I have been using Pro Autoworks since 2011 when I needed my turn signal fixed. The Buick dealer in Gurnee told me that they'd want to tear up the steering column to see what's going on and to diagnose, minimum $350 job. I brought my car to Pro Autoworks on a friends referral and my "$350 minimum fix" was done for something like $67. I''m on my sixth car since then, and Pro Autoworks has worked extensively on each one in between. These guys have performed service on my entire family's fleet. They've replaced motors, worked on transmissions, replaced brake systems, fixed climate system, jeez, more than I can remember. Every time a major repair is needed, they work with us to get the most economical option if needed. Be it getting aftermarket or used parts that are identical and of the same quality to OEM or just being honest about what may be unnecessary/non-urgent service, they're true professionals that want to help get you driving. Cannot recommend Pro Autoworks highly enough. I trust them 100% with my car's maintenance. read more

Highly recommended by my daughter and after service I completely agree took my 2008 jeep patriot in the dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree I thought it was a sensor from what I gather from Google and it was a sensor and a wheel bearing They gave me a loaner they repaired it in the same day and it was reasonable and I couldn't be more pleased highly would recommend them to anybody read more

Ok, So I came over to Pro Autoworks after dealing with a repair shop in the area, after they had informed me I would need to replace a "bad tie rod" ... and then given an estimate of $85 for the part and $45 for the labor . I was also told that I would need to have an alignment ($109) after it was installed! So I purchased my own part at AutoZone where else .. for $25. Headed over to Pro Autoworks and had it installed for $40 ... I was given a break on the price by "Owen" the owner of the establishment who was genuinely a nice guy, even though the nature of my alternative lifestyle seemed to throw him off a bit .. he still played nice and kept his word of having it ready by noon. I would go back to Owen for any future repairs I may need in the future. The only thing that kept me from giving him Five Stars is that it was a simple part replacement, so it didn't seem a true test. read more

I recently had my starter replaced and I felt I should let everyone know how pleased I am with the excellent service I received. I normally do my own repairs, but this particular job required a professional with a lift. My starter motor was completely shot, so I needed to have my car towed out of my driveway. I called Pro Autoworks and they had a truck at my house in about 20 minutes. Glenn called me that evening, after he assessed the repair, and gave me a very reasonable quote and an estimated time of when I could expect the repair to be completed. When the job was done, they stuck to the original quote and got the job done on time. I was blown away. To be honest, I was very apprehensive about taking my car to an unknown mechanic, but after this great experience, I know who to take it to when I'm in a pinch. Glenn and the others in the shop have worked on several of my vehicles, and I've been pleased with them and their service. He has always been honest with me and made conscious efforts to keep the prices reasonable. He helped me keep my 87 pickup truck running well over 200K, and was honest in his assessments of the repairs that were necessary vs. optional (something dealerships don't do). I felt the prices were fair and the work was done well. I have referred several friends to him, and they've been satisfied with the work done here. What a shame to have to revise my review. I stand by what I've said but sadly Pro Auto employs a man named Brad who can only be described as terse. I overlooked it because other factors seemed to justify it. Brad's response to hearing of a mechanic (maybe him?) smoking in one of the vehicles in my family was so rude. Not the response I would have expected from a company who valued long-time customers. Proceed with caution. read more

I am apalled at the disrespectfull customer service for this place. My husband and I have been customers there for over 6 years. My emissions light was on and I have to renew my registration by the end of the month. I was told to set an appointment (which I always do) and it would be about an hour. My husband dropped me off the day of the appointment and asked for an oil change for his truck, they said yes, so 3 hours later I hadnt heard from them, i called and they told me they hadnt even looked at it, I had to pick up my car to go to a wedding.They said they were to busy to work on it even though I had an appointment, I wasted the whole day! Yes my husband got his oil changed, Today was my only day to take the car to emmissions, it didnt pass , I went back to pro auto to schedule an appointment to fix the problem and got TOTAL attitude from the guy behind the counter. He told me he didnt have time to talk to me to set an appointment and when they did test it it would be 2 WHOLE days of them having the car !!! What happened to caring about your customers?
