phenomenal work!! I cannot be more appreciative of the work, brotherhood, communication and amazing artistry. I was looking for a place to take my son for his first tattoo and I wanted more than anything for it to be done right. I wanted a blue line glad honoring my deceased father and all the fallen officers. HPD runs deep in my family. Not only was the flag a cover-up, it actually covered up 2 old tats. BK and his artist did not disappoint! He worked with me to get both tats in our budget, which wasn't easy considering what we were asking for. The artist was on time, extremely comforting. and incredibly talented. We were blown away by the work done. This place is worth the money on all levels. I cannot thank BK enough! Phenomenal! Just phenomenal! Thanks for all that you guys do for the community! I love what this place stands for! -John

It took me over a month and half to wait for an appointment, the tattoo I received was a mechanical pocket watch, I had four skin traumas which one is still not completely healed after a little bit more than a month with several blow outs. Also, this place it more expensive, it was not worth the $800.00 for an inner forearm tattoo.

I had my second design done yesterday by BK and his team. Ivan did a Foo Dog for me by using multiple basic sketches and free handed all of the details. After over four hours, hIs detail work was unreal and he did an absolutely fantastic job. Outstanding artwork and thanks to Ivan for an outstanding job!

As I walked in I was a bit skeptical seeing the cages, but the shop is very clean and so are the artists. I came in not intending to get a tattoo, but to support my boyfriend as he was getting his first halve sleeve. As I was watching Chris delicately maneuver his needle in my boyfriends arm I was curious about a tattoo I've been seeing online and asked BK. Both BK and Chris were very helpful and although the artist that specialize in the tattoo I wanted wasn't there they didn't just say this guy can do it( unlike some other shops I know that will just match someone who is not good) and just want your money. I have been wanting a few different tattoos and after Chris was done with my boyfriend he took the time to hear what I wanted. Chris, was actually able to take me since it was small and they did mine for free!! The guys and girl at the shop seem to get along well and it was very comfortable experience. It is cash only, but they do have an atm. I will definitely be back!

Had to get my tragus piercing fixed & redone since the last place I went to gave me an infection. My piercer (I can't remember his name... sorry!) was super chill and was so good that I didn't even feel him pierce it. It's been two days and so far so good! I can't even tell that it's a fresh piercing... Doesn't hurt, doesn't pull, doesn't snag. I'm definitely coming back here to get my tattoo... Highly recommended for getting things done right the first time around!

This place was great! The prison theme seemed pretty cool for a tattoo shop! As soon as we walked we were greeted and taken care of (by the owner, I'm assuming). Me and my friends all got small tattoos. Our tattoo guy, Allan, was nice enough to talk to us about our tattoo placements! I originally planned on getting a finger tattoo because honestly I'm not a tattoo expert and thought it would be nice for a small tattoo. After some advice from Allan I changed my placement so I could end up with a better lasting tattoo. Any other place would've just given me the tattoo without talking to me about it. Thank you Prison Break for a good experience here!

Me and my boyfriend traveled to Texas for vacation and a friend recommended this place to us. Alan did our tattoos and he was so awesome. He specializes in American traditional and we both couldn't be happier with the result. I'd recommend him to anyone !!!! Prices were very reasonable considering this tattoo shop has a TV show on A&E and it's rather famous. If you're in the Houston area, def give this place a visit. 5 stars across the board !

I've checked out several tattoo shops before coming across Prison Break. None of the managers have had the same integrity BK has for his business. Follow the page on FB or Instagram, he is ALWAYS posting & promoting his shop. His dedication to the job speaks for itself, & I have mad respect for that, on top of him being a police officer as well! Thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness in the shop & the warm, comfortable vibe I received from just being in there. It was my long-awaited, first tattoo so that was a very important factor to me. My tattoo artist was Allen, very personable & a cool dude-- which is important again bc we sat in each other's company for about 5 hours so he made me feel relaxed even though I was a tad nervous. His attention to detail was more than I expected at all. It blew my mind & I appreciate he took the extra effort to pay tribute to his artistry & I'm the lucky one who gets to wear it. I'm already receiving MANY compliments and very proud to announce to others that I got it done at Prison Break Tattoos. Thanks again, guys!

As an 18 year old I went out and selected the proverbial "tramp stamp" right of passage tattoo, and it has haunted me into my adulthood. Prison Break was recommended to me by a friend that has had extensive work done there, and I am pretty sure I explored every single tattoo the shop has ever posted to social media. I felt confidant making an appointment for my new tattoo/coverup. The appointment setup was fast and easy, and from early on, the guys were asking for examples of what I wanted. I felt like a VIP long before I had even walked in the doors! BK and Allan took my ideas and concept and made my new tattoo a reality. It's gorgeous. I have received so many compliments, and people in disbelief that it's covering my old tattoo. If you want to be treated like family, get a top notch tattoo, and smile/laugh your butt off the whole time you're there, Prison Break is the place for you!

Ivan you rock !! Thanks for the awesome tat !!

From the moment I called to find out the shops hours, the owner BK was friendly and was able to get me in for an appointment right away. The place is just totally cool and unique. A must see! Ivan did an amazing job! BK and Ivan were super friendly and very helpful! This is hard to come by !! Thanks again guys !! Can't wait to go back :)

See the difference between the blue line and the green line.
    Kaitlyn S.

I had a friend recommended Prison Break Tattoos for a simple line that I wanted around my wrist. The blue line was in memory of my grandfather who had recently passed away. I understand that doing a straight line can be hard but not impossible. Also, if you as a tattoo artist feel that the tattoo might be to hard for you. It is way better to turn someone down then leave them with a shitty tattoo. The person who did my tattoo obviously wanted the money more then giving me a good tattoo. The blue line does connect but it is very uneven and thicker in some parts then other. If you look at the green line I got done at 3rd generation ink. It is literally perfect all the way around. I am giving Prison Break Tattoo 2 stars only because the top of the wrist is a bit better then the under side but I will never go here again. If you can't do a line how can I expect you to do something that is actually difficult. This is a reminder to ways do research before you get a tattoo.

    Just perfect, 4hrs.

When you walk into this place you're really going to think you're in prison (in a good way). The owner (BK) is very creative and artistic, you can tell just by walking in. He's great, courteous, and professional! I was initially scheduled for 7p, but fortunately I was able to be seen earlier than that. I brought a picture of what I wanted, but I told them that I was open to any ideas. My guy who's name I totally forgot was extremely helpful and attentive to how I wanted this tattoo too look on me. My tattoo took about 4hrs and my guy always checked up on me and asked me if I was okay or if I needed a break. I was very satisfied with the tattoo and the experience. The staff is friendly and the service is great. The area is clean and not cluttered. After the tattoo was completed, my guy cleaned it up, spread ointment, bandaged it up, and gave me instructions. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that my guy used Saran Wrap and Scotch Tape, rather than a sterile bandage to absorb all the sanguineous fluid that was leaking from my fresh wound. Plastic just goes against every element of wound care. Overall, I would recommend this place for its cleanliness and quality!

I went to Prison Break this past weekend to get two tattoos that I had been planning on for awhile. I got a semicolon on my wrist and the word 'worthy' on my side. I hadn't gotten a tattoo in 6 years so I did a lot of research before coming here. I love my tattoos! The healing is going well. BK gave me a suggestion on the placement of my side tattoo which was very helpful. The price was reasonable. Overall, this was a good experience. However, I wouldn't go back because I did not personally feel comfortable and I got a weird vibe from the artist (Zach?) that tattooed me. He seemed tired and like he didn't wanna be there.

The shop itself is clean, well organized, and has that classic tattoo parlor energy without feeling intimidating. You can tell right away that the artists here take pride in both their craft and the experience they create for their clients. We were lucky enough to work with Homer, and he absolutely made the experience. He brought such a fun, lively spirit to the whole process and immediately made us feel comfortable. The conversation flowed easily, the energy was light, and he somehow balanced being entertaining while still being completely focused and professional with his work. Most importantly, his talent speaks for itself. The lines are crisp, the detail is clean, and you can tell he genuinely cares about the quality of what he puts on someone's skin. It's a private studio which is nice because I don't really a big fan of random people popping in while I'm being worked on. 5/5 In depth review of the whole process. Objective: Booking periods happen only so often. I submitted my application with two concept ideas. I received my email October 2nd telling me I was selected for the Feb/Mar cycle. I paid my booking deposit then gave them my availability, they worked with my availability and I was scheduled for March 15th. Once the appointment was confirmed I told them I'm willing to switch appointments if necessary to work around his other clients. My appointment date remained the same but my time was moved to 7am which was nice. Johnny reached out February 16 for a confirmation on the exact design (I kept going back and forth sending in different things) and March 8th I got a courtesy email for my upcoming session. I showed up to the studio and Johnny was finishing up the final design. We talked briefly on the different aspects of shading and line work but I told him that I trusted him because he's the artist and he knows what will probably look best for the final piece. The session was about 6 hours with 3 breaks. Snacks and beverages were provided. The studio itself is open with tall ceilings. It has couches and a long meeting table. The tattoo I got cover parts of my chest, my sternum, some ribs, and my upper abdomen. It was a painful tattoo Subjective: The booking process was really nice and communication from his assistant was nice. I think he got a new assistant sometime after my appointment was confirmed, nothing was wrong with his old assistant but his new one Melanie has a much more welcoming online persona. Her personality in person matches it too. Johnny comes off as a casual laid-back guy. He's nonchalant yet he's very interested in his clients. He gave me a sense of autonomy throughout the whole process. In hindsight I gave him very little to work with and while doing the final touches he was asking me what I liked specifically about the reference pictures. I sent him a couple of pictures of different designs by other artists and it was really nice to know he took them into consideration. I've been to an artist before where I brought in printed references and the artist glimpsed at it then pulled out the sketch he already had before I showed up. While I was being worked on the pain was too much for me to handle in the beginning, given the location and design it's expected to hurt. I asked if I could have a break after the main outline was done and Johnny agreed. I didn't feel any mental resistance from him. He wrapped up the area so I could go outside and get some fresh air. After that I didn't have to ask for breaks, Johnny stopped and gave me two more. I'm not sure how but Johnny knew when I was getting reaching my threshold. Given he's had years of experience I'm sure he's picked up a 6th sense on how to read people. After the main outline was done Johnny stopped and asked how I wanted the rest of the session to play out. I told him I'd prefer to do the top part of my tattoo because I knew the bold lines would hurt more and I personally like having the most painful part of a tattoo done first. Johnny is the first artist to give me that option. Johnny himself as a person is hella cool. During the whole session we didn't talk much which was nice because I just wanted to relax (i'm on spring break from nursing school and my life since august has been studying so I actually don't know how to talk to people anymore lmao). From our conversation Johnny comes off as someone who wants to know his clients. This isn't just another transaction for him. He asked me questions to get to know me but he never pushed me to share. We both shared stories and aspects of lives that were interesting. Melanie went out for a bit and offered to pick something up. Johnny asked if I wanted anything which was really nice and I asked for coffee and a sandwich. When she came back I offered to pay and Johnny told me that he'd pay for it ( johnny is just nice af). This is my opinion but getting a tattoo is only cool after you get it. When I'm getting work done I'm being vulnerable to the public. I'm not a fan of getting work done while random people walk by watching me trying to hold myself together. The whole process is just painful and it sucks. I like this studio because it's just him and his assistance. Overall I had a really great experience. It's only been 4 days but I wake up every morning still in awe at his work. Pros: Johnny is cool Melanie is nice final product is dope snacks privacy Cons: that shit hurted
