I started going to Crunch Fitness Northridge for strength training with a personal trainer roughly…read moretwo years after sustaining an ischemic stroke. The first time I entered Crunch, Stephen/Steven at the front desk smiled and greeted me; he made me feel welcome. Bishoy, a former manager was also awesome! He asked whether I cared about the age or gender of the personal trainer. I didn't. Given my existing condition, he strongly recommended Ryan Ainsworth. Ryan is exemplary! He has the eye of a physical therapist and is arguably as good as one - if not better! He is kind and nurturing. Whenever I'd whine about the difficulty of an exercise, he'd always encourage me while ensuring that I'd perform that exercise with fidelity. Ryan possesses the sublime ability to immediately adjust specific exercises to meet my personal needs. Ryan's nuanced adjustments are sublime! Current and former managers Bishoy, Johnny (at the Norwalk location), Armando, CJ, and Charlie always exhibited genuine kindness combined with outstanding customer service during times I had to postpone training for extended period of time due to illness, cataract surgeries, and fractured toes as a result of being clumsy at home. Ryan Ainsworth has given me the grace to accept myself, be resilient, and prevail with this "new normal" for which I am eternally grateful!!!

Unfortunately, management is a completely different story. They are opportunistic and very inconsiderate. Despite me sending emails and calling ahead of time to confirm that I would not be charged after the three-month agreement, they still charged my card anyway. I don't like to argue, so I took matters into my own hands and showed my bank the emails and explained that I had called to get reassurance beforehand; yet I was still charged. That alone says a lot about their lack of integrity and morality. What made this even more frustrating is that after the bank reimbursed me, management suddenly called me again to "cancel" the training and I forwarded the same email I had already sent months ago stating I wanted to cancel after three months. This felt extremely tedious and reactive, especially since I had already been clear and proactive from the beginning. Please read the Yelp reviews before signing up. Ben is amazing and truly cares about his clients, but management(especially Armando) makes the overall experience unnecessarily frustrating and disappointing.

Machines here were typically hogged by groups of people not actually using them, equipment was dirty, people would come here to take pictures and record themselves rather than actually workout etc ‍ I originally signed up in 2019 (before Covid) and would continue to be billed even after I tried to cancel during quarantine. After noticing I was still being billed for an unwanted membership, I get on the phone with a representative only to be told I needed to come down in person to handle this. VERY INCONVENIENT after I let them know I'm out of state and can't just show up in person. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any of the unwanted charges reversed by my bank, but I was able to put a stop to future payments. Soon after, Crunch began blowing my phone, harassing with deceptive collection calls, threatening to ruin my credit if I didn't make a payment for a service I no longer wanted/needed. This was around 2021. Fast forward to today, now noticing there has been several other people with similar complaints. Crunch sure shows zero care for their reputation or good standing if this is how they treat people. I would NEVER recommend Crunch Fitness to anyone.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Since I booked through ClassPass, I just had to show my ID and sign in. I was directed to where the women's locker room was as well as where the class would take place. Since I was there early, I sat in the sauna for a bit to warm my body. It was very clean and the perfect temperature. The studio itself was fantastic and the aerial silks were placed just the right distance for us to swing. The teacher was amazing and was great at giving instruction and coming around to help us get into each pose and ensure we were doing them properly. I felt really stretched out after and left feeling like I got a great workout! I am so glad to see a gym offer aerial classes and cannot wait to return again!

Most of the front desk guys ignore me during front check in and only seem to acknowledge people they want to flirt with and get super loud with their male customers. Super uncomfortable environment as a woman. I'm planning to finish out my membership and switch to Equinox. They are opening one in Burbank in June 2026. I'm paying way too much for limited equipment access and an environment that feels like a men's jock locker room.

I joined the personal training program in August of last year and Leslie my trainer is amazing!…read more From day one, she took the time to understand my goals, my limitations, and my schedule--and built a program that actually works for me. Every session is challenging without being overwhelming, and I always leave feeling accomplished instead of defeated. What really sets her apart is the balance of motivation, knowledge, and accountability. She explains why we're doing each exercise, make sure my form is correct, and push me just enough to keep making progress. I've seen real improvements in my strength, confidence, and overall fitness that I honestly didn't think were possible. If you're looking for a trainer who is professional, encouraging, and truly invested in your success (not just counting reps), she is the one. Best decision I've made for my health--highly recommend!

I've been coming to this gym for years, so writing this feels a little like breaking up with…read moresomeone you've invested time in. But here we are. I signed up for the Peak Results (PR) membership specifically so I could access multiple locations, classes, and amenities since I move around a lot for work. I've mostly trained at the Santa Clarita location because it's close to home and, until now, it's been convenient. One of my friends coaches group fitness there, and I've been attending his HIIT and Body Pump classes for years without issue. Then yesterday (2/10/26), I get pulled aside and told I can't take the class because I "don't have the right membership." Excuse me? I have the highest tier membership they offer. Apparently, Santa Clarita is now a "Signature" club and I need a "Combat" membership to take the class. Combat? It's HIIT and Body Pump. As an 8-year USMC veteran with three deployments to Iraq, I can confidently say there's nothing "combat" about lunges and barbell curls. Unless we're fighting over floor space in that small, overcrowded group fitness room. And "Signature"? Let's talk about that. No towels. No sauna. No steam room. No pool. No hot tub. Just... a regular gym. If this is "signature," I'd hate to see standard. What really raised my eyebrow was the price tag. The "Combat" membership is apparently another $45 on top of the $29.99 I already pay for Peak Results. That's a pretty steep upcharge for access to classes I've been attending for years. Here's where it gets even more confusing: The Crunch website does not list Santa Clarita as a "Signature" club. The "Combat" membership isn't clearly listed as an option online. Peak Results is advertised as multi-club access (excluding signature clubs), yet I've been entering this location for years without issue. So which is it? Either it's not actually a Signature club, or it conveniently became one when it was time to upsell. The whole thing feels less like fitness and more like a car dealership finance office. "Oh, you wanted that class? That'll be another $45." For new members: read the fine print. Ask very specific questions. If you're signing up for Peak Results expecting access to classes, be prepared for a possible surprise at the counter. At this price point, there are other gyms in the area offering far better amenities without the bait-and-switch vibe. Disappointing, to say the least.

Shortly after I was going through medical issues so stopped going and let my account go delinquent. I received numerous emails from Patty GM from crunch. Which I have attached as proof. Anyways called and spoke to Trent (it wasn't easy getting ahold of him and he's apparently the only one that can help) explained my situation also mentioned the numerous emails I've received. He said those were automated and I still had to cover the past due although I haven't been going and my membership has been on pause. Again I explained the emails say to make a one time month payment and everything would be waived. Seems like he's not going to honor it. He was quick to get me off the phone although I was email him the screenshots. This specific gym has always been a pain. It's dirty and everything is always broken. HONOR THE AUTOMATED EMAILS OR CHANGE THEM cause this can easily turn into a lawsuit. Now I have to wait for him to call me back to which by the sounds of it he wasn't going to honor the email. Dishonest gym and management. ***Also the comment from Scarlet below is an automated message. There's zero way to private message them or the business. And Trent responded. I requested to cancel my membership and he didn't want to. Stated he'd rule this up to the district manager. DONT SIGN UP HERE

You hear about things like this happening but it's crazy to see! Update! Aaron let me know that they charged me from back in April when I initially tried to cancel and refuted payment. Note that their own front desk employee advised me to refute the charges because the company would more than likely continue to charge me indefinitely. Aaron also added a cute little threat that they should also charge me for next month since we're supposed to give 30 days notice to cancel!! I guess all those emails and voicemails I left in April requesting to cancel don't count?

I joined Crunch specifically for the Downtown Long Beach location about a month ago, which was…read moreperfect for me because I could walk there in the evenings (I don't have access to my car at night). Now that location is closing August 31, I'm being forced to join a different gym. When I tried to cancel, I was told I'd have to pay $90 (annual fee + next month's dues) even though the closure or cancelation isn't my choice. It took multiple attempts to speak with a manager, and I was told that since I signed up online, there was nothing they could do. On top of that, there's no corporate phone or email, everything is handled at the local level, which makes resolving issues frustrating. So now I'm $90 down for a gym I can't use, and I'll have to pay more to join a new one. The gym itself is okay but nothing special. If it's your only option, it's usable, but if you have a choice, it's not worth the price, the cancellation policies, or the customer service headache.
