I visited Pro Nails Spa on Clifton Blvd. for the first time in late October 2024. I was in a rush because I came during my lunch break so I needed to be back at work in time. I came for a regular (basic) manicure which took a little over an hour. I got a pink non-gel nail polish. It cost $27. My nails were done reasonably well but some parts of my nails could have been cleaned better (some little bits of loose skin on the sides of my nails were left behind). My cuticles were taken care of well. The painting of my nails were done well and a clear polish was added at the end. Overall, this is a solid nail salon that is affordable (average cost) and efficient (quick). I came looking for a gel removal and manicure. The service started fine until she began applying color. The white was clumpy and left bubbles. She applied the blue haphazardly and poorly cleaned it up with acetone on a brush, which dried my fingers. Another customer came in and she began to rush even more to finish the service. I wish she would have told me at the beginning that she isn't able to do artistry on nails. A second nail tech had to come assist with the "hearts" and it wasn't much better. Got a medi/pedi on 6/15/24 with gel polish so why is it chipping on 6/19? Gel has ALWAYS lasted till it's soaked off. had the worst experience of my life this past Saturday. I've truly never had a great experience here, but sometimes I'll pop in when I'm in a jam. I went in this past Sat to get a pedicure before a wedding I had to attend. BIG MISTAKE! The lady who did my pedicure was a shorter older lady and the whole pedicure was just very careless. The dye from the bowl had stained my foot which I was concerned about as I had to attend a wedding that evening. So she told me not to worry. She proceeded to scrub the top of my foot and leg with the pumice stone that is used to scrub callus' off the bottom of your feet. Definitely NOT supposed to be used on that part of your foot. It physically hurt. I felt like I had tiny little cuts all over the top of my foot. For some reason I allowed her to continue the pedicure. Again, very careless. Pulling my foot towards her, barely touching the nail polish brush to my toe nails, etc. I was visibly upset but no one, including the owner, seemed to care. I was charged $65. When I returned to my apartment, I started breaking out in a rash with hives. I called the owner to tell him how upset I was . He told me the only way he'd do anything was if I came back and showed him. I told him that wasn't an option because I needed to get to a wedding but I'd send over photos. He said he wasn't interested in a Photo and refused to refund my money. The rash has continued into today and is painful and itchy. I'm concerned I will get an infection now and the owner was absolutely not concerned or apologetic at all. This place is awful! I would never recommend anyone to come here. Threatened to kick me out if I did not leave my feet in the water, gave me the wrong color polish and threw the hottest towel of all times on my legs after the 10 second massage and began laughing immediately after doing so. They just were not caring at all and charged 60$ for terrible service and 1st degree burns. I'll never go here again after today no matter how bad I want a service done. I've had my nails done here before as well and don't even get me started on how bad they drilled my real nails down and laid all the acrylic on so thick my nails looked like turtle shells were placed on top. Was searching for a nail salon near me and made the mistake of coming here. I called to make an appointment, but the owner said they only take walk-ins. After coming in, they were completely packed. I wrote my name down and waited about an hour. No one approached me to tell me how long, no one greeted me either. The owner, also working on nails, answered every phone call on speaker. There were only TWO other employees working. After one of the employees came to the desk to call the next person, they called the person who came thirty minutes after me. I told them I was there for an hour, and they said the owner crossed my name out, acting as if I've been taken care of. I got my nails done by one of the employees and my nails were not it. I gave a larger tip because I felt bad for her being overworked, but my nails literally chipped the same day. The gel didn't even reach the tip of my nail to protect it from chipping, nor was there gel on the sides of my nails. I've been a loyal customer here for quite some time, and after the appalling treatment I received today by Chris, the owner, I will not return. I have never been treated with such rudeness and disrespect by a business owner, and Chris's attitude is in part the reason his business has such terrible reviews. Upon arriving at the salon for my appointment, I was told that my usual nail tech had car issues and couldn't make it. Chris, after a wait, did my nails instead. Among other things, Chris proceeded to rush through the process and cut me twice with zero apology. As shown in the attached photograph, Chris aggressively and sloppily cut my thumbnail in such a way that the edge is completely jagged, and the root of the nail is cutting into my skin. I expressed my concern, and instead of apologizing, Chris proceeded to berate me for how "picky" I am and yelled that he will "never do my nails again." I calmly responded that I did not understand his reaction, and he continued to yell nonsensically as his employees sat there with their heads lowered, some shaking their heads. I walked out of the salon as he continued to yell. I will say that Kent and Betty have done an exceptional job on my dip manicures in the past, and this review has nothing to do with either of them. read more

Worst experience I've had. I got my nails done the other day and already lost 3 nails. There was no clean up at all of my nails they just through polish on and not even a double layer just 1 of the dip. I called they said all they would do is fix the nails that fell off. BEWARE ........ Went to Pro Spa nails on the 6/6/18 and got a pedicure by a woman name Christan or Christiana and had to go to the hospital on the 6/8/18 due to toe pain. I got acute paronychia due to her aggressively pushing my toe nail down with her tools. Luckily the doctors said I caught it in time and antibiotics and soaks should help. If this does not work then I will have to get surgery to drain it. I went to speak with her privately outside the salon on 6/9/18 because I didn't want her to lose business for what I thought could've just been a harmless mistake. As soon as I told her what happened she proceed to get loud and offended brought the manager back there because she thought I was serving her with papers to sue but I was just showing her the print out my doctor gave me so I can show her how real this situation was and how severe it could have gotten. She said it has never happened before when she has did other people toes and I proceed to tell her that it's a first time for everything that's why I am here. She had no compassion or remorse for what she did. Then said that she never did my feet just a polish change. When a polish change is $10 but I paid $28 dollars for a pedicure. Then she said that I went somewhere else got a pedicure then came there and got my toes painted. Do you know how dumb this sounds? When I showed my bank statements on the date I came in and when the manager chimed in and said he remembers me coming in for a pedicure Wednesday, then she said she did do my toes but because I didn't say anything that's my fault. When the doctors because THREE of them took a look at my foot they said whoever did my toes was pushing down way to hard they can tell from the impact it caused on my toenail, that it opened up a wound and it caused an infection to get inside. My doctor said her tools could have been dirty also. All I wanted to hear was "Sorry I didn't know I did that" but she proceed to say she doesn't make mistakes like that and she doesn't care. Anyone who has ever gotten their nails or toes done can contest to a person doing there nails aggressive or nipping their cuticles with their tools at least one time in there life. But for you to say you've never made a mistake doing nails means you've done it before and I'm just the first person who has went to the hospital because of it. Google it and be careful. I wasn't going to post because I thought I could talk it out with her and she would be a little remorseful and compassionate and I can move on and never go back there. I'm posting because I would hate for this to happen to someone else now I'm terrified of pedicures now because of what happened to me going to this shop. People think it's okay to do fucked up things to people, and laugh about like karma doesn't exist. It may not get you now but when it do, it's going to be ten times worse then what you did to me. My appointment started with me walking in and getting assigned to a pedicure chair. Station 8. I did not see the numbers on the chairs they were close to the ground way below eye level. I asked where chair 8 was and the manager Chris responded rudely "next to 7." I'm not stupid I didn't see the numbers. The woman who did the pedi was very thorough and did a fine job. She was very forceful in getting me to do my nails too. I acquiesced and sat with Chris. He failed to change his gloves between the lady before me and I. He burner me with the dremel on 4 separate occasions. His work is substandard, I have sizable gaps between the acrylic and my cuticle. My actual nail sticks out on corners. Yet he was very egotistical when bragging unprompted about his over 20 years experience. He is not a conversationalist I tried to make small talk and he ignored my attempts to be friendly. Literally had no response to my gentle banter. I was uncomfortable and felt unwelcome. Regardless I tipped over 20% but I will not be returning. There are no discounts for a mani pedi combo. The upcharges on every little extra are staggering. $15 more for gel and $20 more on UV. $15 more for French tips. A pretty awkward experience. I paid $94 with tip for my services today. read more

I have been struggling to find nail salons in Cleveland that do the powder dip manicures. I gave Pro Nails a shot and will not be returning. There was no base powder applied, 2 layers of color and then a top layer of gel polish. You can still see my nail underneath the color and the gel top coat is chipping off already. Not to mention my "manicure" consisted of about 2 minutes of him cutting off cuticles. My friend and I went at the same time and were done in 30 minutes (he worked on both of us at the same time) I paid $50 for this manicure, whereas I have gone elsewhere and paid $40 which included a base layer of powder, 2 of color and a top of powder, as well as a full manicure with oil to finish. I was so excited when an affordable nail salon moved into my neighborhood so I took advantage of their 20% off promotion and visited during it's first month open. They were extremely busy and I had to wait, which I had no problem with. Who wouldn't take advantage of such a good deal? When it was finally my turn, the manager, Chris, gave me a gel manicure and it was great! He was hilarious and very welcoming--I had a wonderful experience and could not wait to return. I went back over a month later and unfortunately had quite the opposite experience. My nail technician was nice but not attentive. While she was working on my nails I had to ask her three times to fix things that I was not happy with. She did so happily, but I could have gone on and decided not to waste my energy on it. Some of my nails are square, some are rounded, and most are lopsided and uneven. Today is the 7th day that I have had my gel manicure and two of my nails have already chipped (the gel I had previous to this had lasted three weeks with no chips). I got the manicure last minute for a baby shower and did not have time to return to the salon. At this point, I would rather eat the cost and go to a more reputable salon to get my nails fixed. Called for a dip manicure. Told to come in I'd be taken right away. I allowed 2 HOURS for an appointment. Was offered an unfamiliar color palette to choose from. Should have known better and left just then because the colors were different(like a generic off brand) so when I questioned what the differences in abbreviations were, as once I ended up and chose a "mermaid" color that cost $25 extra, he snapped back don't worry about it just pick color. He grabbed my dip colors, wrapped my nails to remove the old polish and moved me up to the front of the shop and proceeded to take a full set client. A manicurist finished her client and ask me if I was next and started to check my nails so I said I guess. All of a sudden the guy starts screaming at me about how I always do this and how I always try to rush them. So then I said I'm not really sure why you are yelling at me but I'm just asking what time I can be finished by. He continued to scream at me and told the woman not to bother with me and to take another customer. I ended up leaving with my nails wrapped in foil. The entire walk of shame out he was still hooting and hollering. As a paying customer to a walk in salon I don't think it is too much to ask to have an anticipated time you will be finished. My nail salon takes an hour for a dip manicure, pretty sure I wasn't trying to rush anyone. I've just never been asked to sit and wait while my nail tech does a full set while it takes a few min to soak off the old dip. I hadn't stepped foot in this salon in years. So a word like always is a stretch. But okay. Yes, I work I have a life and you ALWAYS say come in and we will take you and then you ALWAYS keep people waiting.
