I like to go directly to management or owners with my concerns to help give quality feedback when there is an issue. Well, I tried numerous times and I am extremely disappointed I have been completely ignored. You can read my previous review, and this was the reason we returned. The experience and work we received on our visit 2/2/2023 was horrible. I have uploaded photos, which I also sent to BK hoping for some response or willingness to make it right. Total cost ended at $3,400!! If the work reflected the "top artist" work we were promised, I would not blink an eye having to pay that. However, pictures will show the work provided was subpar and did not follow stencils and pictures properly. How we have been treated after spending that type of money and traveling across the states does not reflect the "family" aspect portrayed through their social media everyday. I was looking for a place to take my son for his first tattoo and I wanted more than anything for it to be done right. I wanted a blue line glad honoring my deceased father and all the fallen officers. HPD runs deep in my family. Not only was the flag a cover-up, it actually covered up 2 old tats. It took me over a month and half to wait for an appointment, the tattoo I received was a mechanical pocket watch, I had four skin traumas which one is still not completely healed after a little bit more than a month with several blow outs. As I walked in I was a bit skeptical seeing the cages, but the shop is very clean and so are the artists. I came in not intending to get a tattoo, but to support my boyfriend as he was getting his first halve sleeve. As I was watching Chris delicately maneuver his needle in my boyfriends arm I was curious about a tattoo I've been seeing online and asked BK. Both BK and Chris were very helpful and although the artist that specialize in the tattoo I wanted wasn't there they didn't just say this guy can do it( unlike some other shops I know that will just match someone who is not good) and just want your money. Had to get my tragus piercing fixed & redone since the last place I went to gave me an infection. My piercer (I can't remember his name... sorry!) was super chill and was so good that I didn't even feel him pierce it. It's been two days and so far so good! Follow the page on FB or Instagram, he is ALWAYS posting & promoting his shop. I had a friend recommended Prison Break Tattoos for a simple line that I wanted around my wrist. The blue line was in memory of my grandfather who had recently passed away. I understand that doing a straight line can be hard but not impossible. Also, if you as a tattoo artist feel that the tattoo might be to hard for you. It is way better to turn someone down then leave them with a shitty tattoo. The person who did my tattoo obviously wanted the money more then giving me a good tattoo. The blue line does connect but it is very uneven and thicker in some parts then other. If you look at the green line I got done at 3rd generation ink. It is literally perfect all the way around. I am giving Prison Break Tattoo 2 stars only because the top of the wrist is a bit better then the under side but I will never go here again. If you can't do a line how can I expect you to do something that is actually difficult. This is a reminder to ways do research before you get a tattoo. read more

When you walk into this place you're really going to think you're in prison (in a good way).The owner (BK) is very creative and artistic, you can tell just by walking in. He's great, courteous, and professional! I was initially scheduled for 7p, but fortunately I was able to be seen earlier than that. I brought a picture of what I wanted, but I told them that I was open to any ideas. My guy who's name I totally forgot was extremely helpful and attentive to how I wanted this tattoo too look on me. My tattoo took about 4hrs and my guy always checked up on me and asked me if I was okay or if I needed a break. I was very satisfied with the tattoo and the experience. The staff is friendly and the service is great. The area is clean and not cluttered. After the tattoo was completed, my guy cleaned it up, spread ointment, bandaged it up, and gave me instructions. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that my guy used Saran Wrap and Scotch Tape, rather than a sterile bandage to absorb all the sanguineous fluid that was leaking from my fresh wound. I went here to get my second tattoo. It's been 20 years since my first, so definitely felt like it was my first. Communication was great from the start, laid back and informative, and they were able to get me in on the specific day I'd requested. When we walked in right on time, they had my ideas already up on the computer so we could come up with the design. May did my design and it was prettier than I envisioned. It is a very personal one so I told her I wanted it in white ink. She explained what may happen to the white ink so that I was aware and all bases were covered. She made sure I was comfortable and was thorough in letting me know how to care for it. I chose this shop because I love the story and my father, a retired cop, recently passed. They fit me in right away and I'm sure the tattoo would have been good however the prices were astronomical. They wanted $300 for a single date, a line butterfly the size of a quarter and four small lines less than .5 inch each. I can't imagine these costing more than the shop minimum and it was almost double. The shop minimum is also no longer $120 as is listed in the Q&A on their Yelp, it's $160. They wouldn't give us any quote until the stencil was placed, and then charged $150 for us to leave with no tattoos. All in all it was an unfortunate experience because I think it could have been really cool. read more

Customer service isn't a thing here. 4 of us decided to get random tattoos during our "girls day out". We walked in here and it was pretty obvious we weren't welcome. We were told no one was available to do a tattoo and that it would be a 3-4 hour wait. I said that was fine and we could just leave and come back. He insisted that we go somewhere else. "There are other shops down montrose..." is what he said to me twice. I'm aware, why are you trying to send us elsewhere? Do you not want our business? I recently went here to get my ear re-pierced and I was very pleased. The coolest part of the experience was the place itself. It is made to look like you are in a jail. When you walk in, you are in a cell where they unlock the door and take you in. They have bunk beds attached to the wall that have sleeping dummy inmates on them. I was just impressed that they took that much time to create an atmosphere. As far as the staff, they were pleasant. They didn't talk much. They pretty much sat me down, pierced my ear, and then sent me on my way. It would have been nice to talk to them a little bit... The price of the piercing was $40. I can't remember what it was the first time I had my ear pierced, but I felt like that was a little pricey. Maybe not. I don't get a whole lot of things pierced on me. The one thing that they don't mention to you is that they only accept cash. They have an ATM there, but paying the fee really sucks. As for my ear, it's been two weeks now and it hasn't fallen off. That has to be a good sign. It definitely hurt a little more than what I remember from the first time around, but it looks good. read more

The owner is cool like everyone says, BUT the tattoo was way over priced, the artist watched football and talked to a friend the whole time I was there, and when I tried to tell him what I wanted he dismissed it. The last part would be ok if he was good but the tattoo turned out mediocre at best. And they gossiped about other employees for half the session too. Overall the crappiest experience I've ever had and I've got tattoos all over my body. BTW - the reason Im posting now is because I thought maybe it was me .... until I got another tattoo yesterday - from another shop - and the experience was what one would expect - amazing. In a day and time when tattoo shops seem to be more shady than good, it was very refreshing to find this shop. My main point to go to the shop was due to it being owned by a first responder and to see the amazing tattoos that they are doing is just awesome. Now this shop was not in my city that I love or even in my state, I traveled several hundred miles to go to this shop. I am very grateful that I did, because I have two amazing tattoos that mean a lot to me. The atmosphere of the shop is very relaxing and the artist are funny as much as they are talented. So I got my first tattoo here last November (I know, I'm late at writing this review) but it was such a great experience that I have to make sure to give them credit for it! When you walk in, you instantly feel like you actually are in prison. The set up is awesome. Really feels like a prison at times, and it is remarkably clean and professional. The staff is great! I walked in an immediately was greeted by the shop owner, B.K., and he is a wonderful person. Super funny, easy going, and very open about working with you to get you exactly the tattoo you want. I went in with a handwritten piece of paper of the tattoo I wanted (a phrase written in my best friend's handwriting), and B.K. fixed up the size and placing for me for about half an hour until I was 100% content with it! Got it on my left side; pain wasn't horrible. They made sure to talk me through it since it was my first time, and explained the post-care instructions very well. I got my ear pierced there, it got infected really bad, to the point I had to go to the doctor and get antibiotics. The dr says its from not being sterilized. I don't remember him sterilizing or getting a new needle after he pierced a friend of mines ear, he was too busy talking to us. The guy was a very sweet funny guy. I liked him but I just don't understand how it got so badly infected, I followed the exact directions on how to clean it and how many times a day. I called up there and explained what happen and the owner was nice about it and offered to get it pierced for free once it healed. I never went back bc they lost my trust. 7 months later I got the same exact piercing somewhere else with no problems. read more

I made an appointment at Prisonbreak the day before and BK gave me a time that fit into my schedule. What I didn't expect was that he gave me a reminder the day of just an hour before which is nice because most places just expect you to remember your appointment. Of course I remembered but it's nice for a reminder for those who might have more hectic schedules. When arriving to the place, I didn't expect that their concept of prison would be throughout the shop. It's quite amazing actually how much thought they put into design with the prison bars that open when they press a button, to an electric chair to mannequins placed as prisoners within the facility. BK is super sweet and I was actually taken back by that since my past tattoos were done at places that weren't the nicest. He helps on deciding on what you want if you don't come in with a picture. Even though I just wanted a simple tattoo of 3 hearts on my wrist, he would look through more images on Google just to make sure that is the one I really want. The minimum was $100 which I don't mind. I have gotten tattoos for cheaper but The service is worth the money. Trey was my tattoo artist. He was also very sweet. This was my first tattoo without my sister but he would talk me throughout the session even if it was just 10 minutes; it helped me keep my mind off during the session. It doesn't hurt at all also! I've been wanting a nose piercing for a while but had trouble trying to find a decent place to go to. I finally stumbled across their page and saw so many people just raving about how much fun of an experience they had there and how nervous they were at first but ended up worrying about nothing. I forged why not give them a try. I called ahead to make sure what they might need or say before I just showed up unannounced and they take CASH ONLY! they charged me $40 for the nose stud piercing that I wanted and told me what time they will be available. Being the patient person I was I was totally okay with it and got there before 8 p.m. Like they said. I would be lying if I told you that I was a nervous wreck when I showed up. I've been told by many how theirs hurt and how the piercer messed up theirs but I was trying to keep myself calm because where they went was somewhere else and where I am is something else. As soon as I walked in I was surprised to see how well they decorated the place, it makes you feel like your in a cell and it's amazing. I was greeted immediately by BK I believe and had to sign a paper before I could get my piercing (very sweet guy!). There was a girl ahead of me so I waited about 5 minutes which wasn't the end of the world unlike to most people. I watched as (I forgot the guy who did the piercing but I do plan on going back so if I see him for sure I'll ask for his name! But he had blond hair with a couple of piercings and little tattoos from what I could see) he handled her with care and answered a couple of their questions, then cleaned the area. After that I was next and I literally froze when he signaled me to go over. He asked kindly were I wanted the stud and took his time to draw the mark on making sure it was perfect. He told me to lay down and he cleaned the area first than told me to relax which made me smile a bit then suddenly I felt a sting and then I hear him say "all done, you can breath now". I was shocked that 1. I didn't feel as much pain as though I was (I give it a 1/10). 2. I was nervous about nothing. And 3. Because he didn't tell me (he doesn't tell people when he's going to do it because he believes they tend to get more nervous than what they already were to begin with). He cleaned up the area of the piercing then he gave me a tissue saying "here's to clean your tears" which I thought was the sweetest thing making me smile. He told me to check it out and when I did he said "it looks good on you" which I agreed. He told me how to clean it and how to take care of it also telling me if I wanted to change it out that they'll do it for free on the first one and that if it were to fall out and accidentally close up that they can do it again. I would recommend this place to people who would like to get their pierces done for sure! Tattoos I'm not sure yet but I do plan on getting one soon within the next month.
