Just had my smog check & this is the 2nd time I've come here. Looks like I neglected to post a review last time, I just wanted to say I've always had great service here. They are fast and friendly. The lady at the lobby where you make your pmt is also very nice. My sidekick (doggie), Daisy was also welcomed to this business. Thank you for GREAT customer service!!! read more

Pro-Tech Smog Centers - New LOCATION - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Stockton, California

Steve is the best. I always go here to have vehicles smogged and have suggested Pro-Tech to others for the smogs. Can't recommend Enough! read more

Originally I was supposed to get a smog test at a station off country club tires and muffler, but when I showed up the clerk said they're tech is occupied doing work for the city I think or port of Stockton? and that I'd have to wait 2 days later on a Wednesday night (I went Monday last week, and don't worry I won't review them but I'm sure they're a good station, just bad timing with # of techs working this past week). But nonetheless she referred me to this station here off El dorado nearby the miracle mile area. The owner owns both these stations, but I wanted to use the coupon offer. I called and spoke with believe Steve. I asked about the coupon, he worked out a deal close to it based on the model of my car. So of course my 2011 corolla passed, quick 20 minutes, and was all set. Steve is a great guy and though I passed, he was helpful to advise on this other customer ahead of me of their smog problem with their older car I think (don't mean to eavesdrop), what brand spark plugs to recommend, what to do to prevent engine knocking, etc., like really helping them out. I will see him again next year 2018 for my next renewal. Thanks Steve! read more

Always my go to smog shop very quick and efficient, highly recommend. Taken several vehicles over the past few years.

I am extremely pleased with my services today. I came in for a test only, not knowing if my car was even passable. The friendly gentleman at the counter reassured me and let me know if it didn't, my retest would be free. Not only that, but he was quite personable and didn't give off that sleezy-auto-shop-creeper vibe at all. In fact I felt right at ease and it was almost enjoyable, as far as spending my money on vehicle paperwork goes. Hey, maybe I'm just elated that my car passed with flying colors, but give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. Friendly, no-bullshit service, bottom line. read more

Lucky day, no one but me there and no wait other then time to test car. No nonsense shop- down to business. Seems like a nice place. Would come back again. read more

I will DEFINITELY come here again for a smog check. I was trying to register my car because it was from Minnesota, and I was impressed with the owner right away. He asked if I my check engine light was one (which it was), and said that he wouldn't even test my car because it would be an automatic fail. I appreciated his honesty and the fact that he didn't just want my money. I got that fixed and came back. It was cheaper than other places, I got in right away, and the owner was especially nice. We chatted about airplanes and motorcycles and he even gave me a place for me to go to find a good deal on motorcycles (since I expressed to him that I'm always trying to avoid getting ripped off because I'm a girl). Awesome place. Awesome guy. read more

Always take you in even when close to closing .Very fast and at a fair price, has every old magazine in the book, cool to past time and reminisce. read more

Great, fast service! I came here for the first time to get a smog check on my 'stang and was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes! The owner was a really nice/funny guy, who even stayed open a little later to accommodate me because I was running late. I was able to get a smog check here for under $50 because I used a coupon from the YellowPages. BUT, if you happen to be employed by Stockton Unified (like myself), you instantly get $10 off. AMAZING! lol read more

Great, fast and reliable service! I've had to come here to pass while selling my old car and he gave me tips on how to make it pass! I've since returned with my new vehicle because of the great service and advice. read more

I cannot recommend them highly enough. I just got through with my smog check. In and out in less than 15 minutes for $40. That's it. Clean, professional, polite and got the job done with no fuss (and no, I don't know anyone there and no deals were made for the review) I'd give them more stars if I could. read more

This is a great place to bring your vehicles. Price is very reasonable and once your vehicle is being tested it doesn't take long. Why not 5 stars? There is no public restroom available. I am in my 70s, I had a heart transplant 3 years ago and part of my lung was removed at the same time. I take meds 8 times a day to weaken my immune system so I don't reject the new heart. One of the side effects of the meds is increased urination beyond control. Other Seniors know what I mean. I asked to use the bathroom and was refused. I was told to cross the street and use the Shell station. I can't walk that far without sitting down and gasping for air. So I tried to hold it but couldn't. I had no choice but to use a bush beside the business. The owner saw me and got mad. I tried to explain the situation to him but he said he didn't care to hear it and cut me off. He asked how I would like it if he came to my house and did that, if the situation was reversed I would have let him use my toilet. If he had let me use the bathroom none of this would have happened. I have 2 pick-ups and 3 cars so I guess I will call and find a smog shop that has a public restroom. Sorry Steve to have pissed on your dirt, but I didn't have any good choices. I hope when you are my age you don't have the physical problems I do, but if so, I hope you are shown a bit more compassion and understanding. read more

Great place and Steve is super helpful and friendly. I just took this week and it passed. I highly recommend this place.

Had my car smogged and showed up after hours not realizing they close earlier on Saturdays. The owner Steve still took care of my smog and was very pleasant and easy to do business with. read more

Pro tech Smog Center opens at 8 am, which is pretty handy. Their location was easy to find, being very close to the intersection of El Dorado and Alpine. Alan helped me this morning. He was very polite and personable. The waiting area was clean, with lots of seating, a television and magazines. It cost me 48$ for a smog test, certificate, and transmission to the DMV. I will definitely be coming back next month when my other car comes up for registration. read more

I found this place here in Yelp and skimmed over the review. The consensus was good so I decided to give them a call. They were very friendly and helpful. I was glad to know that I could just walk in and they would perform the smog check on my car in 15 minutes. They definitely delivered! I was happy to pay $30 considering other places charge a lot more. I will definitely come back and recommend this to others. read more

I took my Jeep in with the light on and he told me that it needed to get fixed before it could be smogged, and then helped me out with what I needed to do with DMV to be able to drive it...he was very helpful and welcoming. read more

Yelp helped me find this smog check station. Luckily there was no wait (came on a Monday late morning) and the smog check was done in just under 20 minutes. I didn't have a hard time finding it. Service was friendly and fast. I would return here again for another smog check in the future. read more

I give this place 5 stars I got my Tahoe smog this morning at 7:30 12/20/16! He was very nice it was cold as hell but he had a portable heater to keep me and my fiancé warm during the smog. The best smog check in Stockton. Great service, fast, and the price can't be beat. Don't hesitate to go here.

The owner took care of my smog test. He was friendly, honest and professional. What more can you ask for?

Great place to get a smog. Very fast, didn't have enough time to look through all the magazines! I tell all my friends and family about this place. read more

Wonderful service and price! The owner, Alan, was super nice and friendly, and it only took about 15-20 minutes. He asked me if I had a coupon from the Yellow Pages, which I didn't, but he gave me the $10 discount anyway. I had called around to a few other smog check stations, but they told me it would take about 45 minutes and the prices ranged from $58-68. At Pro-Tech, my total was $48 out the door, plus the "great, fast service" (as Alma mentioned in her review) definitely made my day. Thank you, Alan! read more

I've brought my cars here for years. Great place! Friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.

Needed to get a smog check done and called to find out some facts and prices. They have a coupon in the yellow pages but if you don't have it mention it and it saves you $10. The total cost out the door was $48 and was done in less than 15 minutes. The owner is very professional and friendly. Finally found a place where I will go every time I need a car smogged.
