very nice it was cold as hell but he had a portable heater to keep me and my fiancé warm during the smog. Wonderful service and price! The owner, Alan, was super nice and friendly, and it only took about 15-20 minutes. He asked me if I had a coupon from the Yellow Pages, which I didn't, but he gave me the $10 discount anyway.
