RUN!!! RUN FAST!!!
Speaking as someone who has worked in the ambulance business for 7years I can honestly report that after my experience with this company today, I WILL REFUSE TRANSPORT FROM THIS COMPANY EVERY DAY ALL DAY! NEVER WILL I USE THEM AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today my mother was to be transported from ICU at hospital #1 to hospital #2 as she is now stable enough for transport. .
She had spent days in the hospital and today was the first day she started to understand what was happening to her, as she had been very confused the last 2 days and thought she was dying.
So today PRNs RN crew shows up to pick up my mom. Immediately the RN asks if he'll need to restrain her. I told him that if I am with her he will not need to restrain her as I can understand her and she can understand me and I'm more than willing to help assist with anything they need.
He insisted I could not be back with her as it would interfere with his job (okay simmer down little man, my mom is being transported to another hospital because clearly she is stable so it's not like you're gonna have to perform any life saving skills other than taking a few BPs en route which you have a monitor for), oh and it's supposedly not his company policy.
Now I know this to be a lie because it is thoroughly up to the crews discretion if they will allow someone to sit in back with their family member. I even spoke to the manager who confirmed that is their policy.
That being said, I don't know if the RN just had little mans complex or what but he insisted he would rather restrain than let me help.
So let me just say I refused transport and sent little man away as I was not going to put my mother's care in the hands of a nurse with zero compassion and a complete lack of patient care (which by the way should be priority.)
Even the nurse caring for my mother could not understand his refusal and explained I had been of great help. Thank god the charge nurse even called this company to complain about his lack of professionalism and attitude problem.
After reading the bio on this company just now I had to laugh at the cute set of words all compiled to look professional, Innovative and caring; all of which are clearly lies!!! ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!
So to anyone looking at using this company, RUN! REFUSE TRANSPORT! INSIST ON ANOTHER TRANSPORT COMPANY! DO WHAT EVER YOU CAN to avoid putting your loved ones in the care of people who clearly don't care!!!
I FOR ONE WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE I KNOW HEARS WHY!!!
RUN! RUN! RUN!! DO NOT USE!!!!!
Needless to say, Thankfully the hospital understood and called a completely different transport company. Let me just say the company was very professional, kind, caring and compassionate with an emphasis on patient care. They allowed, even encouraged me to ride with my mom as they felt I could be of help to the patient. The transport was wonderful and without any agitation at all.
The point I'm trying to make is clearly there are people and companies who do care, unfortunately PRN and its RN is not one of them!!! read more
