However, her staff called me immediately that I owed about $7-$8 for a snack and toy after my debit card was lost and the charge didn't process. By then, I was owed over $1000 in special needs recreational funding that this school would not process, but they gave me one day to pay when the debit card was reported lost, and the $7-$8 didn't go through. This is a true story-and even the staff member seemed uncomfortable saying I had to pay when she knew I was owed a lot of money in funding due to their failures. Then, months later, another staff member offered me one month of free tuition for all of our trouble due to the discrepancies in the financials and my constant attempts to get ahold of someone. Then, get this- they came back and reneged on the free tuition and demanded the one month of tuition and said I must pay it. I said you offered me one free month's tuition, and I am now about $1100 in funding that is missing due to your own failures to file. They wouldn't even upload a simple tax document (very telling) for 8 months, until Aveanna's (a 3rd-party) finance department conducted another investigation with a higher-up in the claims department. Even then, they still never bothered to upload the rest of the financials. Then they BANNED my autistic 7-year-old from swim lessons because I didn't pay the one month that they offered for free, then reneged without notice, when I was owed at least $1100 in funding and was now chasing a 3rd party to investigate their financial claims when they refused to respond to me and to my caseworker. My RC caseworker, who supports children with special needs, told me he can't keep calling them to no avail. He had numerous other special-needs clients to contact and really tried to support us. But as soon as I write a bad review on Yelp, Leslie comes running. Had she made ANY attempt to contact me and express remorse over how things went down (even if I never get paid back, just say sorry or acknowledge what happened-some communication from her), this review never would have been posted. I didn't know this woman existed until this review hit; now she's accessible. My autistic child is STILL BANNED from this swim school for me not paying one month's tuition that was offered for free after I was in the hole of maybe $1100 plus in lost funding. I had to explain to her why she can't go, and she cried thinking she did something wrong while I waited for another swim school's waiting list for special needs clients to open. Thanks! This is literally the only negative review I've ever written.

The amount of lanes were you able to get your lane if you wanted to do laps. Had multiple lifeguards onduty on top of safety and the place was clean. I will say the bathrooms could've been better, but overall the rest is really good. They had pool toys for you to use and my son really loved the water basketball hoop. It was also pretty neat that you can bring your own food or order your food for delivery. Four dollars per person is a great price! They also have summer movie nights and Sunday evenings with the inflatable pool jumper which I thought was pretty cool. Definitely plan to come back .

He did not learn or retain much from those sessions, between his fear of putting his face in the water, inability to keep warm (a neoprene shorty was still too cold in the summer) and short attention span. When I signed up for Connect the dots l picked lessons at midday to ensure it was warm enough for him. The main difference I noticed was that lessons were very focused. There were learning goals to be met each day, and most of the time it was exciting and fun but sometimes the kids reach an area outside of their comfort zone and the teachers at connect the dots don't back off. They firmly but gently keep working on it. That's why these 1-on-1 lessons cost more. My son had McKenna, the new lady teacher and he did well. Not a tear in the end but of course, if we don't keep practicing he will forget what he learned. Other things that will help your child to maximize learning at these lessons (not requirement but helps) -Sufficient upper body strength to push/lift themselves out of edge of pool -Able to understand/follow instruction in English -Able to handle being in and out of water in outdoor environment for 25 mins (my son needed neoprene suit and midday lessons) -Ability to coordinate limbs I watched a 6 year old learn to thread water, and swim the length of the pool (12 feet?) and he came in with some fear of water like my son.

She also didn't provide any insight as a first timer. I understand there's only so much you can do in 30-minutes but it seemed very basic, something I could simply do myself. I also noticed she kept looking at the clock and at some point a male instructor came and he seemed to be more experienced. At the end, no one even asked how our experience was and if we were interested in any packages. Not to mention, the facility wasn't as clean as I hoped it would be. The water was murky, the changing rooms were dirty with black water marks on the bench. They only had 1 blow drawer and nothing to put wet swim suits in. The windows all had hard water stains so you can tell they didn't clean them appropriately. I wouldn't recommend walking barefoot in this place.

I am moving my office to Westwood so it is no longer practical to come here in the mornings on my way to work as they do not open until 6am. If they opened at 5am I could stay but that extra hour just does not equate to a doable commute. I just updated my review to 4-stars as the Y has finally responded to some of our complaints. They have corrected the issues causing us grief and seem to have staff here now that are receptive to the members requests. This is a welcome change; so in response I have updated my rating. And thank you for finally removing the locks on the windows so 1) we can get out in an emergency; and 2) too bad we had to endure sweltering Summer with no ability to open them. Now that it is Winter, it's not much help, but nonetheless it is noticed that you all finally responded to the members request.

It is a very nice building with a 5 lane overflow pool, a cooldown/special purposes pool, and a small extension of the main pool. The accoustics here are beyond painful though. I recently went to a swim meet here, and it must have pushed 120 decibels inside with the little girls piercing screams and the sound bouncing off of the non baffled walls. They really need to put some kind of sound absorption system or ceiling hanging pylons in this facility because the sound level is beyond real. I witnessed several elderly people covering their ears at times, and I myself, had to step out from time to time. Great programs I'm sure, but for swim meets, please, be warned and maybe take precautions.
