They quoted the project at $3 million and 18 months to complete. The project came in nearly $1 million over budget and two years behind schedule (a total of 3.5 years). Besides the additional cost of renting worship space for twice as long as we anticipated, Powers Goolsby failed to protect against flooding during construction and our basement filled with four feet of water during a hard storm event. We lost thousands in equipment and memorabilia that can never be replaced. The principals were evasive and prone to finger pointing. They reneged multiple times on the contract, and two of the subcontractors issued liens on our property claiming they had not been paid by Powers Goolsby.
