I was denied talking with anyone... and that the gal out front who said she was the owners wife was the one who gave quotes, even though I saw no ASE Mechanic Certifications for her. So... I jump through their hoops anyway and started filing out their form. They wanted a phone number to text, but I don't have one for that, but she was fine with an email address to do the same, and said it would work. She said they would contact me for diagnosis (or something?) but she was already annoyed. She refused to let me finish filing out ALL the info on their form, snapped up her clip board from me, walked to the back, and that was that, never saw her again, and I've NEVER received an email quote either. Apparently business is so good they can treat customers poorly and throw money away. That's - THAT.

The noise over the years got progressively worse and with the car being under warranty I would routinely take the car over to Wilsonville Mercedes and my experience there was not awesome. Over three years I had the truck in the shop for months trying to fix or even claim to replicate the issue. Eventually the warranty runs out and the noise keeps getting worse. Well, at that point I start throwing parts at it. Changed the upper CA's, the right wheel bearing/hub, all the inner/outer tie rods, the air struts and despite everything I had done I could not resolve the issue. I made an appointment with Star Motors and took the truck in for a diagnosis. Spent a good amount of time going over what I'd done and what was happening. I dropped the truck off hoping for the best but recognizing that this was not fixed by many people. Welp, three hours later I get the call that they think they figured it out and fixed it. I biked over to get the truck and sure enough, it's fixed!!! My truck drives like a brand new truck again!! No clunks, no noises and with all the stuff I swapped it's like better than when I got it. I found my people. No reason to take a Mercedes anywhere else. I'm one happy human.

My truck was there 2 1/2 weeks. I was given all kinds of reasons why: part hasn't come in, unable to program part, auto still reverts back to original problem, unable to diagnose, need more time for testing, might have to send part back for replacement. Finally, I said, enough, I'm coming in to retrieve truck. Keenan, the guy at the counter said, "It's all fixed! I'm really happy with it!" I asked how so when the day before I was told they were stumped. He said it was 'miscommunication' between the service and tech departments. Huh? I asked him to explain but received a generalized non sensical answer. I paid cash, got the truck but the next day, all the same problems happened again. I called a dealership and asked if they could program the new FCM, they said, no problem, bring it in. I called Accurate Auto and said I want a return on the $300 for the programming. All sorts of excuses, more time needed, etc. I had no more time, my move was already delayed so I stuck to my guns. Eventually I talked to a manager and he agreed to refund the $300. Next day I went in and asked for the money and was told it had already been refunded. I asked how so? "To your card, see?" And Keenan flipped the monitor around for me to see. I asked "Whose card did you put this on?" "Yours!" he said. I said, "I paid cash" as it also shows right here on your monitor. Long silence. "Oh well I don't know where we keep cash." I pointed to the cash drawer. "This is out of my wheelhouse" he says. Then lots of to-ing and fro-ing to the office and back. I could hear the murmurs as they decided upon their next excuse. Meanwhile a customer sitting behind me said she was having doubts already about the place and that did it, she was getting her keys and car back right away. Tech-guy-turned-cashier comes back and tells me there is no cash and I would have to come back the next day. And no, they couldn't put the credit on a card. Manager Mike then steps out of the office and demands that I refrain from bad mouthing their business to waiting customers (as a second person in the lobby proceeded to tell me his experiences). I ignored Mike's comment because I didn't want to hear any more blathering and lose the focus of this trip. Besides I certainly didn't have to. Accurate Auto displayed their inadequacies all on their very own without any help from me. The next day Mike very cordially gave me the $300 cash. I then took my truck to a dealership where it was reprogrammed successfully for $225.

I also recently realized they take the time to report servicing and repairs to CARFAX ; something the dealership won't do which will affect my resale value ! I began taking my 2015 Volvo here for oil changes rather than the dealer and found them to be faster and about half the cost (I have a computerized system the usual quick oil change places can't do, not even top offs). I also asked them to make repairs I was quoted by dealership, again faster with full explanations and about 2/3 price. Nearly a year later, when I needed regular service, they got me in quickly and not only did the job well, but said they looked at the previous repair they did and didn't like how it was wearing and REPLACED FOR FREE! I truly would have never known . Honesty almost unheard of these days! Finally, my starter went out and they were like calling family... reassured me and fit me in as an emergency appointment. When a strange warning light came on soon after they helped diagnose, covered appropriate guaranteed portion and charged a fair price for the other issue (I needed an auxiliary battery also). Bottom line is mechanics are like doctors and diagnosing/repairs are both a science and art... not always clear cut and depend on the experience, ability to listen, care and trustworthiness of the "doc". I love taking my car to Canyon Auto because I know they will work with me to figure out the issue, repair with quality parts, and stand behind those repairs with amazing integrity, and always with a smile even when they're run ragged. They're not in it to make huge profits, just a fair fee , which helps me too! I'm so glad I found Han and Jim, and wholeheartedly recommended to all!

They did a decent job, but I believe I got charged for stuff that…read morewas unnecessary, e.g., removal of headlights that weren't connected to anything they were working on. I actually had them remove the charge for one of my headlights. But, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed ignorance on their part and the possibility that they removed at least one of the headlights because "that's what the computer said to do". You know how that works? These independent non-specific-vehicle-certified shops get these computers that tell them exactly what to do so the techs don't have to do a lot of thinking? It sometimes compresses the time they work on your car, but it could cost the consumer extra stuff that you wouldn't otherwise had to do even if it's quicker. Of course no one is as quick on working on your car as a technician/mechanic who works on the make and model of your car all the time. Then there was the overspray on surrounding areas of where the work was being done which I had corrected later on. They also employed the worst cleanup job I've experienced from over 8 autobody shops I've had various cars worked on over the years; it was dust material inside my car and all over the other parts of the body that weren't worked on. They couldn't even just wash it down. There was more from the vent when I turned on the AC. But, their labor rates were downright cheap compared to many for this type of non-dealership-type work. So, if you're just into cheap labor and don't care about getting nickel and dimed on other stuff you don't really know about because you don't really know much about cars, then by all means this is probably not too bad of a place. Either way, I don't really trust independent auto repair shops that also sell used cars on the same lot. There's always something shady in those places. Also, if you live in the Tigard area and looking for someplace close by to get DEQ tested....DO NOT GET YOUR DEQ TESTING HERE! Let me remind you of the cost for DEQ testing: -DEQ Centers = $25 DEQ fee + vehicle registration fee -Canyon Auto Repair in Tigard = $90 + $25 DEQ fee + vehicle registration fee. If your check engine light comes on while you're there and you want these guys to just do some troubleshooting they're going to charge you for that. And, if you're sucker enough that you also want them to repair said problem they probably created to generate business then it's going to cost you even more.

After a few hours they called and went over the couple issues they had found and should be replaced which they were very nice and helpful. They found that one control arm had some play in it and should be replaced, the brake vacuum was bad, and one of the window switches auto up didn't work. After taking this to the dealer they fixed the issue and all was well. After driving 100 miles back home we noticed the car didn't handle any bumps or turns very well. We took it to a local mechanic where they found the following wrong with it- Self leveling shock system (air bags and shocks) torn and blown out- $1500 Compressor for shocks burnt out and hasn't been operational for a long time- $1000 Upper passenger control arm causing stability issues and creaking (needs replaced and alignment)- $950 We paid $199 to have them check the important components of a car before buying. Now we are stuck with a bill totaling over $3000 on a vehicle with less than 150 miles from us driving it. Do not take your car here for pre-purchase inspections. These are all common failure points for this vehicle with this many miles as confirmed with multiple other trusted local mechanics in our area. The least they could do is refund this inspection fee to help cover the cost of repairs of a car we wouldn't have bought in the first place if due diligence was done as we trusted it would be.
