What a surprise it was to find a food truck like this in Hamburg…read more A fresh cooked, juicy, cheese smothered, fried onion topped, crispy bacon laden, sauce covered burger of gastronomic delight! Most burger shops in America would be hard pressed to turn out a sandwich this tasty, much less from a truck. It appears the cook/owner has found his true calling in making one of the best hamburgers that I've had in a long time. I opted for one of the lower tier burgers, but if one has the appetite, he can make you a double patty behemoth with the works on it. I wanted to be able to eat the next day, so I had to restrain myself... The cook starts out with fresh ground beef that he cooks in front of you and when done, tops it with anything you desire. Then, your piping hot burger is wrapped in paper, cut in half, and handed to you with a smile. Look out tastebuds, here it comes! The menu sticks to burgers, but they are made perfectly and with consistency. Drinks are available and usually a couple of tables are set up so you can nosh on your burger nearby or take it with you if you please. The truck moves to different spots around town, so you may need to check online for the current location to get your F-Burger fix. So, when you've had your fill of wiener schnitzel, sauerbraten, and scheinehaxe, you may want to check out some fresh ground beef for your next lunch! The sweet potato fries were really delicious and the bun was good but I'd eat it in one go versus saving some for later as it will get soggy. Overall, it was alright but it's a meal fusion that wasn't for me.

So after all I joined the group around twentyhundret-and-a-bit: a bunch of more than 25 heads, that made their way to the GOLDEN, a place being criticized in november last year by myself in a pretty harsh but discussable way. Therefore I was pretty excited how both - the restaurantsowner and the qype community - would reflect on the upcoming event. Bearing a pretty poor stomach for almost a week in mind, I decided to choose from the menu, beginning with a chinese mushroom soup with chicken. Great choise! Delicious and tasty. Then there was some Dim Sums and in the end another shark-fin-soup (what-so-ever the english equivalent may be called). Please refer to both english and german feedbacksregarding the GOLDEN. As I dont like to edit my german comment from november `06, I have to get the GOLDEN five stars and two-thumbs-up from this end. That night was awesome! Thanks to Mr. Wong.

We had cold dishes to start, glass noodles, cold meats, tofu & garlic, etc. That wasn't really my thing, but each successive course brought better and better food. One course brought some really great prawns. They were messy to eat, but delicious. After the two (or three, I forget) main courses came some amazing soup, and after that we got one small sweet dish. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but it seemed like dates covered in dough, rolled in sesame seeds. The best chinese food I've had in Hamburg (Ok, I've not really had much chinese food, but still :)
