I invested over $5,000 in less than eight weeks on extensions and required maintenance at this salon. The initial purchase and installation totaled $4,000. I was also advised that weekly $150 blowouts were necessary to properly "maintain my investment," which I followed consistently. The issues began immediately after a mini move-up performed by Lizzy. While still in the salon, my scalp began severely itching. During my blowout, I had to stop the stylist multiple times due to the intensity of the irritation. Within three days, the row shifted and began falling out. This progressed into pain and visible shedding directly along the rows. When I first reached out, I simply asked to have the row reinstalled. I did not accuse anyone or demand a refund. If I believed I had caused the issue, I would have gladly paid to have it corrected. Instead, I was told it may have been caused by pulling or possibly a health issue. At the same time, I was advised to remove the extensions myself using pliers while experiencing pain and hair loss. These explanations conflicted with the fact that symptoms began immediately following the service. The only reason I trimmed a small exposed portion of weft while traveling was because the row had already shifted and was visibly unraveling after the move-up. In a later conversation, it was acknowledged that the situation was not handled professionally. I was told an owner would contact me to discuss it further, but I did not receive that follow-up. My hair came out with blonde highlights that are chunky in the back. Not natural or chocolate, I also was given a beginner level 1 stylist without being asked if that was okay. I was there for 5 hours which I thought was really weird, I honestly think she forgot about me and left the toner in my hair way to long which is why it came out so light. I talked to management to fix the issue but I could not get an appointment within their "10 day window policy" to fix. They wanted me to use vacation time for them to fix my hair!? Scheduled a cut and color. Waited for 30 mins after my color to get a cut, and was told repeatedly that it would be my turn for a haircut in 5 mins. After another 30 mins, I went to the restroom. As I was washing my hands, I looked in the mirror and saw I had color stain along the side of my face and a gray hair was sticking out in the middle of the mess. I mentioned it and was told the assistant didn't do her job well. So, the stylist started scrubbing my head in a sitting waiting area and told me she would sue the hairs that didn't take to the initial eye. She said she was done, so I checked, again, and she missed a side of my face that had dye all over it. I showed it to her, and she said she could get that spot, too. I asked her if she was new, and she said she'd been here 8 years. I then explained that this was really bad, she agreed, and said the assistant didn't do her job. Confused, I asked if I was expected to pay for this service. I was told I couldn't speak with a manager but they stylist would call her. Weird. I can't speak for the actual services provided here because I didn't even get that far, but what I can say is this salon either needs to be more diligent about time management as a whole or need to be more strict with their stylists/clients going over time. I'm sure it won't be the end of the world to them, but it's unfortunate that they've lost a customer before I could even have a single session. STRAP IN because this review is a long one. I am on the hunt for an excellent hair stylist to install hand-tied extensions to my hair. I've been looking for 3 months, and have attended multiple consultations. I've received quotes anywhere from 1.2k-2.5k up until this point. The previous stylists weren't good fits for my schedule, so I booked a consultation with a blowout with the only stylist recommended to me at Privé by Privé. I called to book this blowout for my best friend and I as a treat for helping me move. We were assured *twice* on the phone that the blowouts were $45 (which are a little on the expensive side IMO). We get to the salon, and it's gorgeous. There is no doubt that this is one of the most beautiful salons I've ever seen. We were promptly seen by our two stylists and my stylist immediately got to the consult. We discussed what I was looking for, my lifestyle, and that was it. She immediately recommended that I color my hair with a balayage treatment in order to "decrease the health of my hair" so I would get more volume at the roots. She went to get a quote form for me and we went to go get washed. There are separate assistants who wash hair, so they chatted with us and gave an excellent scalp massage. We went back to the chairs to get blown out and I was greeted with my quote form for.... F I V E T H O U S A N D D O L L A R S. Maybe I'm not too familiar with "big city prices" but that seemed completely out of the range of possibilities. She continued blow drying my hair while I was asking questions about her experience. About 90% through my blowout she looks at my roots and sees that the assistant left conditioner in my roots. I then needed to go back to the bowl to get rewashed. The original assistant was berated (quietly) in front of me for leaving conditioner in my hair and it was *awkward*. Finally she finished my blowout and while my friend received volume at her roots (using Velcro rollers), I received none even despite me saying that it was very important to me. We go to pay and are informed that the blowouts are $65 and not $45 as we were quoted on the phone. No discount for two washes on my hair + additional heat damage from blow drying twice. No discount for the apparent miscommunication on the phone. We were given a coupon for $20 off of $75 in the future which I'm assuming can only mean a haircut which must start at at least $100. There is no way that I would recommend anyone come to this salon for any reason except to light money on fire and watch it burn. All while having hair that you didn't ask for. read more

I have never had a bad cut or color here. I feel like a million bucks after coming here every time. They serve you lemon water if you want and give head massages during your shampoo. I've had a lot of different people do my hair here and been happy with them all. I would trust them to do anything major like completely change your style, cut or drastic color. I highly recommend this place if you enjoy having your appointments requested all time time, gaslighting colorists, 7+ hours in uncomfortable chairs, and still leaving the salon with splotchy hair. At least with all the reschedulings I would still have good looking hair at the end of the day, but if I am getting rescheduled and leaving with hair I can't stand to look at, I'm done. They only have one good colorist, Joanie. The others are clueless and doesn't communicate/listen to you or say they talked to Joanie, when clearly they didn't. This time I was getting my big maintenance appointment, they put me with Roxy after rescheduling my OG appointment and no one else was available. I wanted my ombré to be moved up to no higher than my eyes and don't color my roots or grays. I couldn't tell how far up she was going with the bleach due to my angle, but as it turns out, she brought it up in some place within an inch of my scalp. When it was time to add the gloss, it was supposed to be done dry, but they insisted it was wet 'they cleared it through Joanie' and it wasn't Roxy who added the color, it was the assistant. While I was getting my ends colored, guess what they did, color my roots for a center part! After I finished processing and they washed my hair, I went to go sit for a hair cut, upon him going through my hair, found there were many blonde spots, splotchy patches, and this is when I found out how high she did make it in my hair. He finishes the preliminary cut on my hair and off to the washing bowl again I go. This time they have the senior assistant color my hair and then they color more of my roots and grays to try bringing the purple down all over my head. They wash my hair again, I go to get my hair dried. This is when I was informed that I was right about the color always applied dry by Joanie, so doesn't seem that anyone talked to her at all. Then low and behold, as one of the assistants is drying my hair and we find blonde/lavender pieces of hair that was missed in the first and second processes. Back to the washing bowl for the third time, this time it was more of spot coloring processing instead of the whole thing. They wash my hair once more, and back to the hair dryer I go again. Wet hair all looks the same, especially when it's dark, so as they are drying my hair, I'm noticing chunks of my hair is a completely different shade from the rest of my hair. I have been at this salon for 7+ hours, the stylist said that they can try correcting the hair again and that it's because of my gray hair. I have gray hair strands, not chunks of gray, that wasn't the cause, but that's what she and 'Joanie' decided even though, Joanie hadn't seen my hair at all! After so long and so many recolorings, I did not want to risk a 4th with Roxy at all. I got my hair dried, hair detailed, tied up my hair since I couldn't stand to look at it anymore, paid, and left. Even this morning, I'm looking in the mirror and still can see where the front part of my hair is off color, parts of my hair looks like it wasn't recolored at all, and the coloring is still too high. I have never been so disappointed in a salon! I scheduled my appointment 3 months in advance for both a curly cut and color. One week before the appointment I even went physically in person to confirm the appointment and meet the stylist. Leading up to the appointment I received several follow up and confirmation texts. Finally on the day of when I arrived to my appointment I was told they made a mistake booking my color first and cut after so I had to reschedule my haircut to a different day and could only do my color today (1 of the 2 services not even with the stylist I had met the week before). How could this happen amidst so many confirmations ?! I initially overlooked this, sometimes mistakes happen, right ? So I allow the new stylist to proceed with just the color service. Three hours into coloring my hair the the stylist takes me to the mirror doesn't even blow dry or let alone towel dry my hair and asks me "how does it look?!" To which I respond I can't really see the true color cause my hair is wet. So I have absolutely no idea what the color looks like. "Would you be able to dry my hair so I can see the color?" I couldn't believe a high end salon would just leave me with my hair SOPPING WET. When , I was supposed to be getting a blowout which they could no longer provide me due to their OWN appointment mix up ! After their appointment mishap you would expect them to at least blow dry or towel dry my hair...NOPE! The didn't even care enough to make up for their mistake and my waste of time. Unbelievable, when I asked the stylist she said sorry I can only dry the two front to strands for you to see the color. Which I politely responded I am actually very disappointed in this entire experience and came here today to get a hair color, hair cut, and blowout as I have a dinner reservation for the evening, and now I only got a color which I can't even see the finished product until I now go home, shower, and now redo my hair myself. That was not how I was planning my day especially after expecting this to be a high end salon and spa day! When I went to the front desk to check out I told the receptionist my concerns and disappointment in this entire experience. To which she said "oh I understand so I'm assuming you don't want to leave a tip?". I was shocked instead of trying to apologize and provide a solution to this entire terrible experience (which was both the salon and stylists mistakes) her only concern was for me to pay the salon tab ! When I told her I literally cannot see the color of my hair since it's sopping wet she said oh if you pay in full right now on Monday you can come back and we can retouch your hair. I still don't understand why the salon nor stylist was offering to blow dry my hair which would have taken approximately 5-10 minutes ! It was as if their only concern was taking my money and they didn't care about my actual experience or concerns. The lack of customer service here is astonishing, whether or not you're happy they could care less all the want is $400-$500 for minimum service and courtesy. One of the girls actually asked if my hair was dry enough because she was tired of blow drying my hair. But no she was done and I was ready to get out of there after this rude remark. In addition, the prices are overrated - $300 plus for color, wash, and half a blow dry. It has been a little over a month since Queidi Diaz at Prive salon ruined my hair and left it this cheap looking brassy yellow blond. This was my third time at Prive Salon, but my first time using Queidi Diaz. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or just doesn't know what she is doing, but she ruined my nice blond that I came in with. My visit with her was to add more saturation to my already blond hair and instead she turned my nice icy blond turned into a cheap brassy blond with orange roots. I don't know anyone who would love a brassy orange shadow root. I would have been 100% happier with the hair I entered Prive with before I sat in that chair and she ruined it. I appreciate management trying to make a right out of this terrible highlighting job and having one of their senior colorist try to fix the color that Queidi Diaz left me with, but to be honest there is no fixing here. This has got to be the worst highlighting job I have ever gotten and I can't believe it was done by a colorist at a high end salon for $400+. My hair looks like a home hair dye job gone wrong. Today was my first visit to Prive Salon, and I'm happy to say I will definitely be going back! On a recommendation I got my hair done by Lauren. I'm so happy I did! She is an amazing stylist, and I am extremely impressed by her work! I absolutely love my cut, and I left Prive feeling like a million bucks. The interior of this salon is absolutely glamorous, and the service here is really great. They offer you a glass of water, tea or lemonade while you wait. I had a glass of fresh lemonade, and it was delicious :) Also, the shampoo hair wash is awesome! They use great products and even massage your head while they are shampooing and conditioning. I highly recommend taking a lot of the negative reviews into consideration, my experience was incredibly disappointing but I booked with because of it's sweeping 5 star reviews. My sister and I wanted to get a nice special color and haircut for the summer. We're used to military base haircuts. Once the pandemic hit, we weren't sure if they were still open as we never got a call and the state was closing non essential businesses. We called the day before our April appointment and were told the salon was in fact closed and someone would follow up later to reschedule. No biggie, don't mind waiting, so we waited about a couple weeks for someone to follow up and never got a call. I followed up a couple times via email, no response, I called once and was told I'd get a follow up call that weekend. Never heard from anyone. My sister tried emailing and actually got a response, it was from the manager sending her to the website to book an appointment. But we thought we already had an appointment? She called, was told someone would "follow up soon." Of course they never did. By mid May we happened to check Instagram, saw they'd actually opened up on the 10th! I know with the pandemic everything's hectic, but a little communication can't hurt. So we call, they said they'd schedule us over the phone and we ask for two days in June, one being on my sister's birthday. It's clear whoever scheduled us when we called in April didn't actually do it, but despite several red flags leading up to it we stuck with the appointments and requested specific stylists and colorists who were available. I booked for a cut and color. My appointment was first, I arrived a little late and they were very kind about it. Didn't have to wait long and when I sat in the chair the colorist turned out to be someone different from who I booked with, they never notified me they'd switch it. I was fine with the switch until I was told I couldn't do any of the colors I wanted and that she could only do partial highlights. I wasn't anticipating only highlights so I asked to cancel the color, which they did, and then they asked if the cut I wanted was "just a cleanup" or if it'd "take long". By that point I just surrendered and agreed to a simple cut, they said I'd need to wait 45 minutes. After sitting on it, I decided I really didn't want them doing anything to my hair. If they swapped my colorist they'd probably swap my stylist too, I didn't even know if my sister's appointment was correct. I couldn't get my colorist, why are they now pressing me as if any cut would take too long? My sister and I walked back into the salon to confirm hers was correct, which it was, and I asked if I could cancel my haircut altogether. Josh agreed to cancel it but said in the future I'd need to put down a $50 deposit when I book an appointment. Fine, I'm never coming back anyways. So we left, immensely disappointed and concerned about how her appointment the next day would go. You can't go changing my colorist, implying any cut beyond layers would take too long, and then expect me to pay probably full price for a haircut. My sister then got a call at 7 am saying the salon is closing and her appointment had been canceled (3 hours before her appointment time). They said it was because they were waiting for test results to come back, as they had tested everyone for Covid. One of the employees evidently had it and went into isolation. We were never told anything about this, they never mentioned that they were getting tests or that any of the employees had/had been in contact with the virus. Of course my sister immediately canceled her appointment. Overall the impression I got was that Prive is incredibly unprofessional and impersonal. They pick and choose who they'll treat well and who they'll screw over and lack any sort of communication. While the stylists and colorists may be talented (who knows, I'm never going back) their management and front desk employees will drive away clients. I had made an appointment with Raul because I did some stalking haha and quickly saw that was the type of look I wanted. He did notttt disappoint! For my first visit I can say that I made the right choice. I usually go by word of mouth, but went solely on reviews, and was not disappointed! If you want service from the beginning to the end, you are in the right spot! I was taken on a whim, I am not an easy customer, and I am beyond pleased! My color was beautifully corrected, and the service was top-notch. I was greeted by so many employees that each have specific jobs, and the service was impeccable! At the end of the treatment I was met by the owner who was both concerned with all of his clients, while at the same time sincerely cordial. I've gone to Privé for years (even flying back to Orlando to get my hair done after I moved to NYC and Boston), and they never disappoint. Not only is the staff incredibly talented, they are kind, accommodating, and passionate. I've wanted extensions for years, but never pulled the trigger because of the cost and just not really knowing how they would look on me. I recently decided to get them since I will be getting married in a couple months, and I was nervous from the start. After going over multiple options and price ranges with stylist Jessica Olson, I decided to move forward with Extensionology. Long story short....I am OBSESSED. I was so worried that my hair would look fake and "big," and the results couldn't be farther from that. Jessica is a hair genius - I asked her to just go with what she thought would look the best, and she picked the perfect shades (three different shades to go with my multi-dimensional blonde hair), she chose the PERFECT length for what I was trying to achieve, and they literally couldn't look more natural. I have never been so happy with my hair, I can't stop touching it and I can't believe I have the thickness and length I've always wanted. She didn't let me leave that chair until she knew I was completely happy, and I can't express how much that meant to me. They were truly worth every penny. Jess also made a good point - a lot of people think extensions are high maintenance, but they're actually the opposite....since I got them put in I have to do virtually nothing to my hair and it looks perfect. I can genuinely say I just got the worst haircut of my life. I typically go to the Aveda Orlando Salon, whom I always trust with my hair. However, I was excited to try out bangs and couldn't get an appointment anywhere else except Privé, so I decided I'd try them out. I researched reviews to see if I could trust them with my hair. It was the worst decision to do so. I came in, hoping for a long fringe. I showed Allison, my stylist, 3 different pictures of the same length and she asked me if I'd like the bangs to be cut below my eyebrows. Then, she proceeded to cut my hair way too short, high above my eyebrows! Even if I had asked for short bangs, these were still way too short! I believe Allison knew she'd made a mistake, but instead of leaving it or trying to fix the problem, she continued to straighten and cut and straighten and cut, so much that I have burn marks on the top of my head from how many times she tried to elongate the hair but ended up burning me by accident. She was very shaky, and I knew from the first cut that I had made a terrible mistake. It is so short and choppy and nowhere near the pictures or length I asked for, and I've never had a worse hair cut in my life. Please do not go to Privé if this is what you're looking for, or at least go for a senior stylist instead. I will give props for the service and drinks available, but the cut itself was terrible. I'm forced to wear headbands and hair clips until it's grown out enough that I can go to Aveda to get it fixed. I went there while I was in Orlando for a month with my family. I was looking for a hair salon that looked trustworthy enough for me to go "crazy" with my hair. I booked an evaluation with a hair stylist, Eric. I didn't request anyone specific but I was more than happy with Eric's service. He's very nice and professional, and, needless to say, amazing at his job. I told him he could do anything he wanted to my hair, but just keeping in mind I'd prefer something low maintenance. He went for golden-blonde highlights with some rose mixed here and there. It looked absolutely amazing. I was never more satisfied and happy with my hair. Everyone commented on it when I came back to Brazil, complimenting how amazing it looked. For cutting, I had the pleasure of meeting Erica Grass, an also amazing hair stylist. She performed miracles in my hair. I say this because I also told her she could cut it however she liked, also keeping in mind that my hair is super full and frizzy, so it got even fuller when it was cut short. She kept the cut I'd always do in my regular hair stylists in Brazil, and I thought "okay, nothing special about this", but it turns out, it was super special. It wasn't until the blowdry washed off and I got to experience my actual usually full and frizzy hair that I realized she must have done some magic to it because it looked amazing and sleek all of the time. It was truly a pleasure getting my hair done at Prive. So much so that it's been almost a year and I haven't cut it or color it ever again - lol. I'm returning this month to Orlando and hope to experience it all again. Yes, it's an expensive salon - which is another reason why I haven't got my hair done since -, but I feel like it's super worth it. I hope their photographer is there when I go in this time around, I'd love a professional picture of my hair's before and after. I'm sure it's going to be an impressive one. read more

I was so impressed by the professionalism taken by the whole staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I love my new look and the color is perfect. Bee worked on the color and Veronica did my cut. These ladies are amazing! From the moment I walked in until I left i felt really welcomed. Cannot say enough amazing things about my stylist- Raul Araujo! He is absolute perfection- he has worked wonders with my hair! I have super curly, thick hair & it's very hard to manage, especially in the Florida heat. Raul recently cut my hair into a shag with extreme layers & I am IN LOVE. My hair has never looked or felt this healthy; I can now wake up and go about my day with little to no product in it & leave it down the entire day. He also re- shaped my blunt, straight across the forehead bangs to perfection & blended them into my new haircut flawlessly.
