Math has never been an issue for my son until this past school year. He was struggling in Alg 1 & needed help. Of course my son didn't want to go to tutoring & was adamant that he didn't need tutoring. After his first session with Jordan, he left SMP tutoring happier than ever, & understood the ALG lesson that he was having difficulty with. Once when he began tutoring @ SMP he was no longer frustrated, nor was I. Eventually the algebra 1 concepts were easier for him & he had more confidence in himself & the concepts he was learning. His tutor Jordan, was awesome! Jordan was very knowledgeable, patient and motivating. My son passed his Alg 1 EOC standardized test with a high 4! Which is AMAZING! We are beyond ecstatic. My son passed the Alg1 class & Alg EOC because of SMP tutoring! I honestly should have started him sooner, but he will most definitely continue with SMP tutoring. :) If your child is struggling academically or your child needs to improve test scores, I highly recommend SMP tutoring! Unfortunately, after spending a significant amount of money on this service, we saw little to no measurable improvement. Throughout the program, I communicated my concerns directly to the owner. Rather than addressing the effectiveness of the tutoring, I was repeatedly made to feel as though my son was the problem. In my opinion, the tutors lacked the ability to teach concepts in a way that promoted true understanding and mastery of the SAT. Sessions often consisted of simply reviewing information and test questions rather than providing meaningful instruction, strategies, or personalized guidance. What made this experience even more disappointing was that after leaving this program, I found another tutor who worked with my son for just three weeks. During that short period, his SAT score increased by 170 points. This demonstrated to me that my son was fully capable of improving when provided with effective instruction and support. After the tutoring service itself acknowledged that my son and their program were not the right fit, I requested a refund or at least a partial refund given the lack of results and the substantial cost. The owner never responded to my request. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service. The program was extremely expensive, produced no meaningful results for my son, and when concerns were raised, they were not addressed in a professional or customer-focused manner. Update as a response to owner feedback. 100% my son sat for the exam they were contracted for and this is where no improvement was made. After the results I was given the option of one on one tutoring at an additional $75/hr. Obviously this service lacks the ability to keep a student engaged and motivated and the results of a different tutoring service proves that SMP is not a good investment.

When #2 appointment rolled around she was very rude during their meet and greet hour and kept speaking over my son, not allowing him to speak. I tried a couple of times to tell her what he was saying and she began to silence me by telling me that she can only take answers from the child. To which I advised, I'm only saying exactly what he was trying to tell her. She proceeded to tell me that her volume is all the way up and she hears me clearly, so... It got to the point where my son stop answering her with his words and began using hand signals. During their meet and greet she revealed that she had been a elementary teacher for 8yrs -i cannot understand how. My 9yr old son, who is a people's person with an outdoor personality was very unengaged. She did not capture him in the slightest. She was more interested in using the 45mins they had together to tell him of her trips to Latin America with her family and her love for making music, then to to figure out how to capture my son's attention and keep him engaged. My goodness -I can go on and on about how badly the lesson went. Can you believe this woman began the lesson by yawning and telling my child she was feeling tired from staying up too late the night before RIGHT AFTER my child told her he was feeling EXCITING about starting tutoring. Then she had the audacity to cancel all future appointments with my child at the beginning of their next appointment with NO notice. The experience with this company has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

They are flexible and they do their best to meet your scheduling needs when you are not able to keep a set schedule (which should make sense for most but we have found ourselves between a rock and a hard place, with work and our son's school schedule). We have found it difficult to set a specific schedule for the sessions but despite of that, they have always come through for us. I'm really happy it has worked out, it is a little pricey but it's worth it. Money well invested. He even got his graphing calculator set up with Mia, he's been doing the tutoring with her & it's been going great. We're very happy! He is sweet, patient, and understanding. He REALLY wants you to do good and succeed in his class! He is always willing to answer your questions and constantly reviewed previous chapters to ensure that we know the material thoroughly. His excitement to teach keeps us students motivated to learn. He made statistics sound so interesting & exciting, that I often felt like his classes would fly by because I was so engaged in what he was teaching us. I I took his statistics class as a junior in high school (i am a duel enrollment student) and I could not have asked for a better professor!!! This was also my first school year being in a classroom setting, as I had previously been homeschooled all my life, but it was an easy transition when I had such an awesome professor like Professor Jarquin. After successfully completing the initial virtual interview, I was contacted by the Director of Recruitment to schedule a phone interview. However, the scheduled interview call was missed entirely, and after waiting, I ultimately had to locate and call the office myself. During the conversation, there appeared to be confusion regarding my candidacy and interview status. Despite this, the discussion itself went well, and I was informed that I would likely move forward to the next stage involving a teaching demonstration with faculty the following week. After receiving no follow-up communication regarding scheduling, I sent a polite reminder requesting the date and time so I could prepare accordingly. I later received a rejection email without any further discussion. I fully understand that schools may choose other candidates, and I respect that process. However, the scheduling issues, communication delays, and overall coordination of the interview experience felt disorganized and inconsistent with the professional image the institution presents publicly.

The administration and teachers made his transition very smooth. Teachers reward positive behavior and my son really adapted well, taking great pride in the improvements he made. The classical education model brooks no nonsense (please see the top ratings this school has earned) but it's certainly not austere in anyway. The kiddos love the school and love learned. And the teachers really make learning come alive. My son gets in the car bouncing up and down excited to share what he's learned of ancient history and loves testing me on the material! Literature/reading is augmented with a new special book every month that culminates in a fun event with snacks, crafts and enrichment activities based on the book. The children study CHESS in school twice a week from a grandmaster. This instructor's competence and love of the game earned him a place in my child's heart and in mine. And, oh my word, if his main teacher isn't the sweetest, kindest, most beautiful, most patient person I've ever met .... In my experience children rise to the level of the expectations set for them. This is especially true in the supportive environment at True North.

They tell you the baby has made great progress in his learning, but it's all a lie. They hide a lot of things from the parents, and you only realize it when your child gets sick. He's only 1! the young woman treated me rudely and rushed out. touring lasted about 5 minutes conversation and she already classified my son as not suitable for the cost . To me it felt as discrimination. Don't recommend it at all. If the want young toddlers to be soldiers then that's not the right school for my boy. I thought a school was supposed to teach not discriminate.
