I spoke with Margot, the Director, regarding my son's learning differences and she was very understanding and accommodating. After my son came in for an assessment she recommended two tutors that would work best with my son, Amy and Ms Jessie. My son loved them. But, what impressed me the most was the fact that Margot recommended other tutoring facilities, and specialized learning programs, for my son just in case he needed a more comprehensive learning program. Her gesture made me feel that my son's educational well being meant more to her than just profit for the company. For the 5 weeks that my son attended Tutoring Club, he loved it. In the end though, I did end up enrolling him in a special needs program for kids with learning disabilities. But, if my son ever needs tutoring again, when he's older, I will definitely have him go back to the wonderful staff at Tutoring Club.

Another time I had specifically said that we would be doing reading on single hour days and it was somehow forgotten and they did math instead , which is not why I started tutoring to begin with. It's a mixed bag right now, but I think I would be less critical if it wasn't so expensive. I will definitely update this review once I can assess progress.

After an assessment, your child will be given daily worksheets that build good study habits and understanding of fundamentals. There is one instructor and several assistants. My 5th grader has been doing Kumon since the summer before Kindergarten. She is doing 6th+ grade level math. I find it helpful because it is daily practice of fundamentals. It is most evident after the summer when everyone returns to school and has forgotten everything, while my child jumps right in with everything fresh in her mind. Because she is ahead of everyone, this gives her confidence at school as Kumon gets harder, and makes her feel good about herself. This daily reinforcement is important and I equate it to brushing your teeth - you just do it. Even on your birthday, even during holidays. Each packet only takes 10-20 minutes depending on difficulty. She will do Kumon until she finishes it (probably high school). We started Kumon in California and since moving here 2 years ago, we have been very impressed with the instructor, Scott. He is very involved with helping the children and runs a very organized center. He always touches base periodically with the parent. In California, the teacher's center was a paper nightmare, the parents were instructed to wait outside (there was nowhere to sit) and she was always to busy to have a conversation with you. Price: both programs for $230 per month. You can do just math only or just reading only if you prefer. Ambiance: large space with seating for parents in the front area to *quietly* wait for their child to finish their work with a viewing window and main area for the students and the assistants. If your child is older, you can also wait in your car but you must be available and not just drop your child off unattended. Location: I don't know why Yelp lists as Anthem Hills, but the sign on the door is "Green Valley Kuminside plaza behind Osaka Japanese Bistro, next to Lazy Dog Pet Grooming. I'm a person who used to go here and I like the staff yes nice teachers this school also has…read morespecials including Spanish and I was in first grade so I didn't get that impressed there was a Spanish class but know understanding I know when I had specials I didn't like the martial arts teacher there because I didn't get my belt on correctly and her reaction what was made me have beef with her, idk it was weird so I would go to P.E instead but besides that there's some details you should know. It's not a religious school, for some weird reason some classes get recorded when they're doing the pledge (again, I don't know why or surpiringsly how.) And every day they have teacher awards. The MPR is really big, I think it's about 10-11 inches and normal MPRs I think are like 8-9 inches, final thing they have 2 playgrounds one is really small (Recess Playground) and a huge playground that reaches 20 inches (I think, that we play at Lunch Recess) There are a few good teachers, but I didn't like Ms. Gardner a first grade teacher if she still works here, she was a teenager but now I suspect she is a young adult but so yeah, it's a great school!

My daughter is diagnosed level 3 autism and if your child is past level 1 DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. they don't have the resources or knowledge for kids with level 2 and up. I get it my daughter elopes and has her bad days but instead of making her feel better and to try again they had me pick her up second week of school labeled her a safety concern and suggested restraints.. Car loop sucks for special ed parents considering their kids gate is 0..the last one which i had to tell them every time because they would forget or not notice when i write it on our car loop tag. Special education teacher is full of excuses and can't handle special ed kids period. I don't think they've had children with severe autism and it shows. Now she is getting what she needs from CCSD and is improving already

Between the absolutely magical staff and the science behind how and what they teach, I couldn't have asked for more. My daughter already had an affinity for math, but what has stood out most is how much confidence and independence she's gained here. She now works through problems with ease, explains her reasoning clearly, and takes pride in solving things on her own without immediately asking for help. The Mathnasium approach really works--the balance of drills, refining skills, and stretching students to do better feels like the best kind of sports coaching for the mind. I chose to have her follow Mathnasium's provided curriculum instead of sending in what we were doing at home, and I can say without a doubt that there's something special about it. Her progress has been incredible, and it's clear that the program is designed to build both skills and love for the subject. On top of that, the staff has been nothing short of amazing. Nick and Michael have patiently answered every "silly" question I've had, accommodated a short leave when we needed it, always kept me updated on her progress, and overall been absolute gems to talk to. Riley, especially, has been exceptional in working with my daughter. She can sometimes veer off topic, and I've overheard Riley redirect her with such professionalism and gentleness. Today was her last day for a little while as we take a short break, and my daughter sobbed on the way home. That says everything about what this place means to her. Riley even wrote her the sweetest goodbye note, which melted both of our hearts. The staff here has truly become her math family, and we are so grateful for all they've done. Our daughter has developed a love for art thanks to the creative and unique projects led by Ms Mummert. We are grateful for the care and patience to the toddler teachers (Ms. Elysa, & Ms. Kanae, Mrs. Ranieri).
