I am so glad I called them! They were fast and charged what they quoted me. I had to schedule an appointment about a week ahead. I dropped the car at 8am and called me to pick it up at 9:45am. They were very efficient and friendly. Another garage was able to do the repair earlier but they quoted me more than twice (!) the price of this place. Fair prices. It i could give less then one star i would. On thursday night by car broke down on Broadway in hastings as i was taking my kids on vacation for the weekend...as we were already in a hurry and had been stranded on the side of the road for an hour (with a 3 month old...one year old and two tweens) we decided it best to be towed to nearest mechanic and to just get a ride to get our other vehicle so we could still enjoy our trip. Hastings pro auto was the closest shop.so we had it towed to them.they didn't have time to look at it the same day 'which was fine as it was close to end of business hours and the weekend so i understood...we made it clear we were going to have vehicle fixed no matter the diagnoses and we had money on hand to fix it so please get to it as soon as possible'-which they did....i got a call this morning saying i had a bad starter (which my husband being an army mechanic himself had already guessed and told them) and that it would be 257 to fix.ok great get her done let us know when we can pick it up.receievd another phone call this afternoon the lady receptionist told us the van was done and it would be 357...my husband asked why the price changed and they swore up and down it hadnt and the part alone was 220.ok fine....but me ..being stubborn and hate to get taken advantage of decided to call napa where they got my part.napa told me my part was only 140 (80 dollars less!) with a 20 something core charge.when i asked the mechanic and the receptionist why they charged me 220 something for a part that only cost 140 they told me thats what they do.everything comes w inflation and compared it to me going to walmart and asking for at cost.um no!!! I have never ever had a mechanic charge me 80 more bucks then they paid for a part.the same part i could of walked in and got myself .when i asked them why they said price to use our tools their expensive....then she told me i obviously didnt know how much tools cost..so i responded yes i do my husband was a mechanic in the army...she told me well maybe your husband should of fixed it for you then....so basicly i was charged 357 today.....140 something was the part cost....80 something for labor and another 80 to "use their tools" 25 for the diagnostic .but they were shady as fuck and wrote it as part cost 220 (obviously that's a lie and they admitted it, do not go here.they will rip you off and when you try and talk to them about it they will be condenseding and tell you too bad everything has inflation and that's what pays the bills and their was nothing i could do because they "have an excellent reputation"as if no one would believe me! Never have i ever been treated so rudely or ripped off so bad.ive contacted the BBB and will not be silenced until i see some changes. read more
