He is creepy and rude to say the least. I spoke with the owner about him and though he was kinder he was general dismissive. Things are perfect now at my new storage unit. I drove down to Charlottesville on Saturday to move things out of my mom's old house into storage. We arrived to the storage site with a truck full of stuff. No one was around at the office but there was a sign to call a # if you needed help. So we did that and within 5 mins the manager came cruising a long on this golf cart. He got us checked in, gave me the lock and key, and lead us to the unit. The unit was clean and easy to access. The door is easy to open as well as the lock. They also give you a personal security code for the gate (to get in and out). We moved another truck load of stuff that afternoon. They said they do not have flooding in that area (unlike other storage unit places in Charlottesville) so that's good. They have also been around for almost 12 years and I got 2 positive references from other people which is why I chose to go here. They are also the same price as most other places and not the most expensive. I am paying $80 a month for my 5 x 10 unit. I chose not to get climate controlled (more expensive) + they were already sold out. The manager guy who I worked with over the phone was always quick to call me back and helpful. The only thing is that he talks real fast, I mean REAL FAST and you can't really understand anything he is saying even when sitting across from him in his office. I just nodded my head acting like I knew what was going on, but really I had no clue! He knows what he's doing though as he's been working there for over 11 years. My favorite thing about the place is it's isolation feeling from the rest of the sitting. It's very green in that area - lots of trees and tons of birds chirping away. It was a peaceful setting moving all that stuff.

Everything big was wrapped up nicely in plastic wrap and blankets to make sure nothing gets harmed while in transit.They moved through tight corners and stairs easily. The crew was efficient and effective while also being respectful and considerate throughout the day. The owner even debated with me over some of the damage as the crew member denied it. We felt that they use nice polite workers that appear to work hard. However, there was no crew leader and it was a free for all loading and unloading our belongings. We had everything packed and marked as to where it should be placed in the new home, it just didn't happen 50% of the time unless we were on top of them constantly. Young guys that seem to have this as a way to make a living and no skin in the game, so to speak. I was told I would have four men. I had only two men. They did not have the man power to move my furniture. My dinet table was rolled on its side. The table put a large gouge in my hard wood floor. I was told they don't pay to get that fixed. I am still finding pieces that are damaged. I never complain so this is new to me. They contracted the move out to another company and failed to even tell me. My furniture was dropped, rolled and dresser drawers dropped in the yard. I can't even touch the surface of how bad. Please stay far away from this company. I used them years ago. I was told they are under new management now. I wish I did more checking. What a disappointment.

As I recall, initially the number I called for BRM went to someone else who told me they were getting my info to the right person. Darryck contacted me shortly after and needed to inform me when he could do the job based on another larger move customer the same week we needed. By the end of the next day he had locked me in to the next Wednesday, which was perfect for us. After talking to Darryck more and asking why he doesn't have any online presence on Google and Yelp for that matter, I found out that he has recently purchased the business from a former employer and is having a hard time getting these online listing services to allow him to set up the business under new ownership with the same business name. Also, the Facebook representation had no posts since June 2022, so at first, I was dubious. Well, Darryck is apparently focusing on providing good work more than online presence. He was great on communications. Answers his phone, texts and emails in reasonable time for a man physically doing the work. He was the only mover who sent me a quote on letterhead as a .pdf. He and his partner worked as if THEY were paying for my move. They really hustled, in a good way, I wasnt concerned about the cargo due to them working so fast. He charged their time from the moment they arrived and began working to the last box landing at the other end. Very reasonable and came in at a fraction of his estimate for his final bill. Note: We were very prepared with very little to disassemble and almost everything boxed, staged and ready to go. It was a small move and they knocked it out like it was nothing. The better YOU prepare, the less expensive your move will be. These guys work HARD by the hour. Anything you can do to make their job easier, simply saves you money. The less you leave them to do, the less your cost is going to be.

The 2-man crew that came was a few minutes late because of a crash in the tunnel they had to come through but they texted ahead that they would be a bit late to keep me posted. They arrived about 15 minutes later than the scheduled time and quickly loaded the 30 heavy bags of yard debris that I needed removed. The guys were friendly and cheerful and were on their way after only a few moments. Totally happy with the experience and highly recommend their service.
